roleplaying… in fact he was , as many men (also Greek gods) – very much in the chains of what he felt for women ;-)

I like the picture. But why does the head seem pasted? Thetis as a woman of course show submissiveness and Jupiter of course portraying the masculinity of man.

Yes, she is making a petition to him – for her son Achilles -
Iliad A’ 503 – Homer.
Achilles got mad at Agamemnon, so Thetis went up to Olympus to beseech Zeus (Jupiter)to punish Agamemnon.

She knew her son would die young and even had dipped him into the waters of the river Styx as soon as he was born to make him immortal but she missed a spot on his “heel”.

A Jupiter, very modern and with Hippie’s hair! Pour nymph Thetis, trying to seduce him or she is praying or trying to convince him to change his mind ???
On the clouds I see a Goddess watching. May be she is Hera, his wife, being jealous, of course!! The triangle and Eros, as always..
You see, in Greek we have so many words with different meanings for the word LOVE.
Love,
Thelma

Belen, I agree with you. Isn’t there something wrong with this picture? Shouldn’t he be on his knees in front of her? Yes, he is the great god, but so is she, a goddess. In the painting she is making her petition to him, when it should be him making a petition to her. Even gods should be gentlemen.

to me this is a very submissive representation of a feminine figure :/
that’s the first impression I got, and now that I look at it again… yes, I keep thinking the same :P

it’s a beutiful , sweet picture.
she shows love and devotion for him.
He seems to play his role of “king of gods” and “protector of the universe” until the end of times.
