i am a big fan of Paulo Coelho. when i read his work, Veronika Decides to Die, i learned that this gentleman is a complete genius. He made me realized some things very covert in this modern era of time. I haven't read any of his other books yet. What i just read are the zahir, the alchemist. the pilgrimage, eleven minutes, and by the river piedra i sat down and wept. I hope to read some of his books again.

"Veronica Decides to Die" was the very first book I read by him and left me with the msg. that I chouls live each day as it was the last one. Veronika began to free herself and stopped trying to be 'normal' once she thought her life would end soon.

I have read many of his books, in Spanish b/c I believe it's closer to what he originally wrote in Portuguese, but I am having a really hard time finding "The Valquiries". I'm also confused by the change in titles, is 'The Pilgrimage' the same as 'El Peregrino"?

I found this post interesting.....and when i read 'Veronika' it was everything I knew to be true...that all those 'outside the institute are mad' (not quote) because they believe that by being the same as everyone else, they are 'normal': Paulo gives freedom to be individual, and that is my LOVE, and I'll pay dues forever - because my own flesh n blood had left me for just that.....!?

Everyone is different - that is how we are all the same.
And we all love, because we are not alone in our thoughts when an Authority can put our thoughts into words, the way that Paulo does.

Thanks be with you.
