Quote of the Day

By Paulo Coelho

Anything that occurs once can never occur again. But, should it happen twice, it will surely happen a third time.

It’s funny I remember a conversation with a friend a while back. I was asking her. What’s the second time? If the first time’s the first time, and the third times the charm. What’s the second time? She replied, “It’s just the second time, Karen.”

First time is “the first time.”
Second time is “Just the second time.”
    Third times a “charm.”

That is so true… it seems that this “law” rules my life..i don’t really know why..but that s the way it is with me…

I dont know , some say once bitten twice shy!!
Why would a person go back for more if something has occurred to upset them ..again would it be duty or guilt or fear of speaking up ,not repeating the same pattern …is what people try to change when things occur that they dont like or agree with..But then again some people can be gullible too..It depends on what has occurred I think?? Dear Paulo,

That is true, although I don’t really understand why.

I guess that some things are so special that they happen once in a lifetime.
They are like a special gifts from God, the miracles.

Both the good and the bad, happen for a reason.
Those good ones are to appreciate moments in life, and those bad ones to shake us, when we are not following the right direction, and if we’re not, then they may happen again, and again.

    love

Does anybody know how to spell
    Dè ja vous??
    -Paulo you’re in France..? ;)

I can make a coffee as many times as I wish.
I can recreate movements/moments over and over
but only to a certain extent
    once the moment is gone
    it is gone
    never to occur again
    but in similar ways

except for in Dè ja vous
when the Spirit confirms the path which was drawn in minute detail, to be recognized with faith, that our dreams are God’s dreams/plans for us, and because It -God, is outside time, things can happen once/twice/three times over time or simultaneously together

I agree. In a way it reminds of a a fab analogy I read a few years back - albeit in some chick lit :) Think of a pothole in the road. As humans we will often find ourselves taking this same particular road again and again whether through fear of the unknown, need of the familiar, choice, lack of self knowledge or plain stupidity. We will forget, ignore, be unaware, or deny that the pothole (relationship? self-image? career path? addiction?)is there and keep falling in. The pothole won’t go away but we can stop and take a moment to recognise it. One day we may even learn to walk around it. How many of us though will ever take the time out to fill it in for once and for all?
