what is maktub?.i read the whole novel ‘the alchemist’ but could not understand what do maktub means!

true… we travel the whole world to find somethin n return empty handed.. n once we sit back n relax, look into ourselves, we find all the answers-everythin inside ourselves only.. its jus the matter of tim.
