Reflections of the Warrior of the Light - The right tolerance

By Paulo Coelho

A warrior of the light always keeps his heart clean of feelings of hatred. When he goes to fight, he always remembers Christ’s words: “love your enemies”.

And the warrior obeys.

But he knows that the act of forgiving foes does not force him to accept everything. A warrior cannot lower his head - otherwise he loses sight of the horizon of his dreams.

The warrior notes that the adversaries are there to test his strength, his persistence, his ability to make decisions. They are a blessing - because it is they force him to fight for his dreams.

It is the experience of combat which strengthens the warrior of the light.

  • Let's take two villages. On the first one there is war, famine, and people hurt each other for just a little rest.
In the other village, people share and love and their children arrive on it in a harmonious present, within Nature.

That's the idea of the french writer Jean-Jacques Rousseau. And I quite agree with. Though many others thinkers may have told it before him, and though (it said) he abandonned his children, he wrote: “Man is inherently good, the society corrupt him”.

Mimesis is a best enemy, because he only let traces on his path.
Mimesis is a very good friend cause it can be contagious, raising light feelings.

  • Today I was lead to this:

“Imagine the foolhardiness of settling anything with war! That is like saying, “I will settle down to sleep by staying awake!” Settle matters with war? Why, that is a way to be unsettling. By what right can wars be declared? By what right can wars be fought? And yet there are even wars among families. Why not, when wars are always against something in yourself?

Whatever someone wants to do, he will find reasons for it. Whatever you want, you will find reasons for. If you want to fight, you will find reasons to fight. If you want to make peace, you will find reasons to make peace. You can find reasons galore for anything you want. Is it possible you want fear? For what other reason would you have so much of it? Do you really think you can make friends with fear? I suppose if you think you make peace by wars, then you can think that fear is the way to freedom from fear.

If I ask you, “What need is there for fear?” in a lucid moment, you would say, “None.” Yet when you are in the midst of fear, you might, in a shaky voice, give Me a long list.

Beloveds, you do not need the armor of fear any more than the world needs wars.” God through Gloria Wendroff.

I really understand nor anger nor fear are worth. Since I can’t find an issue with my brain…
Maybe some actions against your creation are unbearable for me. :(

    Thank you

  • It is best to thank your enemies for making you wiser ..It takes alot more energy to hold a grudge for ever and a day or it takes courage and strength to ask your heart and God to not let you have these feelings about another, one of his children …(your own brothers and sisters in fact) .
It might make you work a bit harder ,but that is how you build strength and character .
And as we know Rome was not built in a day and neither is the warrior .
    Blessings Tania
Have a joyful weekend -Your pictures are amazing ,I hope you had a good celebration ..

  • “Love your enemies as I loved you”

To my mind, this sentence can’t be cut as “love your enemies”. Indeed I never heard it like that.

    Now I can imagine:
It is a fact that there were always wars and hatred on earth since the beginning. While love and share was a company for some people.
For a long time, Kings have been existing, in front of people that had infinitely asked for a better life. Those kings, and because they have been envying more lands, more materials, more secrets and more witnessed objects of God, -who could say why-, they’ve been using the other part of humans towards these conquests.

So now, after all these years, we can think about a genocide, not on blacks, reds, yellows or poors, but humanity.
Bless our children died in all those blind terrors.
Of course, people could refuse to make war, moreover since they don’t know the ins and outs, nor how to get them.
Gandhi understood so quite well, when he set in motion that non-violent crowd, conducted by his wisdom and the people’s fear of losing him. Also, he met politicians to make things change, he did not obtain things, only thanks to fasts. But still, what an example…

In our days, there is an idea that comes as a vogue, that can’t still fit with my brain. The fact to love one’s enemy, period.
I guess it is the wise way to go forward and improve oneself, but, who is my enemy?
My enemy could be my neighbour, my brother, some president, or maybe you, reading me…
But there is a significant difference between my neighbour, my brother, some president, or maybe you, regarding to the hatred I could feel. As my neighbour and my brother and you are from the people, whereas president deals with kings.

That’s why discouragement is growing. When my enemy is my neighbour I could fight with him, or merely talk with him. And I know that the end of the fight is suddendly a possible issue. I know I can create a better place with my neighbour, but as for kings, I have real doubts.
I know we can’t make a scale with love, neither hatred. But kings create a real ladder, one has the right to climb, and the other not. Of course, to climb, you should better forget the word “love”. And as much the love is growing in heart’s people, as much the organizations are becoming higher without reach, to offer better manipulation.

One century ago, one could hope for an arousal. One could hope the kings had heart, though they were nearly all the same. But what about nowadays? History and Daily prove us they don’t want to take this chance to change.
Organizations that seem to make the world more equal are all corrupted. It is easy to read it, just by having a look in their treaties and votes, acts and laws… it is easy to see their rotted fruits now.
When Jesus said that we had to love our enemy as he loves us, indeed it doesn’t mean we have to accept everything.
If He is a metaphor of love: in the whole love he was gifted, it happened he was in anger, and had hatred sometimes. Even through his apostles. From apocryphals to New Testament, it happens. Yet, he showed by his passion, that he could go through hatred. And so was the wish of God: Jesus lived the unbearable.

Some could say I divise people in two, but that’s maybe one of the biggest question of my life. I had at least 30 years to observe these enemies. My position of human brings me to judge them, though I do sometimes. I just say how it is. If men created a justice court, it is well to judge the weaks, isn’t it? Nevertheless, bigger murders are free.
Fashion says I’m the author of all that hatred. Do I have to accept that? I’m wiser and wiser each day. Lover and lover each day. Millions of people have become pacifists. That’s a truth.
Fashion says I’m guilty for other’s mistakes or murders. Because sometimes I made bad things? Notice that we explain more and more to people, that the torturer is the victim. And people believe in it.

Do I agree that some persons have not a drope a water to drink, nor food to eat?
Do I agree with all war deads since the beginning?
    Do I agree with crimes?
Do I agree with polluted water?
Do I agree with atomic bombs?
    Do I agree with OGMs?
Do I agree with political tricks obsessed with materials rather than animals and nature?
Do I agree with bankers that ruin our economy and steal people everyday?
Do I agree with the nuclear attempts that cause the anger of elements and destroy root-and-branch cities?
Do I agree with the torture and slavery on animals?
Do I agree with all that detestation of God’s creation?
No I don’t. It doesn’t mean I hate those who do that.

People don’t know. People are good and confident. And all those came to give hope to our heart, while they were dealing with politics, were assasinated…
Getting better and better everyday, while they are devastating the whole? This is the very point…
“Ayuda en tu calle” cuando hacen explotar bombas en la otra?
I totally join up with your wise words, but still, my heart tells me there’s something wrong with it. Something wrong in the fact of forgetting Kings acts of hate, at each second. We can be in love and still not be blind.
But, truly, what we are supposed to do?
At last, should I love the devil? There’s quite a non-sense in this blind love, when kings are destroying us… people love, but still has bank account, use cars everyday, show stupid things on TV, look for a job for a house for money for beautiful cars… We are already accepting the devil each morning we wake up.

Gandhi had to make India independant. Our chore is bigger: will the seed be divine…

That’s why there is love, and love…

  • Dear Paul , yes, forgiveness opens new doors..your heart feels lighter when forgiving those that offended you or yourself when offending others…

    Hatred pollutes the wol’s soul..
And as Gandhi said this world would be blind if we applied the tactic “eye for an eye”…

  • Paul from Austria

This one is very hard for many to believe & understand, but it is so true.

As I was out running this morning, I suddenly started thinking about someone who had deliberately & maliciously spread negative propaganda about me. My legs immediately started to feel heavy, and as soon as I felt this, I began to work against the negative thoughts, by forgiving the said person. I immediately felt lighter and continued my run effortlessly.

It’s difficult but very necessary, and if we were perfect, we wouldn’t need to live our personal legend…;)

    Love, Paul
