Today’s Question by Aart Hilal

What is it to be a woman in a post-feminist, post-sexist world? Do you have in your mind an ideal picture or portrait of a/your woman?

In Veronika decides to die, I stress the fact that trying to find models to life is a step towards destruction. For example, there is a masturbation scene in Veronika that she opens herself to her fantasies, and then she thinks she is sick. Why? Because people are always trying to find the ideal portrait of a man or a woman. We are different, and this is the magic and mistery of life.

I don’t think that we should follow the idea of an ideal woman or man.
    Why?
    Because we wouldn’t be free.
I think that someone who’s true at heart, who can love - is already an ideal person.
Nobody has to be perfect, simply because this would never happen anyway.

    …….
    If there’s no perfect world,
    no perfect man on earth,
    why judge someone who love,
    or someone who’s sad
    and afraid?
    …….

I would say, that it is better if we follow God and try to become a better human being.

    and

Live your life like there’s no tomorrow!

    love

a woman in 21st is struggling with many new problems, which were caused by modern society. beacuse of her new way of life which is wide open and full of new experiences, sheis in chaos of making choices. she’s not more secure, she is mostly all alone beacause of this “posemancipation”.
we are far away from ideals, we just need them to stay on the way making ourself more and more better…
today woman know a lot of things about herslef , about her way of life…it is just that she needs beside her another person - good, real man, that will fulfill her nature.

While we discover our portraits which are being painted moment by moment ,there is no need to look like other works of art…Be unique and colour full and speak for yourself, the brush strokes just make it more interesting !!

we must recognize both sides in ourselves, so i am aware of some male and some female aspects that make me a person and that come to action depending on the situation and on the other people that i interact with…
i actually want to become a human, rather than an ideal woman.

Woman in this post-feminist, post-sexist world does not think about what being a woman mean. Instead, she insinctivelly knows it by listening the voice of her soul. Feels familiar with every life period without doubting her selfdefiniton or recognition. Sees men as partners and friends without being superior or subordinated to them. Does not fight for anything, does not play any “social” roles. Just lives her life without being any archetype.
