  • if you notice, most people are on the top floor..Only two are not..the one on the balcony, and the other on the stairs…not even one speaks to the other, or is together with another person..each is alone..and follows his way, which in fact is the way of all..except of those two..

The one on the balcony is looking the other people, ascending and descending, acting like machines, maybe wondering if they have a switch to turn them off!!! ;)
The one sitting on the stairs is looking to another view…at first i thought that he held a guitar, but there is not guitar after all..What i understand is that this person is an artist, cut off from all the others, listening to the music of the Universe that surrounds him..

  • It’s like life. As you walk the path you’ve taken, you sometimes are up and sometimes you’re down. And sometimes we’re like soldiers, we just obey and follow the rules of the society that has been layed out for us. Ane because of the ups and downs we lose ourselves and just follow forget about our rules and our standards. Some, just leave and find their own way without being up or down.

  • I see they are all soldiers. That means maybe that there is no winner in a war, all can come to one turn? Or that is an allegory to those who are fighting for survival, that is a metaphor for Life? We all have to struggle here on earth.

  • Dear Sir,
it is really a very astounding picture.we are forced to contemplate about its meaning. It reminds me of Perumthachan-he was the greatest artist of Kerala ,a man of great intellect and caliber ,he is said to have built structures with uniquely astounding features .I have heard that, he had once built a bathing pond which had entirely different shapes when viewed from each of the four sides .
this is a wonderful picture ,just like the beauty of an adventurous life ,it raises challenges for those who contemplate about its meaning.any way thank you sir ,for such a beautifully thought provoking picture
wish you a very good day
    love

  • NADA ES LO QUE PARECE NI DESCIENDEN NI ASCIENDEN, TODO ESTÁ AL MISMO NIVEL. ES UN EFECTO ÓPTICO.

  • So much to look at. You can view the building at so many angles. I have looked into every archway, window, doorway, staircase. Very nice.

  • Ascending and descending, destiny and free will - no contradictions at all? Everything is relative, depending on your point of view?

  • Ascending and descending reminds me of our recent trip to London.. All the scales up and down, up and down, in the Underground!!! I was so tired..
Maybe the picture symbolizes the Wheel of life. The eternal journey.

  • I’ve seen this many times but for some reason, this time, it reminds me that it is the journey that is important, not the destination.

  • Incrível, as pessoas sobem na escada, e o topo da escada é o piso. Muito bem bolado!
