Quote of the Day

By Paulo Coelho

We do not need to know “how” or “where”, but there is one question that we should all ask whenever we start something : What am I doing this for?

In my case right now, the answer is to find my strenght to help myself, so I later on can help others to find their strenght.

I agree with what u are pointing out here…sometimes u start something even without realising why…but we really should ask ourselves why we want to do that certain thing and after that act upon it…in this way things will take their natural course for the better…The hows and wheres are not important, we should not worry about them, the most important is to know why you want to do it, if it makes u happy or not…otherwise is pointless. When you have one aim in mind, and inside of your heart you feel happy about it , you can really succeed in achieving it…,
thank you very much, georgiana luv u for everything that u do for us Paulo

Asking yourself “why I am doing this” it is very important as you protect yourself from regretting, from losing your time for something that was not even important and finally it helps you stay focus to your aim.You know what you want to do,why you want it so you do it!

By asking this to ourselves, we become aware of every single minute, of our every action, and of our Being Alive….

Asking and answering this question makes one sure of his actions, makes him responsible to them and keeps him focussed. Making it a habit will definitely help one to grow up and mature. Yes. I am going to practice it, so that I wont have to feel sorry as often as I do now.

We have to be sincere and know deeply in our hearts the purpose of our actions.
Only, when we deeply believe that our aim is driving us towards the Light and our heart and mind do not have any doubts, we will be passionately able to achieve our goals.
    Doubts, afterthoughts and .. ’sirens’, may make us be lost in the way..[ We must never doubt our power and determination. I had doubts and lost the game!!}

I had my best moments when i didn’t know why and where and What for.
I’m not talking about getting out of my head or someting but for example creative and expressive activities often goes this way. It’s like being the stream with trust and without fear.
The what for or why sometimes need time to come down or comes in little pieces ( Lucky me that i like puzzling). Patience i learned on that, also the patience of not wanting to have all the answers immediately or just don’t ask the questions.
inally for me it’s a combination of why, what, what for and don’t know why. The order of rank determines the solution.

I haven’t had the pleasure to read The Valkyries yet. A long time ago an angle told me that if we ask “why”, we will pull our hair off. There are so many things we do which cannot be explained. So we try to do the Will of God, but most of the time we end up striving to please ourselves. Nihilism. Everybody thinks about themselves, only I think about me. The Will of God, how can we even get close to doing His/Her Will? May be God makes wishes to us, and we don’t get it? The same angle who told me to quit asking “why”, also told me I think too much, so I better quit now. Have a great week end everyone!

you write heavenly…Before I get to sleep I wonder if you ever have been to the city called Cefalu on Sicily, Italy. I was there this summer and I think you would like it as well…it´s a romantic city for pirates, an old pirate city with an old Cathedral. Everything is nice with this city…

    Dear Paulo,

Your book The Valkyries after I read it I gave it as present to photographer who took photos of me with your books.
She knew how much I like your work and she asked me: Why I’m doing it ? - giving your book away, it was not important “how” and “where” because “why” is the most important.
I gave it because that book was like reading myself but instead of dessert, my angels are in and above the sea where I swim and feel at peace with myself and with whole world.
I gave it to her to open the door for her as another person opened to me. I do not know if I succeeded in it but at least I tried.

I do not know always answer on “why” and most of times I am not asking myself at all. But once the question made it opens path to substance !

With love and respect I thank you for your questions.

I have been running in circles for an answer about a difficult situation for a while now asking my self the question why?
I draw a insightcard today and the answer was:

    DISAPPEARANCE OF SELF

The disappearance of self, lost over eons of time, can be returned
in a millisecond to its original state of being. The decision to choose love instead of selfishness returns the soul in its journey
    to its creator.
Can you show others to see the light, to see Love? You do not have
to carry them on your back forever and a day, just show them what
you know in your heart to be true.
They may resist of what you speak, for you challenge them to return
to a place where they can’t remember where they came from

And about this situation this answer was so obviuos when I draw this card.
So I thank my creator which gives me an answer when I´m ready to listen :-)
    Love
    Jessica

    Hi Mr.Coelho,
Like Luce I would like to share with you how I passed down The Alchemist to someone I use to work with. I would see her reading a lot, and asked her if she read The Alchemist and she said no. For some reason I thought I should lend it to her, and brought it in for her. She loved it and one day said her sister is reading it now. I was leaving my job soon and told her she could keep my copy of The Alchemist. I kinda did not want to but I felt it was the thing to do. It had a nice painting on the cover of a man with a child on his shoulder. A couple of months later I bought another copy of The Alchemist at a bookstore.

    Jessica,

True words of which you talk.
We must believe love as ours, while reason is from apart the sticky mass shaft of errant soul.

The left one is still very painy to grow. But I also thank my Creator, to give me the O my name was missing.

    Love

hmm…i have read some thing similar in an islamic text, it was about the prophet moses and prophet khizer. The story same.
    # And these towns: We have destroyed when they committed injustices, and We had appointed a fixed time for their destruction.

    # And recall; when Musa said to his servant, ‘I shall not desist until I reach there where two seas have joined, or I go on for ages.

    # Then when they both reached the meeting place of two seas they forgot their fish, and it found its way in the sea making an underground passage.

    # Then when they had passed over from there, Musa told his servant, bring my breakfast, we have no doubt faced great hardship in this Journey.

    # He said, please see, when we took rest near that rock, then undoubtedly I forgot the fish, and the Satan (devil) made me forget so that I may mention it and it took its way in the sea, it is strange.

    # Musa said, ‘that is what we wanted; then turned back retracing their footsteps.

    # Then they found a bondman from Our bondmen, whom We gave mercy from Ourselves and bestowed him, Our inspired knowledge.

    # Musa said to him, ’should I remain with you on the condition that you will teach me of the right things which you have been taught.

    # He said, ‘you can never stay with me.’

    # And how you will keep patience over that which your knowledge encompasses not?

    # Musa said, ’soon if Allah will, you will find me patient, and I shall not disobey you in any affair.

    # He said, ‘If you remain with me, then ask, not anything, unless I myself mention it.

    # Now both of them set out, until when they embarked in a boat, he cleaved it. Musa told, ‘have you cleaved it in order to drown its passengers, undoubtedly you have done a wrong thing.’

    # He said? ‘ Did I not tell you, that you would not be able to stay with me.’

    # Musa said, ‘catch me not for what I forgot and put not difficulty in my affair on me.

    # Again, both of them set out, until when they met a boy he killed him, Musa said. ‘Have you killed an innocent soul without his having killed another? Undoubtedly you have done a hideous thing’.

    # He said, ‘Had I not told you, that you could never keep company with me’?

    # Musa said, ‘If I ask anything to you after this, then keep not company with me; undoubtedly, your excuse is already fulfilled from my side’
    # Again both went on till they came to the people of a village, they asked the villagers for food, but they refused to entertain them, then the two found a wall about to fall, he set it up right. Musa said, ‘if you had wished, you could have taken a wage for it’.

    # He said, ‘this is the separation between me and you’; now I shall tell you the explanation of those things over which you could not have patience.

    # As for the boat, it belonged to certain poor people who were working in the sea, then I intended to make it faulty and behind them, there was a king who used to seize every perfect boat forcibly.

    # And as for the boy, his parents were Muslims, then we feared that he might involve them in contumacy and infidelity.

    # Then we intended their Lord might give them one better than he in purity and nearer in affection.

    # As for that wall, it belonged to the two orphan lads of the city and underneath it was their treasure and their father was a noble man; then your Lord desired that those two should reach their maturity and bring forth their treasure as a mercy from your Lord, and this I did, not of my own biding. This is the significance of those things on which you could not have patience.

Last night I had a dream, where I was told not to be afraid of God.It must mean something? And for patience I have learned the hard way. But I don´t really understand the story..

it’s quite similar in your book pilgrimage, when paulo knew the secret of his sword… and its simple as “what is the use of his sword when he had it”… because in life in doing something we should know first “what is this for?”

    love
