Many years ago I saw a painting of Pieter Bruegel in the Museum in Vienna. I remember I did not like it! Too many people, too much movement..
Today, thanks to you, Paulo Coelho, by looking at it again with my ‘mature’eyes, I can see the painter’s magnitude and, of course, paintings of that time are the …photos of nowadays.
Love,
Thelma

Bruegel…I got some prints from my mother-in-law in India…the daily life in this picture is quite gripping…and also has a bit of the mischief in it…
BTW I have started reading your weekly column in the Deccan Chronicle in India…

Wow, when I first saw the Image of the Day I didn’t think it was a painting. It looked like a scene made up of clay or wood, but the background looked like a painting(starting at the water).

Awesome. These Netherlandish proverbs(most probably during 1560) are also known as Topsy Turvy World.

How funny. I luuuv Peter Bruegel. His pictures have been used to find out how people lived back then. One of the things he shows is adults engaging in games and playing much more than we do now.
