Dear Mr Coelho,

first and foremost thank you for all your thoughts and books that have given hope and “espoir” to so many people all around the world.
I know that when my mother was undergoing her worst crisis, she managed to survive also thanks to your books…

I don’t want to take too much of your precious time.

I just meant to do something that we still can’t do: praise and say thank you.

Or “god bless you”, as my students in Nepal would say…

Have a very nice day and please, never give up…
You are important to so many people…
But, please, be important to yourself as wel…

Good luck
and thank you :-)

Natalie

mr. coelho,
please come to nyc. you are the most breathtaking writer and i cannot begin to explain the influence you have had on me and my writing. im 21 years old and have decided to study creative writing in college and in part i have you to thank. after i read “by the river piedra..” my life had changed. i never knew that there could be such beauty, and poetry in a novel.
your words are forever branded into my brains, and i think the next signing you have should be in nyc so i can shake your hand and thank you in person.
truly yours,
ali

Dear Mr Coelho,

I’m Zolaïkha, writing from Paris. I was thinking about you, I wanted to write you a long letter when I learned that you will be in Paris on May…It will be great if I just can see you.

My life has changed when I read for the first time “l’alchimiste”. And till today, my life, my heart and my dreams are different.

Excuse me for my bad english.

I juste hope you will understand the importance your books have on my life. I believe in God, I’m sure that God send me your books in my life. I would like to thank you for one thing: I just want to say thanks to have decided one day to become a writter…Your decision has changed your life but also mine and i’m sure of other people too.

Do you speak french? I would like write you in French…

So many things to say, but I have to finish…
Hopping to see you and read you.

“For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward Heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy; in a word, something noble, supernatural, which enlarges my soul and unites it to God…I have not the courage to look through books for beautiful prayers…I do as a child who has not learned to read, I just tell our Lord all that I want and he understands. Everything is a grace, everything is the direct effect of our father’s love : difficulties, contradictions, humiliations, all the soul’s miseries…Everything is a grace because everything is God’s gift.”(Saint Thérèse de Lisieux

Dear Paulo!

I just got back to my country after spending my vacation right there where you will be doing your signing…It would have been such a great moment to be able to meet you in person and exchange some words, thoughts, smiles, pictures….Well, there will be another time, I am sure!!!

I already told my sister though since she lives there, I hope she can be able to make it, it would be like a dream come true!!!!

Let me know when you will be near Panama!!!!!!

Love,

Glorita
