<description>Incredible what a couple of decades makes. You now have individuals in the world being able to instantly participate with their opinions through the marvel of the internet.

Its clever to call upon people for opinions because many an ordinary bloke can come up with an ingenious idea, they just may not have resources or ability to put it into action.

There is a woman in a war torn country of Africa who managed to get herself a computer and is trying to house, school these children who have lost their parents and who more often than not get drawn into the war. She feels that by giving them an education, a skill they will be able to help themselves out of this situation and she was calling on help (people to share their skills) via a blogging site. Apparently there are foreigners who pass through, aid workers etc that they would be able to sell to. I sent in a couple of ideas such as to draw essential oils out of the plants they have around and to make sun burn creams, medicines, perfumes etc. Also there was an inventor I think from England who created a bag that you could carry on your head so that when people had to collect water they didn&#039;t lose half of it through evaporation on the long walk back. We suggested sending books etc. but it was difficult because everything was watched, people are not even allowed to have cameras there. Another suggestion was to get in touch with Etsy.com which is a craft site - there are so many talented people who could teach how to make something out of the rubbish that gets blown down the street, even shoes and essentials.

Sorry for the long post. Its heartwarming to see positive action being made.
