Hello. Paulo
As I thanked you on myspace, here I am still reading the 4th chapter of Witch of Portobello. But, I really am enjoying it. As a matter of fact, it gives me chills sometimes. The story covers a lot of aspects of our life which are so deap, and I am finding them both familiar and unfamiliar. Sometimes I do feel like the light is shed to my deepest fears, so reading forward is exciting, and yet a little intimidating for me as well.
After finishing the chapter, I was looking through the comments here and found the one from someone named "Sherine Khalil". It must be exciting for you to see this kind of a small "coincidence". I love seeing it happens. So, I just wanted to share the joy with you today.

Hope you ara having a lovely day.

Dear Paulo,
my generation has grown up with reports from the war in Lebanon. I am in my early fifties. I remember the news when I was much much younger. It has been an endless struggle.
But the story of the child Sherine dancing and singing the words: "It's going to last for a long long time" are chilling to the bones, when taken in retrospective. And her dad understood what she meant and got his family out to safety.
Often, in little details and seemingly unimportant tales, major events can be illustrated in all their impact.
Because History is not just about who made a decision about battle and who won that battle, it is also about how it affected the people caught in that battle and how the whole influenced future generations.
So all the little tales in the world are most important as they give us a window on past, present (and future), events.
Please keep writing!
Regards,
Anne

the story about athena is interesting and it can be happened. a persons name should have some meacning though it doesn't have any direct impact in life, but JESUS (meaningful name) there are lot of other examples.

Yes, this is my real name. Yesterday I was doing a google search on my name, to check if a poem I had was still on-line. Suddenly my name popped up a hundred times. Clicking on one of the sites, I found out that Mr. Coehlo's new protagonist is named (like me)Sherine Khalil, how weird! Needless to say I feel connected to her character (seems I'm not the only one). Paolo has a way of jumping into your innermost feelings you never even know existed. I also defined myself with the alchemist as I am from the middle east, and Egypt. I amlooking forward to buying the book as soon as it comes out. By the way, my two poems are still on the internet, and I'm not the psychologist (another Sherine Khalil).

The Alchiemist was Amazing, My perspective on life really changed. It"s refreshing to know that the longing in my heart and mind will be quenched if I feed my thirst, by actually lisening and acting upon thier needs.

The novel starts freaking me out, seeing yourself written on a paper, sharing things you never wanted to share with others, seeing things are so obvious to the rest of the world about you, is a total threat..
Reading chapter three and now four is not only enjoyable experience but a very a captivating magical journey.. in accepting and making peace with the authentic you, or that at least what I feel..
Thank you my Master

It's amazing how the tone of the story changes from the third chapter to the fourth: the numerologist eases the transition from amusing to sober. It's not often one is introduced to a character from so many perspectives, including that of a parent. This story definitely has me intrigued...

How powerful.

You are exploring the theme of the sacred that is party of the daily in yet another type of story. I really like the use of multiple perspectives; it's so true that one story can sound entirely different depending on who is telling it.

I am very curious to see where this is going.
