Today’s Question by Aart Hilal

In your novel “The Valkyries” the main character is Paulo Coelho. Is this book autobiographical?

So it is in “The Pilgrimage”, and in a paragraph in “Veronika decides to die”. When writing, you have to base your work in something that you experienced, although inspiration plays a very important role.

What about the Zahir? I thought it was quite autobiographical too.

Our daily and nighty experiences guide our ideas. It seems rarely that authors create completely the part, just by the use of inspiration. I think it’s merely impossible. And that’s great! It solves real problem on Earth.

Yet, other imaginary worlds we have to deal with as monsters and unexisted things: where does it come from?
