Today’s Question by Aart Hilal

What type of music do you listen to – classical, jazz, rock… Does your mood or feelings influence on what you want to listen to at any given moment?

Any music at any time. I am a music freak.

I’m stuck in the “New Wave” music era. I like synthpop, rock, and trance music.
And yes, my mood and feelings have a great influence on my “musical picks”, and vice vers.

    Cordially,

Like every day is different, every moment, our feelings, moods, change. So does the music.
It changes with every feeling, every state of your mind, your heart, your soul.
When you feel excited, happy, full of energy and you want to dance like there’s no tomorrow, the music is strong, crazy, powerful, gives you wings to fly.
When you quiet, when you dream, or think about something, or.. somebody, you look for the feather light music.
Full of the sounds of nature, the sun, the waves, summer breeze,…..love.
Every music, every sound is beautiful, enchanted, and… your heart choses the one you need at the moment.
    You wrote so, didn’t You.

    love

I highly recommend a new movie called “August Rush.” Its about a most incredible child musical prodigy. This film engages you in varied music genres and uplifts the spirit and builds faith against the odds.

Just to add to what Liara said-

I did enjoy this movie, what i found most fascinating was the manner in which the two lovers gazed at each other. I don’t know why, but when they looked at each other, both dreamy eyes, it was as though you could see them fall.. deeply in love, with each other, with themselves, and with the music. Was rather beautiful i might add… :)

    Lots of love

I was thinking about music today, and its reflection of what it is we are trying to say-
I have and idea for you , I know you love writting and music and why dont you try your hand at writting a Broadway show maybe a musical /comedy about life/journey , something like the odd couple but maybe for women..I think or what about a love story /comedy just a thought and a change is as good as a holiday …Blessings Tania

I think you have great taste in music Paulo.

My latest addition to my collection is from the Gotan Project - “Santa Maria (del buen ayre). I first heard this on the movie “Shall we Dance” with Jennifer Lopez. I LOVE IT. Just makes you want to learn tango.

I love most genres. Each has a certain ability to reflect a mood.

Whether a person is spiritual or not, we all seek to get away from the stress, anger, and anxiety of everyday life. Some people drink, do drugs, or do worse to escape, and they hurt themselves in the process. Some people listen to music, mine included, and feel better. - YANNI

My taste of music is also widespread, but I have my absolute favourites - you know, those you would chose to take with you as an outcast on a lonely island. For classical music these are Bach, Debussy and Satie, for rock these are Queen and Supertramp, for Jazz these are Shirley Horne and Chet Baker and last not least a CD with compositions from Hildegart of Bingen “Celestial stairs” recorded by the Ensemble für frühe Musik Augsburg, which really sends your shivers down your spine.

Apropos music: La paserella di Otto e mezzo is awful.

    Annie,

    love to you too!
