Today’s Question by Aart Hilal

A favorite record, playing the radio – do these elements accompany your work? Or do you need complete silent?

Music is so powerful that I cannot write listening to anything else but the noise of my fingers in the keyboard of the computer. If I listen to music, I will be away from my desk, taken into the universe of notes and compasses.

Background music is a must when I write:) I can’t go a single second without it :) Of course if I were on a beach… that would be a different story:)

music is my life, the music must be present in every moment of my day, when I write sometimes the music help me to the inspiration and in my book often are described the song I had listen like a song that the protagonist listen in the story…

Music can be strong, deep, and also… so silent, that is like the sound of a bird singing…like a wind….
    Like Enya,….

I cannot concentrate to write when there are songs being sung, but i do like to play instrumentals whilst I write. I listen to songs and sing along when I paint, though.
My life consists of much music, I miss it if it wasn’t there…I found myself unable to have conversation over songs, like talking above someone, so then again, instrumentals in the background. I find too many distracting negative noises in the ’silence’ - laptop whining, car door banging, air-vent whirring, I hate it - but they say I am a good listener, so that must be good.
Yes, the music of the beach, or the forest…blissful.
    love to all

My ears are so sharp that I need some background noise while working. What I usually do is either play a song on repeat or listen to a soundtrack without lyrics. If it were possible complete silence would be prefered.
