A long time ago, I remember you saying that you did’nt not want to sell the film rights to your books… so now I had better get reading quickly so that I may finish all of them before they are indelibly etched in celluloid… I never want to watch a film based on one of your books before I have read it first! And I may never watch a filmed version anyway. They will never replace the videos of your books that I produce in my head. Never-the-less congratulations and those two guys seem as though they are in touch with your principles…
Loved the conversation :) and looking forward for the story of Maria depicted on screen..
Love and Graditude

p.s i hope you ll tell us things behind the curtains too!! :)
Now we have three of your books, Paulo Coelho, taking their way for the ..big screen. Veronica decides to die, The Alchemist and Eleven Minutes.. I am sure they will come out marvellous and you are there supervising the whole task, so that they will represent you.The 100 million people who have read your books will be eager to watch the films..LOVE, THELMA
I’m curious as to what the films are going to be like, if I’m not mistaken this would be the third adaptation on Paulo’s books, Veronika decides to die is already in post production, Alchemist I believe is in development by Laurence Fishburne… and all of them are being directed by very different people… Can’t wait to see them…
OMG - I love this book so much ,I cannot wait to see it on screen ..It will do so well such a wonderful story ,so it appears you have the right people on the job .I still love the book but I also love movies too ..look froward to it Paulo ..blessings Tania
Already in January? so they will start filming this autumn? Does it mean we get both “Veronica decides to die” and “Eleven minutes” in 2009?
What made you change your mind about having your books filmed?
Or is it only the Alchemist you prefer not to have made into a movie?
It will sure be interesting times coming!

Yes, Fantastico..Exciting, so exciting. I love Seven, Alexander, 300… Although many people I’ve talked to find 300 is ONLY Special Effects…Go easy on the special effects dear producer. Well, men love them I guess. Seems this producer always casts big stars, I’m curious to see who he picks for Maria, and the other characters. Will Brad Pitt accept a role as a prostitute customer?!!!
I can not wait!!!I hope you stay close to make sure everything works well.I say this because the book is dealing with issues that if they are examined superficially they might be misunderstood. At least that is what I have understood by talking with people who have read it.Personally, I loved it!!
I would also like to say that is wonderful that you are sharing things with us..
Love,
Lia
For some reason I just wanted to recommend the movie Gia, about supermodel Gia Carangi, starring Angelina Jolie. In my opinion this movie has a similar story line to Eleven Minutes, and perhaps is the best performance I’ve seen by Angelina Jolie.
@ Hildegarde, I liked your comment. Thank you, my friend, you made me smile..
These “Eleven minutes”: dream, paradise, communication, sharing of the senses, warmth, fire, ice, loneliness, disappointment, expectation, forgetting of oneself, self-assurance, self-esteem, self..destruction. The erotic kiss! It is the exchange of Souls, Aether, Breath, the breath of …God. The full.. acceptance or …complete rejection.. Of course, the Universe rotates around..EROS, the Greek God. LOVE, THELMA

I’m happy for you Paulo, I’m sure it will be as fascinating as the book; I always loved the story of Maria.

My brain worked out so easy with your words Pablo, will the silver screen do the same? I don´t think so.
Congratulations, anyway. Of course I can´t wait to see 11 minutes of outrageous production.
