Zizhang searched for Confucius throughout China. The country was going through a time of great social upheaval, and he feared there could be bloodshed.
He found the master sitting beneath a fig tree, meditating.
‘Master, we urgently need your presence in the government,’ said Zizhang. ‘We are on the brink of chaos.’
Confucius continued to meditate.
‘Master, you taught us that we must not stand idly by,’ Zizhang went on. ‘You said that we were responsible for the world.’
‘I am praying for the country,’ replied Confucius. ‘Later, I will go and help the man who lives round the corner. By doing what is within our reach, we benefit everyone. By merely coming up with ideas about how to save the world, we do not even help ourselves. There are a thousand ways of getting involved in politics; there is no need for me to be part of the government.’

Very inspirational at such a time of fluctuating political standards worldwide.
But i believe that although ideas are a critical point; yet implementing them is the focal point given the boundaries you are in. Creativity in ideas may lead to better implementation.
And that is a humble “dotted” thought.
“The journey of 1,000 miles starts with a single step”
Each taking their *own* little but meaningful leap… the journey of the *1000 miles* would be fulfilled.
Werton
to add to this ..
another wrong view is.. we keep blaming others.. those who are on power now.. those who are active n doing something.. but we never do a single thing as our own
today, think do and say one heartfelt thing.tomorrow, water and fed it, watch it grow.aaaah!impossible to purchase……possible to own.
The moral of the story, I understood is “If there a wish, there is a way.” And this story is inspirational for all of us, as we say, if I were this and that….. We still can do any kind of help and serve without sitting on a chair.
An inspiring story indeed.
haha - I always write too quickly! ;-)
(see first comment, first post) - maybe?…
I’m still convinced that the choices we make
in our daily lives - which products to buy,
which ways to travel (train or car)- do have
an impact. Aswell which books to read! ;-)
