What makes me suffer

By Paulo Coelho

Rabbi Moshe de Sassov gathered his disciples in order to tell them that he had finally learned to love his neighbor. They all thought that he had had a divine revelation, but Moshe denied this.

- In fact - he said - this morning when I went out to do some shopping, I saw my neighbor, Esther, talking to her son. She asked him:

“Do you love me?”

The son said yes. So Esther went on:

“Do you know what makes me suffer?”

“I’ve no idea,” replied the son.

“How can you love me, if you do not know what makes me suffer? Try to quickly find out all the things which make me unhappy, for only then will your love be impeccable.”

And Rabbi Moshe de Sassov concluded:

- True love is that which manages to avoid unnecessary suffering.

Quote of the Day

By Paulo Coelho

We all live in our own world. But if you look up at the starry sky, you will see that all the different worlds up there combine to form constellations, solar systems, galaxies.

Today’s Question by Aart Hilal

How did you discover the city of Lourdes? Was it Lourdes that brought you closer to the Virgin or was it the other way around?

It was the Virgin that brought me to Lourdes.

Back to the Past

After spending the whole weekend seeing movies on Iraq, reading news about the state of the world today, I decided to go for a while to the past. Of course, this changes nothing, and it can be seeing as scaping from reality, but so what? This is how I feel now, back to a time in my life where we had our problems, our challenges, but reality was, believe or not, more real than our manipulated “reality” today.

Enjoy the sound of music.
