*Smiling* @ Annie and Thelma…and it’s thanks be to Paulo Coelho…we are here. Yes, I was born in Norway…and became an American citizen April this year…so now, dual citizenship, but my soul is very much international, no national boarders.
‘The girls on the balconies’, is so funny Thelma!

Dear Heart, you are from Norway. My name comes… from the book by Maria Corelli that my mother had read. a romantic story but …. wrong colour of the hair!!!
And I have just found that Thelma comes from the Greek word THELEMA = Will. So, our friend in the blog, was correct in calling me Thelema. A past life????

Thank you, Annie, Heart and everybody for your kind words. The poet of the “Denial” is Giorgos Seferis, the Greek Nobel Prize laureate in Literature, in 1963. It is said that this poem was inspired by the white shore of Cyprus.
Alexia, is a very good Cypriot singer, studied in America. I do not know but she has not done anything for a long time now. Angelic voice.
As for our life, dear Heart, being born in 1948, indeed we used to live a very ‘close and protected’ life. Shools for Girls and shools for boys. Going to cinema school- performances with the boys sitting at the groundfloor and girls on the balconies [And running to get the ..first places, so that we could have a ..view]. But all these prohibitions and austere rules could not prevent us from flirting and fall in love… in a platonic and romantic way, of course, and with ..serenates. So much frustration and so many ..illusions and dreams. I remember reading “Lady’s Chatterly lover” and the “Perfect Marriage” hiding!! Although, my father was a traditional greek-cypriot father, he allowed me to go to Vienna at the age of 16 for studying my piano.
LOVE,
THELMA

My dear Heart, thank you for your words..You are an inspiration by yourself…I think that the way someone looks other people, says much about the person himself.. So,(neither astonished or surprised ) i feel and can tell that you are such a wonderful person..I cant imagine what you can give to the world yourself..

Thank you Tania,
I think our planet Earth really needs all gifts and talents we have to come up with solutions, so life can continue to live on this planet.
To see our selves as a part of a bigger picture.
The smallest change will help if we all can contribute
with something :-)
It will be as spreading waves on the water :-)

Thelma, thank you for sharing this wonderful poem and music. When I visited Rhode and Athens in 1978, as a very young woman, I questioned why I didn’t meet Greek women much, only the men. Someone told me Greek young women wasn’t allowed on their own in public, and was hardly allowed to go to the theater without in company with a family member. Coming from Norway, where boys and girls were treated pretty much equally, I was very surprised.
Listening now to how this vocalist performs Mikis Theodorakis, I can tell we have one Greek woman with a Gift indeed! See how the hidden life can foster art filled with this deep, true soul. I appreciate so much, finally to meet you Greek women, Thelma and Annie, in this blog. What you can give to the world!

Whenever we make mistakes, we must think that this is another lesson. I always have in mind ‘Luck helps the bold’.
My dearest Annie, just because you wrote about writings in the sand I remember the poem :
‘DENIAL’By Giorgos SEFERIS
On the secret seashore
white like a pegeon
we thirsted at noon;
but the water was brackish
On the golden sand
we wrote her name;
but the sea-breeze blew
and the writing vanished
With what spirit,what heart,
what desire and passion
we lived our life: a mistake
so we changed our life.
Love,
Thelma

“The Gift belongs to whoever chooses to accept it”
who won’t accept it, if it appears as a gift, ultimately is it all a question of having the right eyesight, the right visison ?

It’s from the mistakes that we learn but a lot of people
don’t accept that we are making mistakes.
The reason were are so afraid to make mistakes is
the negative reations of the people, most of them
can’t react on a normal way, it should be done on a
respectfull way.

Paulo,

Yes we have to have acceptance and also that its ok to make mistakes along the way it happens thats how we learn ..!!
I love your way of explaining this Jessica !

Dear Paulo,
If the belief is strong, then fear vanishes.
When self esteem, faith and belief are weak, as it was in one period of my life, it is so easy to loose contact with The Gift.
I do not think that The Gift vanishes it just isn’t obvious in some moments of our lives.
But once accepted it blossms and bring its fruits.

How many things are lost because the lack of courage. It is enough that one time we should be able to do one “extraordinar” thing, and the ice is broken for good.I mean one single step towards our aim is able to change our destiny for ever.
[Reply]
Yes .. we have to believe in our gift, and that we can do whatever we put our energy in.
But if we have lack of energy, we have to find the source of this first and heal that situation/source.
Then also don´t be afraid to ask for help.
We all need to help each other in this world, give and take the flow of energy. Not only take and not only give. Not to be ashamed for needing help, instead see it as a strenght to be able to ask for it.
That´s one of thoose things I´ve learned on my path :-)
Warm love Jessica

Acceptance ….a journey to learn who we trully are…
And dont forget , through your journey,to write your mistakes in the sand, so as the waves of the sea wash them away
walking in the sands of time……..
