    Oh yes,

For me the routine changes people into robots, closes their minds, their hearts, stops their growth.

If you let your imagination flow, it will open the door for the unexpected and your eyes will smile with this childish enthusiasm, over and over again.

It makes me think about the matter of “the other”, you treat in “Sur la rivière Piedra”.
I really felt it yesterday night. I was about to go to the cinema, but I mixed the time, and missed the film.

On my way back, I passed near a Hotel, that’s been really intriguing me for a long. I saw some words were writing into the hall, just under a painting of Virgo holding the Son. I took for mine. And enter into the hall. Immediately, I was amazing by the mystery of the place.
It was the second time, I came precisely here, but the first time, I’ve been shy.

But yesterday, I went towards the receptionist, and tell him:
“How beautiful there! May I read the words, please?”
    He said:
“Oh! You can visit all if you want. You can go to the boudoir, to the restaurant, to the first floor, to the second one…”
-It’s very kind of you! It seems that this place is…
    -Magic? He answered.
Then we laughed, and I visited the place, or maybe I could call it a museum, or even more, a path to another world.

At each floor, I noticed the clocks were not ruled at the same time. Something really oppressive between the first and the second floor. But mystery everywhere.

When I went down, the receptionnist was not there anymore. I And I smiled at it. Maybe he was in a cabinet somewhere, or else returned to his world.

Out in the street, I walked alone, but free. Myself very happy to have let live the “Other”. Even if I had not find exactly what I expected to.
A witness star in the dark sky, I was wondering why I did not take the lift.

    Magic

yes it s true, only of you change the things that you do, you ll change as a person. From the simplest things..I, for example , used to wake up and brush my teeth..completely mechanically..now i get up, prepare a cup of green tea, and go to the balcony to say good morning to the wind, to the sun, to everything around me..i welcome the new day…all this now is like a ritual for me..it makes me stronger to everything that may come up in the day..
    Love to all of you

If you always follow the same routine you are shutting yourself off from new experiences.

sometimes I think routine is important especially when it comes to getting children to bed at a certain time or have a school routine ,not to strict but there has to be some format to follow otherwise children would be chaotic and all over the place , I am not regimental but its about balance having order and harmony too…But my own time is not so routine it in the moment and flexible ..The only time I get routine with myself is when I write .And I have to , otherwise I would get nothing done ..discipline yourself when you have a goal , heres another thought young babies need routine and so does mum .If there where none then again it would be scattered energy ..I personally like a bit of a routine it keeps me grounded too.A mother likes her nest to have routine , order harmony ,contentment and lots of lots of fun and laughter play in between ..Blessings Tania

Indeed, it needs to get James Matthew Barrie’s soul, to imagine a new way to put children to bed, everyday.

I take the quote as saying don’t slack off on the routine things you do since they are “just part of the routine”. Basically pay attention to the details and bring life to them.

Children do need routine it’s a way of developing mental discipline, but one good mental habits have been created they also need room to explore and develop into their own unique beings. As adults when we always follow routine, life becomes monotonous, and bad habits can also follow.

But what is a routine - why is that? What is the rout cause of that? Is it an indolence or is it a fear? Might this be love? We can change how we do the routine things, but if don’t remove the route cause - can we control the new growing person inside us?

Every day I walk to work and I can see the same cars parked on the same car park’s spots despite it’s still almost empty, I can see people having the same breakfast every day (maybe they keep doing that in order to achieve of something?)or I can see how a change of weather can confuse and change all of them…

And then I see the sun-rise every morning and many other things in nature staying in a routine track… but they’re the rules thanks to which we can enjoy every single moment…

    Rule x Routine…

So much coming into my mind and that’s just because of two short lines of the text.

I don’t think it means throwing routines overboard all together.
Routines, if balanced, can contribute in the opening of perspectives.
For instance if we didn’t have a routine in walking, putting one foot in front of the other, we wouldn’t be able to see the world around us because we would have to focus too much on each step we take.
On the other hand we need it just as much to change routines in order to keep our spirit free…

Dear Petr, I dont think two sunsets or two sunrises are the same..And yes, the sun rises every morning but every moning i see different colors in the sky..a light blue, or an ocean blue, blending with pink or purple or orange..it is like Nature is painting the sky every day..yet She puts different colors!! So the action of the sunrise is a routine, but it s different every day, like a new soul is born every day..

Reading these lines, I suddenly realise I keep my routines as superstition: if I do certain routines, the day will go in the same way as yesterday and the day before…even if these days were not so good. It means I find it easier to live with the certainty that life goes by as I know it, although it is not at its best, than live with the possibility of change…wow, I must really look into this and find a way to change my ways.

    Thanks & love

Its meaningful to promote continued self-discovery.

That is quite right, and all you need to do is become aware of your routine and enjoy it!

Enjoy the process, do it consciously and look for something good within: there always is, GO FOR IT and learn from it; just as you said also esteban!
