The Dream of God

Dear readers, rather than asking you a question I would like to ask your opinion on the following subject.

The Toltec, a pre-Colombian culture, stated that we are a dream of God. We can also be his nightmare and what distinguishes the good dream from the nightmare is our presence in this world. In a way, fulfilling our personal legend brings us closer to the good dream of God.

Yet many don’t do that and they blame others for this frustration: they put the blame on their family, on their boss, etc… Of course, all these excuses prevent us from doing what can truly fulfill us.

So, share here your opinion on this issue: where is society heading to? Are people fulfilling their personal legend or do you think that – on the whole – people are still paralyzed by the fear society infuse in them?

There are basically two ideas when considering the dream vs. nightmare question- heroism (in the form of self sacrifice, self actualization, and service) vs. tragedy. Of course, tragic events happen to people who are on the hero quest (Christ, for example, was crucified) and good fortune may visit the tragic hero, but the tragic hero. When someone’s personal legend leads down the path of tragedy, they cannot be happy, and rarely do they take responsibility for their own unhappiness (hence, blaming friends, family, spouses, etc.)… I suppose not realizing your own personal destiny leads to tragedy as well…some people can be happy without realizing their destiny (like the baker in the Alchemist) but many people will have underlying anger and bitterness.
The larger question, where is society headed? Well, there is reasons to be optimistic, and reasons to be pessimistic- the health of the planet is in decline, and a large part of the world feels isolated- they ignore their personal destiny.
However, there are great signs of hope in the world- younger generations feel an obligation to take care of the world and each other that didn’t exist 70 years ago- the world is becoming a global community, and its citizens are realizing that people on the other side of the world should be treated like members of the community.
You can either be part of the solution, apathetic, or part of the problem. There are a lot of people who are apathetic, but they are beginning to become part of the solution, they are beginning to realize that we all are responsible for our actions- they are recycling, using clean transportation, helping the poor, helping those who need help. The universal spiritual concept that we are all one is realized by more people than ever before- muslims, jews, and christians are one- and some actually realize this. Different races, religions, economic classes, sexes, sexual preferences, etc. are all becoming aware of their own connection to the world and its people. People are realizing their similarities to each other instead of their differences, and instead of tearing others down while clawing their way up, people are working together to try and realize the personal legend of all peoples. Perhaps this is the personal legend of the world- I believe it will be heroic, and not tragic.

Namaste.
Fulfilling one’s personal legend is a terribly frightening prospect. It’s scary because we have no limits, and we are all so accustomed to following pre-described traditions and staying within societal bounds. Suddenly, no one is telling us what to do anymore, we only have ourself to turn to. I personally have lived many years suppressing parts of my legend while fostering others, believing the fragments to be the whole. I picked up “The Valkyries” yesterday and it changed the way I view the world. Now I have to find the courage to see what it is that I was created to do. Paulo, I am very grateful to you for having the courage to follow your legend. Sharing your story inspires many to wake up and live the life they have been passing through by rote.
Namaste and much love, Emily

I love the idea that we are God’s dream. I wonder though, after reading the responses tonight…many of you thought that God just needed to be loved. I wonder if, in addition to that thought I might add: Is it possible that s/he dreamed us in order to share her/his love with us? I find it hard to believe that love between God and us would be anything other than a love that is reciprocated.

I saw on a show a day or so ago, Dr. Phil, I think it was, that our average lifespan is 78 years which equates to 28,470 days in those years. I will take it even farther by saying that it equates to 683,280 hours which then equates to 40,996,800 minutes. My little calculator couldn’t do the seconds…I guess my point is this: Why waste one second of one minute of one hour of one day of one year in your life criticizing ourselves because we have to put food on the table and a roof over our heads. I don’t believe that God would ever criticize us.

I try to remember that my life is a gift and to spend a little time in gratitude and thankfulness. Today I am thankful for this body that I inhabit and for being able to place my feet on my path the best way that I know how to do at this moment. And, I am thankful for all of you, your thoughts and this thread that connects us here.

Have a great evening!

Believing in God makes us feel comfort. I understand what you mean by God having a good dream or a nightmare. What makes us act the way we do is our own segregation from each other mostly because of different religious beliefs. All the fears that society infuses in us comes from that, specially politics, but who in the world can judge and say they are the ones who are right……….nobody. We all fight against each other because for some reason we find it better than reasoning with love and peace. We rather argue, fight and blame others because that is easier than taking the time to resolve an issue. It is better to put excuses in this world, it is all lazy but nobody wants to work hard anymore. We all attack each other, race is a big one?……….why???, because society taught us to do that since we were little, specially in history class. Instead school should teach us how to survive in this century rather than teach us to feel guilty with religions or feel sad for other negative things that happened to certain races in history. God will always have a nightmare. I personally don’t believe in one, I’d rather think of God as the energy of all living things. We all have a light, but it is hard to make it shine bright.

I really like all of these replies as they seem to all point towards the same things about. I also like that alot of people are pointing out about the Ego and the part of us that tries to claim our attention as that being who we are. It is only what we perceive as being ourselves because that is the safest way to associate ourselves in this world.

I also love the fact that alot of people talk about God and about him telling us to shed ourselves, and thats so true because what we are in appearance isn’t who we really are and how simply true this tends to be. Shedding ourselves to realizing What we came from, of God the I Am. We are Life and Love, as God dwells in all of us. I don’t think its really a question of obstacles or whats right and wrong because those are only material things, it doesn’t affect who we actually are. The being that resides inside through awareness and consciousness.

I had just recently read about Buddha and his story by Deepak Chopra and it talks about shedding that outter self to realize the divine being within. I think that God is alot bigger than trying to explain whether He is dreaming or not, i don’t think He can even be restricted by such a concept. Our physical bodies can be restricted but whats the difference between this reality on earth and the one we live when we sleep. The only thing that dictates that, that world is a “dream” is that we agree that, that is what it is.

I also tend to agree with the toltec wisdoms (in which I’ve read many of don miguel ruiz’s books on this) when he says that each person makes his own personal hell or heaven through his perception. We are the one who dictates whether bad is bad and whether good is good and just because you hear information from a source doesn’t necessarily make it true. What is true for one person is not necessarily true for another. Its also interesting because in the toltec wisdoms i read about it talks about our inner voice, the voice that we sometimes like to think of as the voice of reason but if it was so reasonable, why would it victimize and judge us so often. So even then, we don’t need to trust our inner voice, just because it tells you that you can’t do something or tells you, that you’re worthless doesn’t make it so. Use knowledge as a tool but not as a structure to live your life. We are suppose to be life and to live through the beauty of everything in life as we are all the same presence or essence rather than be run by a structure that society deams what life is.

No one said the path would be easy, but just like we learn how to be masters of anger or jealous, we can always practice to become masters of what we truly are, which is Life and Love and to dive back into the divine of I Am :) This is entering into the harmonious vibration of the world that is God.

You said something similar on another blog the other day. That god is a singer and that we are the song and that god is only happy when he is singing. Well, i have been thinking about that for some time now.. You, there are so many kinds of music. Heavy metal, soul, country, blues, and so on.. So, is it really possible to finish with all the nightmares? Is it possible to eliminate all the fear? Wouldnt be fear a kind of music that together with all the others makes the whole universe? Would the universe be complete without the one who is causing fear? Or am i totally wrong? Shouldn’t we learn to accept all the vibrations and qualitys of the music? If i would guess whats wrong, i would say that maybe, almost for sure, we are paying too much attention to fear, lets just change the station, im sure god is singing the good old The Beatles or maybe even Raul Seixas… what u guys think about it? =)

Somewhere on the net, (sorry don’t remember the person or the site), I heard a speech saying that we are experiencing a spiritual crisis during this recent consumerist period of our human existence. That satisfied me to the extent that we are conditioned to what is “pleasing” via products or set experiences due to media and peer/society affect. This to me happens for reasons which I cannot directly blame anyone & should do so anyway. Nevertheless, due there is now an overload of this condition, and, as we are here, many others are also gradually trying to find actual values and reasons for satisfying their spirit as well, which in the least, offers me a reason to hope for my personal improvement.

Many people are fulfilling their personal legend without being conscious that this brings them closer to the good dream of God. Is that bad for them? Well for they who want to be closer to God yes, but others only want to achieve their own benefits.
Sadly some people who are blaming all but themselves for not being able to fulfill their personal legend and who want to be close to the good dream of God don’t see that they have the power to change their life and through that god’s nightmare into a dream.

Greetings.

Dear Paulo

Firstly I’d like to say Thank you for your work. im new to all of this online. To answer your question I think each & everyone of us is fulfilling our Personal Legend. As i believe we all decide before we are born the journey our soul will take while it is here on earth in a physical body. so it may seem to some people that allot of people are not following there personal Legend or allowing people to take there power from them. which can seem negative but has anyone stopped to consider if the road that person is on & what is happening or not as the case may be is still nevertheless exactly what is meant to be happening?! We are are all at different levels spiritually so we cannot judge someone with our own perception of how things/people should be. We should remember we are all one & all on the journey to fulfil our soul however many experiences/lifetimes that may take. Love Kelly

Paulo,

Thank you for talking with us on BlogTalkRadio!!!

I believe that more and more people are waking up and finding they are dissatisfied with their lives, and are beginning to find the courage to go in search of their dreams. Why else are we here on this earth at this time?

It is not easy to live your dream. There are many factors–such as society and family obligations–that make you believe you are stupid for wanting to live a better, more truthful life. But the struggle to achieve your dreams can be beautiful, and it is all part of the path. If it were easy, it wouldn’t be as much fun.

It is important to surround yourself with inspiring and uplifting people, music, books and films. That is why Paulo Coelho’s books are so important.

I belive that there are many people in the world who are follwing there Personal Legend, but I also think there countrys unfortunatly who stop people folling there legend i.e. Communist countries, where I’m sure there would be people who would love to take a different path. Sometimes lifes conditioning stops people from following there dreams but I feel the next generation of children will change the way the world is like my own as I belive they are far more likely to go there own way and follow there hearts. love sandra x

Dear friends,
We are the dream of God. Other words, he is our father, we are his children. He put a part of Him into us. As each dad he wants to make us happy, He supports us on our way to ourselves.
The essential difference between God and the biological father is the matter of expectations. God lusts for our own
self-realization, not him, like for more of our dads.
The significant proof of God’s bias is the free will we possess.
God manifested himself creating us, then he encourages his children to the same as the only way of revitalization the LOVE which we are.
Wherever we are, whatever we do, God constantly whispers:
express yourself, be a river, lean on me, let me be your friend, leave your life.
During our busy style life it’s not so difficult to forget about the core of our existence, but God do not give up so easily being the guard of our happiness. We are in the centre of his attention all the time, regardless of what we do, cause He loves us, cause we are His children, and everything is going to the beginning. It’s like a circle of love.
LET’S HELP THE GOD TO MOVE THE CIRCLE OF LOVE AROUND.

Love
Anna

We are the dream because most people are sleep walking their way through life, going with the flow and occasionally responding to omens and blaming it on luck or coincidence. Only as we grow and tap into our souls do we wake up. We become enlightened. We realize that we are God. We are soul. We are life.

I can undrestand what is mente are by saying we are the dream of God. each of us is a small, yet very big part of the whole dream, which is going on to be fullfilled. Yet we have our own dreams and our responsibility is to fulfill it, so our dream is a part of the whole dream or Dream of God. Our dreames are born with us, grow with us, and give birth with us. When we die, or better say, when we are born on the other world, our dreams are with us again. As the whole universe expands, the big dreame expands and so do individual dreams.
The story of our lives are the story of how our dreams are being fullfield and expand or grow at the same time, and on we go…

Hello, Paulo! In the pursuit of sounding intellectual, I think that we go through stages wherein we act “nightmarishly” (when we resist the present moment, and let the Ego [as Dr. Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle define the word] run our lives. But God, in His Infinite Wisdom, orchestrates our individual lives in that we are brought to our knees to be faced with the fact that we are not our Ego (Identifying with reputation, family history, job, relationships, what is missing in our lives, possessions) – but that we are pieces of Him. And in my experience, only after having been brought to my knees many times over, have I realized from my very being, that yes, I must follow my Personal Legend. This is the only way I must live.

As many as there are human beings on this planet, is the same number of different forms of Personal Legends. But the essence of the Personal Legend is the cleansing of the atmosphere through our little acts of Kindness, Faith, Hope, Charity and Love.

The quicker we are to recognize the Ego for what it is, the clearer the path to our Personal Legend. The closer we are to “our treasure”.

Your service has been an inspiration to me and the people around me. God bless you always, Uncle Paulo.

You are a godsend.

The greatest challenge of a man is to face the evil within. Most people run away from themselves all of their lives.

What is a society but a representation of values of the majority? Regardless of a society the man searches for integrity, love and respect in life.

There is a lot of good within everybody but the fear of oneself makes it difficult to manifest it.

I like the idea that we are a dream and nightmare of God/Goddess.

Dreams speak in a language that our waking self must interpret before it understands.

I do feel that we as a society are awakening within this dream and nightmare. Many are forced into awakening through some kind of personal crisis , pain or suffering.

As I look around at the lives of my friends and acquaintances I see them all filled with changes and challenges and each challenge is unique as each Dream is unique.

I also see that there are guides, physical and non physical beings with great generosity of spirit that are willing to share their wisdom , potential and resources for the Highest Good.

Among the well-known teachers present and past and sources of inspiration …. Paulo Coelho, Deepak Chopra, Exckhart Tolle, Oprah Winfry, Byron Katie , Dr Roberto Assagioli, Burt Harding, Dalai Lama , Sri Maharishi, Joe Vitale, Wayne Dyer…… and many many very wise lesser known and unknowns.

In a few days we will be celebrating the UN Global Day of Peace and hopefully this will involve BILLIONS !

Many good intentions about.
Many have CHOSEN peace and love instead of fear.
I am optimistic that our collective dream will have a happy ending which will also be the beginning of a new dream.

HAPPY 20th ANNIVERSARY of THE ALCHEMIST , Paulo !

Namasté …love and brightest blessings to you and what you do.
Thank you !

The Dream Of God is Simple……

HE wants US – the PLANET and It’s People to BE LOVE……
Not complicated at all……We make God Happy when we follow our dreams – Breathe and exhale compassion onto others-We are Truly all ONE…..If We live Life with Compassion, Empathy and a yearning To Be HELPFUL- as much as We can…..Then God’s Dream comes ALIVE……

He breathes a sigh of Relief in Knowing that Souls = Us are LEADING and Nurturing each other into the right direction- Towards the Light, ASCENDING is the Only way…….Keep Our EYES to the sky and SEE with Our hearts….This is God’s Dream….

Our longing for love and everything that derives from love is the natural inclination of all creation. That is why (or so I believe) that no man is 100% evil. I believe in re-incarnation, which teaches us that we are all in a different position on the ladder to perfection. This ladder stretches among many different lives and if you consider that the only movement is upward, it is clear that we will all reach perfection in good time, dream or no dream, right or wrong, good or bad.
These are undesirable mindsets, caused by unconsciousness and the disability to see the whole picture, like the ladybird travelling the Persian rug.
Of course all of us who react on Paulo’s blog are merely copying other people’s words, as neither of us really knows how things really stick together, and we will never know until it’s being revealed to us. But it is always nice to speculate. It is a pity that we are trying to convince people who do not need to be convinced, while people who could do with a little spirituality probably do not have the patience nor the interest to plough through all our texts…:-)

We are not the dream of God,God is our dream. If He is dreaming then, He must be a sleeping God.It is us dreaming about him cause we are sleeping deeply and caring our sweet Big dream.God does not have any expectation,no dreams.People with expectaion and desires do have.I think that is the only difference.People are following legend that is troubling the whole existence. We are not happy as what we are,I do not hold any legend cause by following a legend one would get decepted.Everybody is unique and must follow his own path which would be illumined by our Heart.Society is not infusing fear in us but we ourselves, society is the extensive form of one individual. Those who see this can defy society. We see society but not individuality.Inside our heart we are afraid of us and that is reflected in the mirror of society.

Toltec Wisdom was as far as I know a spiritual path and vision of life which was and is demanding on how we see ourselves. It asks f. ex. Who do we believe that we are? Do we know that the truth is we are spiritual beings whose core as a divine spark? Are we willing to take responsibility for that and wake up to the divinity in ourselves and to act daring and step into your share of co-creation of this life?
Are we willing to go after and experience that we are not a victim of anything or anyone because being a victim is being stuck in a role. Sometimes it indeed can be a very powerful role – but still it´s a role and not the truth of who we are. Rather than staying stuck we can heal by asking: What did I trully learn here? How am I growing – and step empowered and healed out of our victim role and into our own power of who we came to be.

It´s from this perspective that it can make a lot of sense to talk about this life being a dream of God. Meaning we are all also divine and whatever we believe and feel is true in our life is what we co-create our life with. Our focus and intentions co-create results. We have both low energy thoughts and emotions and high energy thoughts and emotions. And we co-create accordingly. The term dream here describes the awareness with which we are present here. We create hell here when we let fear govern our unconscious decisions and we create heaven here when our decisions are conscious and based on love. To be able to learn about this and learn to live it demands courage, fierceness and risking to be true to ourselves. It craves conscious awareness and a willingness to learn about being really present.
To challenge and transform our own personal share of fear opens up to a discovery that love is the very fabric of life. The process of realizing who we really are is in a way like waking up from dreaming t a dream at night and realize we are so much more than the dream we were living thru until we woke up.

I can´t answer to where society is heading to – we have many different societies on the globe. A lot of places are governed by a power abuse which generates a lot of fear. Also a lot of people are realizing that there must be another way of being in this life. And go about going thru the transformations in their lives that can allow them to be who they have the potential to be. I think we live in a polarized time where fear and darkness is growing – and so is love, awareness and light. Pressure is building because we are part of a birthing process of a new level of consciousness.
I think we are all asked from inside and have been it for years: What do you dare? What do you really want to be part of? Are you willing to live your life based on your hears callings? A lot of the old way of living is breaking down. Part of the challenge of being alive today I think is to become aware of why each and everyone of us is alive exactly now. What our own reason deep down is for that. And go about making peace in our selves so that peace can grow from inside out. Our world mirrors our own inner state of being. The change we want starts with ourselves, inside. When we wake up to who we really are and start healing, our worlds start mirroring healing and wholeness back to us.

hey,
i guess sometimes the pressure is from outside…from parents..more than the society…i mean people dream n walk the way to achieve their dreams but parents or even elders being the “more known n knowledgeble” persons stop u, obstruct you and push u to follow the traditional route on a known path or rather “a path known to them”. its like a potter teaching his son to learn the tricks of pottery n a weaver teaching his son the trades of weaving taught to them by their fathers and ancestors…teachings of being and continuing the tradition and staying maintaining an image among the society which is supposed to be more than being a “human”…teaching to be what others want u to be….teaching to be wat the society expects of u…so wat if that means u be a mere doll just for the sake of being and having a “image” in the society. sometimes that leads many children to forcibly take the traditional route rather than following their dream…of course that can be said as being influenced by the environment and the society but at a tender age u dont hav a choice but to follow their “orders” as they are “the knowledgeable beings”.
And one tries to make them understand wat one wants…that i dont want to be a potter or a weaver rather i want to be writer or a journalist or just a happy human being..but happy in my own way, but they raise their eyebrows, enlarge their eyeballs, shout and shout and shout…..and the day ends….
But as they say “NEW DAY, NEW MORNING AND A NEW BEGINNING”…new wars to win,new things to learn n ofcourse new dreams to achieve to fullfil “YOUR” life. that’s the way it issss……. :-)

I have already written my opinion above, but I wish to add that me, although I thought myself at the age of 16[many years ago] a pioneer, a strong and determined person, I was not able to follow and fulfill my dream and try my possibilities.
In order to be able to follow your dream, one must be taught also, that ecxept from our Soul and Sword we need also a SHIELD, in order to protect our HEART from the wounds of ..society. The love and protection we carry from our parents and family, are not enough. It is not in the ‘battles’ of our Path that we lose, but in our most vulnerable and sensitive part of ourselves, our sentiments, in our Heart. A lesson of life. Never to be afraid of what and why you feel it. Fear is an evil advisor and ‘they’ plant it in the souls in order to put us in our ‘golden prison’ so that we become …decent members of society.
My ‘wisdom’, that my age gives me the right to say!

I think that there is a movement going on in respect to spirituality, whether its on a conscious or sub-conscious level. I think societies tricks are slowly making people weary of what they are subjecting themselves to and as a result to that, are beginning to seek things that are actually more fulfilling. Who’s to know whether this is good or bad but rather just news.

At some point in our life, we all feel that natural tug into spirituality, that some ignore but most try and follow at some point. No one says this tug is an easy battle (or even a battle at all for that matter) but nonetheless we either follow or we don’t. The people that follow usually find that the path is a lot different than we expect (I know i certainly did) I found that Its not even God has pulled us to pursue him but that we are actually in pursuit of ourselves as God the I Am dwells in all of us and is Life in general. That’s what we are though, we ARE life. There are also a lot of information out there on perception and what is means to be life, and in my world it’s not the fact that we are in the world but the world is in us. Who we are is not determined by how we act externally because who is to say that what we see even really exists in the first place. WE are no one but everyone at the same time, one collective whole and this is not referring to just people but being in itself. Breaking bonds of outer structure can we realize the I Am. Hes been here all along, I can see it in every face i look in, every particle of life that exists, and I can’t help but Love because He is in me as well. So in respect to Dream of God? I say, Sure. Who am i to judge who is wrong or whether there is even a wrong to begin with. :)

I think that there are too many excuses under which people tend to live! Too many considerations, as they would say! Because you have to worry about other people feelings (even though there is no way of harming them when you are trying to live your Personal Legend, they can only have a lack of understanding for your dreams!)
Is that the reason for us to give up on our dreams, just because our love ones can`t understand it?! I don`t think so! They should prove that love, by supporting us in that Good Fight, instead of constantly trying to tie us to the ground, leaving us miserable and frustrated!
The other thing that we tend to consider when we are deciding should we be what we trully are (like there is anything to decide!) is what society might think of that, threat of exclussion from society! We consider rules generated only to make us obey, so that some powerfull people could achieve their goals! They present us what is normal and what`s not, what are the principles the community is trying to achieve, to live upon! But when their interests are in danger, all these principles are forgotten, general amnesia?!!
So, it`s clear that we consider these and many other reasons, just because we are afraid to stand up for ourselves, to start living our dreams! Fear! Fear! Fear is the one that makes us stand still, not moving, paralized! And life is movement, Life is constantly challenges us to move, to do what we always wanted to do, Life is trying to convince us that we can live our dreams! Just move, believe, whole Universe will be on our side, do we not know that?
By chosing to LIVE our Personal Legend, we are a good dream of God, our life is a dream!
By rejecting to take the challenge, the risk, we are closing ourselves in self/created shell, living an illusion of safe living, to avoid wounds and scars, to feel nothing… What we are not aware of in this state is that we are living in less sharp, but everlasting pain called bitterness! We often say God is not just with us, when we come through difficult times, when He challenges us on the more cruel way, because we haven`t done anything! That`s when our life is a nightmare, that`s when we become a nightmare for God!
For the end, as you, dear Paulo have wrote in “The Pilgrimage”:
RARE ARE TOSE THAT KNEW HOW TO CARRY A BURDAIN OF THEIR VICTORY:
THE MAJORITY HAS GIVEN UP ON THEIR DREAMS AS SOON AS THEY APPEARED IMPOSSIBLE!

Ahh…Magdi. Such a lovely reply to this question.
“How lovely. Man is the dream of God. Yes if God created us, there must have been a need for that. So God needed us. How presumptious but nevetheless true. I think he needed us because being “Love” he needed to be loved. The rest of the creation could only adore Him. Man with his “free will” was the only possible source of reciprocal love. As in human love, sometimes it is heaven, sometimes it is a nightmare. He knew it. He knew also it was woth it.”

So why is it that we fail to live up the beauty that we are created for? As many have noted, society tends to encourage us to blend in, to do as others do and not to question. People seem to fear those who are different. It’s as if our difference makes them feel judged. They feel that because our path is not their path, perhaps we are indicating their path is “wrong.”

Nothing could be further from the truth and yet we are constantly encouraged to do things the normal way. Following our hearts can be difficult because as Paulo so eloquently stated in The Alchemist, the heart does not like to suffer and following your Personal Legend will almost certainly lead to suffering at some point. But nothing worth having in life is easy. We must be challenged. We must show that we are dedicated to the path we have chosen. Again, as many have stated, our life is our choice. Any responsibility for why we do not become who we are meant to be falls squarely on our shoulders. Fear, seeking approval from others, self doubt…all these keep us from finding our true self. We must overcome these obstacles and allow the love of God that exists within us to shine through as we become the person we are capable of being. As a society though, I find that people have forgotten that when challenged you should adapt, not give up. People seem to want things easy, no effort.

There is hope, there is always hope. We can be the examples for each other. We can give others the courage to follow their hearts. It’s through our actions that people learn the most from us. So teach those around you about true happiness by living your life to find your true place in the world. Encourage those around you (children, friends, coworkers, etc) to aspire to follow their dreams. Actions are contagious…so let love pour out from you in all you do.

We are on the road of fulfilling our personal legend. Societies are made from us and although the choices that we make from (the delusion of the truth) ego can keep us in the same place or even back us some steps. We are still in the same road. All are part of it.
Love you and thank you from my heart.
I’m looking forward to meet you (I have a feeling that I’ll meet you soon.)

hola , paulo……….

Dear Paulo,
i suppose your question brings to the mind of people what has been known in the past as being supersticious or what i am used to say as discussions of military bias. People have found ways to judge based on all the rest, everything else, apart from practical rules. This is a phenomenon that have tortured the minds and the behaviors of the people. To overcome difficulties we have to overcome impressions that may prove to be more powerful than rules. Unfortunately our society and the era of globalization have left no space to humans when it comes to rational thinking. Rational thinking could teach you a lot, but of course we belong in the 21st century. Hopefully what i assume for our society is that we head directly towards advanced forms of capital, something like lets say bioengineering and the eye! We always wanted a world of science, technology and complexity. Well this is it, our chance to work effectively on the new denominators. Is this going to bring our closer to our personal legend or disrupt our thinking from the good dream of God and the good battles? As soon as we realize that saving the world may not be our own priviledge, but a priviledge of the community, then we can definitely move towards advanced levels of effectiveness in the world where we live. Our language, our thoughts, our creative thinking practices, our meanings and our methods of expressing ourselves will again have a place of honor in what we will choose to be the framework!

people are paralyzed by fear, fear to figth for what they want. nowadays people follow the easy path, they look for a false happiness, they invest their efforts in getting pleasure, but not the pleasure that feeds their soul but the pleasure that feeds their egos.for people It is easy to stay in the surface, their not interested in looking for the essence of the things.
It is so sad when i hear people using the word love so carelessly. they say they are in love just because they feel good with someone. people choose the person who is going to be by their side for the wrong reasons. love is in a second level of importance.
Now adays most of people don’t believe in soulmates or in love at first sigth.
who wants a personal legend, people look the others recognition, not their own. so people want to fill in the prototype that society sells of happines.
But you know,it is so difficult for me to live in this society, get in love of the person you think who is like you, a person who goes far, a person who can understand me, someone who take my hand and guide me in this journey.
but no , I got wrong, that is just my dream, i’m getting alone in this world. my sensibility becames a hindrance in the world that surround me.
and i ask ¿do i have to change in order to survive, to not suffer in the way i’m suffering rigth now?
¿do we have to accommodate our way of living to the request of the society?
hell no . this is who i’am , and i pay the cost. I shelter sadness and suffering if that is the price.
In that way i exist in my personal legend

Hola Paulo.

Dear Paulo,
Where the sense of existence, of life?
You are looking into our past, boundless space of nothingness. It is difficult to find the borders between quality and kitsch but our life makes us to choose by free will, to fulfill our self with respect as a gift for humanity.

Sometimes I think how difficult is to find a factor, multiplier or simple compromise of the cultures and religions. Sometimes I follow the thoughts of long leg, thoughtless iconic beauties size’0′ focused on their imagination of perfection. Somewhere in between there is lying in wait something called ‘normality’. Let’s sacrifice this space because there is nobody who knows what normality means.

I have never known how to start my story. Whispering crowd of thoughts is trying to go though the corridor to the strings of my fingers. I do not know the borders of infinity. The only hope and foundation of my existence is based on a few thoughts collected in my mind during the education process, combined with ordinary life experience eaten slowly on the plate of life.

I got lost some where. prefer the simplicity than the marathon of money and authority power, crazy race to collect, to fulfill the existence with Mallorcan residence and Porsche in front of my house. I lost the track, I lost the footprints. I do not know where are we going to.

I saw the soul queuing for life. I called her back, had blown her up, had beaten her to death to give her an opportunity to be born again. Since then simplicity took over my mind.

I wish I could say what the happiness is but I know I am not able to produce the pill to treat every patient. The clinic is opened. Find your way. Be happy by your way.
There is always the past sneaking around, the pain of memories, destructive power hanging around like grumpy old step mother. The physiognomy of human being quite simple, a few muscles, bones, under the duvet of protecting fat.
But the power of human being in not about that. How can we define the phenomenon of intelligence, logical thinking, ability to draw the conclusions? Is it an idea of God?

Following your path, fulfilling the dreams make us feel satisfied. Whatever is that, God or your destiny it defines you as a human being with your rights to follow the directions. My dream path is full of LOVE. Following perfectly by your mind’s thoughts I make my life simple, touching other souls.
I am trying to feel them around me, to share the power of love.
Do I exist in my personal legend?
I think we all do.
How to find the right one?
I am asking you today…..

It is easy to write of society as corrupt or evil or somehow inferior, but the truth of the matter is that society is simply made up of many individuals. Each and every individual is searching for happiness in their own way and I think it is worthwhile to honor that search. Many people may judge that journey as inferior to their own. That sentiment is only a way of making yourself feel superior to others. Some people will never reach their personal legend, that is ok, after all, the search is really all there is. It is a great fallacy of our society to think that there is an end point of happiness.

I think that if we go into the world and interact with others, we will clearly see that most people (including myself) feel that they are broken in some way and are searching to fill that gap. Seeking fulfillment is a noble goal. As I am sure many of you know, there are many false “gods” out there such as materialism or romantic relationships for people to seek their happiness through. All things false will eventually fall away as they do not lead to lasting happiness. Have faith in that and don’t worry about society. Focus on what you can do by seeking your personal legend, happiness, and love for others. In that way, more people will become self aware and society will benefit from that.

To answer the question, I do not know whether society is becoming more or less aware. I do think, however, that the more important question is “How do I interact with society?” I ask this question because there appears to be a lot of anger and frustration with society. Society just is as it is at this moment. If we accept the culture we have created as it is, that culture loses its power to influence us and we can act out of a place of peace and truly listen to our personal legend. If society is an enemy, we will trap ourselves in reaction to society and never be able to listen and hear God speak to us.

Best,

Evan

I have read through most of the posts and a lot of people have said a lot of things I agree with. I would like to add my interpretation of God. I like the concept that we are the dream of God. The question I would like to pose to all of you is Who? What? Where? is God?

God, to me, is the unification of all souls. God is the energy that binds all life. God is what motivates us to fulfill our personal legends. Each individual life can choose to be in tune with God or clash with God. God is not a man, God is not a woman, God is not the air or the clouds. God is in every man, every woman, every part of life. God is the conductor of the great symphony of life, eager to teach us and guide us through our very own part. As we perfect our own part, we realize we are not alone, and no one else can contribute exactly what I can contribute. That without my personal legend realized the world will be without that beauty. So I owe it not only to myself to realize my personal legend and live it, I owe it to all life! Bless you all and stay strong on your journey to your personal legends!

It is not easy to give opinion regarding this issue. Even I myself is also lost. The last question hit me. Yes I think I am paralayzed with fear that’s why I still didn’t know or I still cannot follow my personal legend. But I believe that I am on my way of fulfilling it. Sometimes its just a matter of patience and will power to fulfill such.
As for the society’s shoes especially the youth of today. In my opinion…Most of them are drowning and are all struggling to fit…to belong…For example here in our country, CONFORMITY is the big issue. Most of our youths here have been thought of good values in home and school but environment is a big factor. Even if the things they’re doing are against morality, they will still do it because they wanted to be “in” the group and so as doing this they are being dragged away from their dreams..their personal legends and eventually they will become someone else which they really are not. MOst people are being drowned by fear. Too afraid to fight. To move forward. To trust. And so the things that we dreamt of just remained as dreams and we end up doing bad things and we see ourselves as craps and losers.

But not all of us are like this..Some are able to fulfill their dreams and be whatever they want to be.

We are the product of our own choices. So in the end..No matter what happens, there’s no one to blame. But there’s always another choice that will lead us to the right path again.

Our lives might be part of God’s dream. SOme are good and some are nightmare but God is a Good God and powerful God so in the end no matter how bad His dream about us can be in the end He can still change it into a wonderful pleasant dream if we will allow Him to :)

I think we just need to watch the world news to know the answer! The world is filled with paralyzed people!People distracted, people afraid, people not even realizing that they are God’s dream! Its very very hard to go against all these rules and expectations that you are born into…its a lonely road to travel and i just want to say, today off all days this post is so important to me cause today i feel the sadness and the wounded-ness of the world very strongly.Countries at war, countries economies crumbling, people starving, people murdering each other…the world is MAD! A world filled with HATE! A world manipulated and dominated by consumerism and separation, we are all part of this world. And if we happen to not be paralyzed by fear we have an even bigger obligation to fight to make this world better and to spread love and compassion wherever we go! TO BE GOD”S dream!

Thank you for this dream of God today…especially today!I have been looking for inspiration to really be part of making this world better and you have done this!Thank you!

I would say that the physical life is a “dream of God” and that what I AM is real or concrete – aware and conscious. Divine. So what I can do as a human being is to become more and more conscious to dream this life consciously and finally becoming my Self. Then I can decide in full awareness about my “dreams” or experiences.

Concerning society I think that still a lot of people – the majority – are heading into drama. But for my personal life it is not so important what other people are doing. I do not depend on other people. Nobody does, unless it is believed so. For me fulfillment ist KNOWING -knowing, who I AM. And this leads to
sovereignity which is complete freedom.

I believe that a phrase that characterizes our society is “go with the flow”. I don’t know if it’s the media or fashion but it’ s like they are trying to make us all the same. Well, it’s true that a mass is more easily controlled so a person that thinks in a different way is a problem. People want to be accepted by society so they follow the flow.I agree with Rika and Joseph, young people don’t dream their future life anymore. They just care about surviving..They choose a profession because their parents tell them to do it or because the specific job is respectable by society.I saw that happening with some of my friends. However, I believe in personal legends and I believe we must do what our heart tells and search what our heart wants and tells or else we won’t be happy nor successful.
Love,
Lia
