Before anything, just to tell that I am that teenager in Rio, in 1976, who came from POA (Porto Alegre) for the “Sociedade Alternativa”, without having a clue what that really was…
I just wanted freedom from my parents, to be who I really was…
If you did not read my email, THANKS so much for what you did for me at the time, introducing me to Mick Jagger and those musicians, and being so kind all the way.
Great to have read the Alchemist and the Fith Mountain (why not The Mount Five?); anyways, even though different, both sound great.
The Fith mountain (O Monte Cinco), is the best book I have ever read in my life; uma “Obra Prima”. It deserves a great film. How much it touched me.
I finished reading The Valkyries last week, and am now reading Veronika decides to die.
I was still enjoying the purity and wisdom of the Fifth Mountain, when I started the Valkyries, and you were right in the beginning of the book, that some readers would may become in a way disappointed with certain things. I had been praising you for not being too literal about more mundane things in the Alchemist and in the Fifth Mountain, so: “I did not want to listen to (or, to read) certain things”; but, you know what? The true reason you wrote that book, was because you knew there was wisdom hidden in that story, and the way an author talks about wisdom is true elling a story (and you are a great storyteller), so I had to a accept the story to get what I wanted, which was the wisdom in it.
I could not believe that at the end there was even more wisdom, of the type I had to learn, in that book than the others; and I will have to keep it, and yellow mark it, and study it, and I hope God hears me… because I need it.
My main challenge is: “how to stop raising my hand against myself?”
How to stop the cycle of not allowing myself to succeed, exactly after I “get it”?
Not easy, but thanks so much for the reminder.
The book is very well written, though, as you are a great writer; and as you can see from this blog, I was the only one who wanted the purity I read in the other two books to continue till the end of the world; other people seem to be totally ok with it, and perhaps need that language, those images, etc.
Congratulations for touching people’s hearts. I have no doubt God is using you. The Fifth Mountain was you as an apostle sending the Good News to the four corners of the world.
I hope I can somehow do this, if it is not asking for too much.

Non sò se sarà in grado di comprendere le mie parole, non sò nemmeno se leggerà mai tutto ciò e se sia il modo giusto ma purtroppo non conosco la lingua inglese e mi avvalgo solo della mia lingua =).
Volevo farle i miei complimenti!
Lei è un maestro di insegnamento nella mia vita e credo non solo, i suoi libri mi donano sempre qualcosa e sono convinta che continuerà a regalarci emozioni come solo lei sà fare.
Spero un giorno anchio di poter raggiungere la mia Leggenda Personale, e sono sicura che sarà così!

Pues a mi me sucecio algo extraño con las lecturas de “Las Valquirias” y “El Zahir”, Empecé con la primera y continué con la Segunda, y no hallé el momento en que se separaron las dos obras.
“Las Valquirias” Inspirada en el Amor y la continua admiracion a la Pareja en sus nuevas etapas, novela muy enriquecedora, donde ahondamos la fe en aquellos seres celestiales que nos acompañan.

Je tiens beaucoup à vous féliciter pour la façon dont vous rédiger vous livres.

C’est vraiment magique,j’aime beaucoup votre façon de voir les choses et de les expliquer à vos lecteurs.

Quand on plonge dans un de vos livres, on ne peut plus s’arréter, c’est tellement fascinant que l’on a toujours soif de lire la suite, et hâte pour la sortie de nouveaux livres.

A vrai dire, je ne suis pas à grand lecteur. Tout à commencé il y’a quelques mois.

Une de mes amies a été tellement fascinée par votre fameux livre “l’Alchimiste” qu’elle m’ont parlé à plusieures reprises, elle me l’a vivement recommandé de le lire. (D’ailleurs je la remercie!! c’est fille trés sympa vous savez? lol).

C’est alors à ce moement là que j’ai pris les choses en mains et j’ai commancé à le lire.

Je vous avoue que une fois plongé dedant, je ne pouvais plus m’arrêté.

Parfois je laissais même mes livres de sciences de côté pour avancer dans ma lecture, cela m’aide beaucoup pendant la periode des révisons pour les exams.

Il y’a une motivation immense qui se dégage de vos livres!!
C’est devenu pour moi un pure moment de bonnheur.

Depuis, j’ ai lu d’autres livres de vous “Véronica décide de mourir”,”comme le fleuve qui coule”,”sur le bord de la rivière piedra je me suis assise et j’ai pleuré”,”maktub”…

Je vous remercie encore une fois, pour le bonnheur que vous apporter à nous, les lecteurs.

I love this story. But when I take this seriously, I find myself being unable to abandon old self. But I am trying now. And I started to feel the sense of protection. For example, in a very crowded train in a rush hour. I want to feel my guardian angels. By the way are courage and faith same thing?

I read the Valkyries some time back. It amazed me that it was a true story. More, because you seemed to be able to share what you really thought and felt with the whole world. I have never been able to open up to people so easily!!
