Reflections of the Warrior of the Light - The small things

By Paulo Coelho

The warrior of the light pays attention to small things, because they can get in the way.

A thorn, however small, causes the traveler to interrupt his journey. A small and invisible cell can destroy a healthy organism. The memory of an instant of fear in the past, can often cause cowardice to return each morning. A fraction of a second is enough to lower the guard for the enemy’s fatal blow.

The warrior is attentive to small things. Sometimes he is hard on himself, but he prefers to act in this way.

“The devil resides in small things,” says an old proverb of the Tradition.

I’m thankfull to read this today it gives me again an affirmation on what happened yesterday…I may say that the devil resided in a small thing…

Light, love and praying helped me to solve this problem…and yes I have to stay alert…especially for the small things.

Nobody can stop love… so I go on.

A fraction of a second can change the course of a single life or the the whole world. The Warrior, “must” be aware of this, because a momentary lapse of concentration can be absolutely fatal. Even when we are resting, we are aware of this, and we never dare to let our guard down, because the devil can enter through the tiniest aperture.

I think the magical word here is Awareness, as Paul says above
(Ok dear Paul ;))We have to be alert every single minute..even when we are tired..
But should we always give attention to the small things that may annoy us??Sometimes it does not do good and they get in the way. i mean concentrating on one thing can inhibit us from seeing the whole picture..I know this because, i tend to give attention even to the smallest of things, and maybe sometimes i make them look bigger, and that is not right, because i dont give to it the right perspective..And so the small thing becomes big..
I remember the story Paulo had put in the blog, when he visited a small village in Japan (??maybe i m wrong) and despite the pain he felt he tried not to concentrate on this (the pain)and that set him free..
