In your book Pilgrimage you described 3 possible different meaning for love: Eros, Philos and agape. Does eternal love exist according to you?
Love itself is eternal ” we are made of Love. However, the manifestations may be ephemerous ” it is like a tree, that may have some different leaves in this summer, and totally different leaves in the next summer. Love is the tree, the manifestation of love are the leaves.

Dear Paulo,
It is a process of continued renewal,no?
:)
If the tree is love then it's eternal, and the leaves.. are just the same, only different in their external beauty.
and Annie,
the tree without leaves still have the memory of them inside for as long as it lives; …. they both…eternal..
the passion…becomes agape..
love

Great lines.I enjoy your opinions on love.I feel you make me understand better many thing in real life. These was a nice metaphor.
I am happy!! Today we have three Greek words,to think about their meaning.[I am Greek Cypriot]. I am proud we have the exact word for everything. EROS = is the passion, the love which makes us forget ourselves and become one with the object of our ..divine love! FILIA [filos] =friendship. This sentiment may be known to everyone, but true friendship is very rare. AGAPI means LOVE, love for God, love for life, love for our parents, love for our children and ..love for our husbands/wives!!! ETERNAL LOVE, I believe, exists in our fantasy, our dreams and in our…oaths we make whenever we are in love…Of course it is our ideal, but who can tell that there exists eternal love in this world?? Love Thelma
