Yes, I have seen this drawing a few times. Like many of Eschers drawings my eyes are active and amazed at what I am seeing. The words movement and direction comes to mind when I look at this piece. Escher was truly a gifted artist.

Escher…bem capcioso..muito louco . ….Um jeito “todo especial” de ver a vida. E ele não teve preconceitos em dizer isso .
Escher me faz lembrar o bailarino Nijinsky, que amava a arte, a beleza que ela mostra.
Beijos,
Mari Raphael.

this this picture, life is also an illusion. One day you wake up nd find that actually it is not as complicated as we treated it. It is simple.

One boy is sad and others are blowing some instrument. it seems that everyone is trying to make him happy. The lady is coming to her to comfort him.

Incredibly clever. I’ve seen drawings like this one where it can look either way. I feel like my eyeballs are being flexed inward and outward lol

Makes you think, is all that you see really as you think. Should be called the alternative viewpoint.

I have read in Wikipedia that Escher had a mathematicians mind…This image gives me the impression of the ‘Eternal Now’. Life, space and time. Escher seems to ‘play’ with Einstein’s theory of relativity and the Universe. Time is the fourth dimension.
