Some consider that Portuguese language as a grave for literature, as it is so difficult and not widely used in world. But through translation your novels are widely read in many languages. So what is your relation with translation from Portuguese, its positive and negative effects on your native language and its aesthetic values?
Portuguese is my mother tongue, and it is a beautiful language. A translator cannot create a book- and good translators are able to understand the deepness of Portuguese.

The Portuguese were known to love the sea and Fado are an expression of that I think. I always like listening to the Fado song – it gets you right there –
I knew nothing of Brasilian’s poetry or novels when I came onto this site, I just discovered it as I went along, I was pleasantly surprised to see and discover the richness of it all.
Portuguese is a warm language. And portuguese songs are beautiful.
Maybe some writers translated in the past. But they may be rare indeed. It reminds me a dream.
Blessings.
Dear Paulo:
In the some token, I will became a writer… and perhaps you will fall in love for me…?
Dear Paulo:
I have a crash on you…
It’s not unusual that a reader can fall in love with the writer…
Dear Paulo:
You sound good in many languages…
I like Portuguese, in fact I’m planning to learn it in a close future. It’s very similar to Spanish which I adore speaking and listening. I’ve heard Paulo speaking in English, Spanish, French, but it seems to me that when I see him and hear him speak in Portugese, that’s real Paulo.
Never mind which language you speak, ’cause everyone can feel and understand the messages of love.

Every language is beautiful, like a melody of the soul of the country it comes from.
I love all the latino languages, they have the breeze of the ocean and the sun of the hot summer in them.
Make you want to fly up high… free like a bird.
