   The French constantly use the expression “C’est normal,” which, I always reply, means “Ce qui me convient.”

   Most appropriate, I believe, are Alain de Botton’s
   references to “The Common Knowledge”, i.e;, what the bougeoisie believes, in terms of iconoclastic reactions based upon the standards of others, hence the confused and superficial, what Socrates had in mind, I think, when he said, “The unreflected life is not worth living.” Or Schopenhauer: “Approval by the crowd is equivalent to an orchestral conductor being applauded by an audience of the deaf.”
