Today’s Question by Aart Hilal

by Paulo Coelho on August 29, 2008

You are one of the few authors who give readers your books for free, I am sure that would have raised a lot of objection from your publishers, how did you deal with it?

Actually, all my publishers backed me up. Harper Collins, for example, decided to offer a new book of mine every month, for free reading. I’m putting them in my blog too: www.paulocoelhoblog.com

Thelma, I really like your idea of dating the arrival to your books into your hands, watching where your intuition leads you. I hope you don’t mind that I incorporate this into my own library now…

And, thank you, Paulo, for posting your books here on your blog for free. I appreciate your generosity.

Paulo is generous, he can afford to be, and he does it earnestly !
There are so many other persons that can do like he does but they don’t!
Yes, whatever you give for free and with love it comes back to you in some other way multiplied.
Harper Collins were wise to back up Paulo and probably they have to, or loose him !
This way he opened window where you can have a look in and if you like it you have found new friend !

I thank him: first for his work and then for his generosity
but most of all for The light of optimism that shines from his books !

Sant Kirpal Singh once said that “Gods gifts are all for free/nothing, just as the sunlight”
Sorry for my bad translation, from Swedish to English…

He meant that all his books were free and gifts, just like yours Paulo.

“The Fifth Mountain” now offered on your blog for free reading, is probably the one of your books closest to my heart and to my personal journey. However, I’m lucky already to own the paper back.

Again your generosity goes way beyond your online free posted books. What you publish in your blog every day is worth immensely much.

Thank you Paulo Coelho, once again for your generosity.
I have read ‘Brida’ from your blog, but I love the touch and smell of books. I feel so happy, whenever I buy a new book and write my name and date inside the cover. I, by this way can see where my Intuition has driven me…
Love,
Thelma
