The Warrior of Light knows the the old Arabic proverb that says: “God judges a tree by its fruits and not by its roots.”

Dear Satora,
Thank you for your note. I am glad you feel a true Cretan. That means that Cretes have been nice to you. I have never been there but I have heard it is a beautiful island, similar to Cyprus.
I have also heard that there is a very good Ophthalmological [EYE]clinic at the University there..
Love,
Thelma

Dear Thelma,
being here is part of my path and life lesson and at times it has not been easy — I can not imagine myself living anywhere else… in my heart I am a true Cretan … The nationality you get from the place where you are born (in my case US) is not always the one you are destined to have on paper or in your heart. If I could have chosen I would have preferred to have been born in Rio de Janeiro, where I was conceived — but we can not intervene and in the end it would not have changed my nationality. Some things are just meant to be as they are.. I have not lived in the US for many years - most of my life I been outside of the US in Europe. A little in France but mainly in Germany and now for many years here on King Minos Island…
Be well

Dear Daniel, Thank you for the new information given to me. To be honest what I wrote above was from the Wikipedia. Me, being Greek I like Mythology, but then our Orthodox Religion tried to put a barrier to this beliefs. They have tried at the theology lesson at school to speak about punishment and Hell.
I, was lucky, my parents, teachers and priest were open-minded. I have formed my beliefs from books, metaphysical sessions, films but mostly from my own experiences and intuition. I do not believe in the Power of the Church, or think that God lives in churches. I believe in Saints and in the power of Prayer and meditation.
Everything that you say above about fertility and Pan, I think that fertility and sex is about the material world. Our material body with the five senses belong to this world. We, as human beings have also a Soul and a Spirit. These three bodies in one co-exist and form ourselves, the I. If we vibrate with our ‘material body’ then we are affected by the creatures, the angels, the spirits and the Earth. Samael is the angel of it. The higher our vibrations become the more Light we absorb. At least, this is what I think.
One thing that I really deny is the abuse of drugs in order to succeed open the so-called ‘chakras’ and be able to acquire POWERS.
In order to be able to be masters of our three bodies, I think, we must be in a higher, lighter dimension and have achieved inner harmony.
LOVE,
Thelma

Dear Thelma, as far as I know, Neo-Paganism is an umbrella term that contains a large range of religions and beliefs including Wicca. Talking about Wicca, here Pan is seen as a Horned God, a symbol of fertility, happiness and music. Wiccans don’t even believe in a completely evil being like the Christian Satan. This association was probably made because… he has horns.
All the best,
Daniel

Thank for the comprehensive information Satora!
One of my favorite composers is Claude Debussy, who created the wonderful music of “Prelude a l’apres-midi d’une faune” (”The afternoon of a faunus”).
I myself like to play the flute very much (Now do not get the wrong idea again! - I really play the transverse flute!). Another composition of Debussy, which I love very much is a fantastic flute solo. It is entitled “Syrinx” - now I understand the coherences.
…and dear Hildegarde, please do not steel Pan’s flute - not for me. As you read here I have already one and the nymphs will perhaps be enraged if you do so.

Monika is right his pan-pipe (a flute on which he played music) is missing.. and she is not referring to anything else. He loved to chase after “nymphs” (now do not get the wrong idea again). The nymph “Syrinx” ran away from him and was turned in to bushel of reeds, which he made into his “famous” panpipes. Another nymph “Pytis” was turned into his sacred tree – the mountain fir (pine) and then we have “Ekho” who left her voice behind forever repeating the cries of Pan.. He is also associated with the Moon Goddess (Virgil), Rhea (Pindar), oracles (the nymph Erato being his prophetess), beautiful enchanting music and music competitions (listening to pan-pipes always gives me goose bumps), and the word PANIC – he loved/s to scare people and make them FEAR!
In ancient Greek art Pan is often pictured like Dionyssos – actually this picture with the grapes all around him is a little misleading …in my opinion.
Pan is linked to ancient Egyptian God Min (fertility etc…now here we have sex in the city……) who was worshipped at Akhmim (Panopolis).
Plato Cratylus:
Socrates:…
And it is reasonable, my friend, that Pan is the double-natured son of Hermes [whose name Sokrates derives from the word for 'speech'] . . . You know that speech makes all things (pan) known and always makes them circulate and move about, and is twofold, true and false . . . Well, the true part is smooth and divine and dwells aloft among the gods, but falsehood dwells below among common men, is rough and like the tragic goat [see note]; for tales and falsehoods are most at home there, in the tragic life . . . Then Pan, who declares and always moves (aei polôn) all, is rightly called goat-herd (aipolos), being the double-natured son of Hermes, smooth in his upper parts, rough and goat-like in his lower parts. And Pan, if he is the son of Hermes, is either speech or the brother of speech, and that brother resembles brother is not at all surprising.” [N.B. The chorus of the primitive performances from which tragedy developed appeared as satyrs, clad in goat-skins. Hence the name tragôidia (goat-song). The adjective tragikos may mean either “goat-like” or “tragic.” In this passage it has both meanings.]
We also have Aleistair Crowly “The Triumph of Pan” a nice little booklet to invoke him (guess who he means)…
Beware of “panolepsy” this is considered as being possessed by Pan….some would run into the woods and never return …now we would not want that to happen to you.
So choose “pan” (all things) wisely…

The Roman name of Pan is Faunus.He is a horned god of the wild and also of the innate instincts in humans or man.He was worshiped in Arcadia and is associated with sexuality.[That is why, our friends above, ask for his ..best part.!!}
Pan’s labyrinth refers more to the maze within, and finding ourselves and our own way.
In Neopaganism Pan is the symbol of Satan.

Very funny Monika - alot of these statues always show of there masculine parts ..big time ..but back to Pan did he or did he not seduce the Moon Goddess …then again with those parts he probably did … Blessings Tania

I think Gods like Pan here, are sparks of Light as we are, they are more evolved, that is why they are at the level of a God, but they are not the Source, they are still sparks of the Source. That is also why they don’t interact with humans the way they used to, because they too are in a journey, they got to keep traveling up the ascending spiral, we got to keep moving, we can’t stay stuck in the same level, we have to work our way up to the next level and the next and so on!!! So they have evolved even from their God status, and who knows where in their journey they are at this point, you know diferent levels diferent dimensions, although they do think about us some times and occasionally interact.

Pan makes them all happy with his dancing and drinking.
Addictions are kind of funny. A co-worker of mine had a rather peculiar logic yesterday. She had bought a new hand bag and was delighted to tell how she saved $100 buying it. She comforted herself. These hundred dollars saved, makes up for $80 she lost at the casino the same day! Needless to say she’s a game addict, and as most women loves her shopping. And we are masters convincing ourselves we’re doing the right thing, even when it’s wrong.
I doubt God is half goat, half human being, but it’s a funny figurine.

Pan was the god of shepherds and flocks. Hermes was his father, and his mother was either Penelope, the wife of Odysseus, or the nymph Callisto.
A famous tale ivolves Pan with the invention of panpipes, when
a nymph he was chasing was transformed into a stand of reeds to escape his advances. Pan fashioned the instrument from one of the reeds and named it after the nymph. :) music is everywhere :)
