What role does a writer play in the society?

The same as a gardener or a taxi driver: do your job with love and enthusiasm, and people will be affected for the better.

Amen to that!
We are all connected to one another and we all have our own important roles to play. If everybody thinks that the writer has a greater role and if everybody wants to be a writer, who would then become the gardener, the driver and teacher and musician and doctor?
Then nobody will ever drive us to where we NEED to go, nobody will ever cure us from our sickness or teach us what we NEED to learn or sing the songs we want to hear.
That’s why we need to do our specific roles with LOVE and enthusiasm. I believe if we do so, then this will be a better place to live in.

We are all in the same boat, all connected.
The gardener, taxi driver or writer have a role to play in this Universe - no one is superior or inferior to anybody - Each one of us is as important.
As long as we fulfill our mission in life :to serve to the best of our abilities,that is all that matters.

I agree,I know you can reach alot of people through writting,but so do movies and songs,every job is important in society ,a beautiful garnden can move people too,and a taxi driver has an important role in society ,he gets people to where they need to go,and some of the best conversations can be had with a taxi driver…a writer tells a story ,and we all tell our selves stories in order to live .Blessings Tania

A humble man ! - as always!

I cannot agree with You on this matter though.:-)
I know that every job is important, especially if someone is doing it with love and enthusiasm
but
the writer’s role is much bigger than that!
Why ?
Because he can reach many more people than others,
he can touch people’s heart and
change their lives for the better.
More,
he can change so much in their minds, their hearts, their souls so they can -
- together - change the world!
I know it doesn’t happen over night but it happen sooner or later.

And there’s one more thing -

YOU - PAULO,
not only a writer -
- YOU ARE THE WARRIOR OF THE LIGHT!
and all of us, who love You - want to be like You.

You are our inspiration for life ! ! !
