  • I heard this song today.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0K27TsN6pQ

It made me think of a person I always have felt love for.
He once saved my life with his love, and recently our ways crossed again, and I tried to help him with my love for him.
But sadly our destiny seems to be that we only cross each other roads temporarly.

And this song touch me and makes me cry
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK9nt1NF7Nw

    Love can be so complicated.
Can we love more then one person at a time?
    I think so.
We can love our parents, our children, our friends all in
    the same time.
But can we have more then one soulmate at the same time
    (or in a lifetime)?
And how will we know when we have found this soulmate?
Can we lie to our self because the circumstances is complicated?

And if you love a person and that person not love you back,
that´s when it hurt so bad.
But it´s better to love and suffer, then not to have loved at all!!!

Love is a mystery, many people are afraid of love.
I think it´s because they don´t want to be turned down,
    so they build fences.
I was before one of them, but never again !!!
I will do whatever it takes, so my heart remains open :-)
If someone wants to hurt my heart, it´s only because they are afraid to open their heart.
And with this knowledge I have nothing to be afraid of.
Because when you build fences nothing can come out and nothing can come in.

    Love Jessica

  • Alexandra…The love poems in Song of Songs/The Song of Solomon is beautiful too. The archaic language is kind of intense and makes me smile…

Arise, my love, my fair one,
    and come away;
for lo, the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone.

    Your eyes are doves
    behind your veil.
Your hair is like a flock of goats,
moving down the slopes of Gilead.

Your cheeks are like halves of a
    pomegranate
    behind your veil.
Your two breasts are like two
    fawns,
    twins of a gazelle
    that feed among the lilies.

….each verse..and so many more verses. You will have to read them yourself. Imagine having a man siting lines like that to us *laughing*.

  • love is poison, love is honey… too much honey is poison, sometimes poison turns to honey. faith, hope & love mirrored produces agape love, so beautiful, seldom lasting except in a religion…

to strong women, sensitive men, marriages & love.

  • Dear Thelma,
Thank you for the “mou”, because in French it has another explanation. To give “mou” is to release a rope a bit . Not the same thing indeed. It is also offals you could give to a cat for lunch. I like to discover the different meanings of the words through all languages. :)

Phaedra is a piece I studied in college. I really liked it, and many other writings from Racine (Root in french). Though sometimes she annoyed me complaining. :) I really understood her later…
What we could say, the art of Racine is a genious one. Sometimes I’m admiring to the way that kind of authors had to write in verses. What a work!

Good night to all of you.
    With gratitude.

Thank you all for appreciating the music of Mikis Theodorakis. The film was ‘Phaedra’ based on the ancient myth. Of course, my Wanbliska it was Eros, a big ‘forbidden’ passion ended in tragedy. There is the whole story and everything about the film in the Google, I have just checked for you. [It is quicker, instead of me ..trying to explain].
MOU means mine, agape mou = my love
The words of the songs are really very beautiful. I remember I had seen the film when I was still at school and I was overwhelmed.
My dearest Paul from Austria, I think that Agape is also the LAST SUPPER and in the Orthodox church we name also the Holy Communion.

  • Thank you Thelma! I love that woman, and never heard that song. Phaedra, lol. Mystery’s making circles.
    What does mean “mou” ?
And Phaedra loves Hypolit. Was it an “agape” love? More an “Eros” one…

    Nice day to you Darling.

  • I had just re-read the email of this and thought about a few things on the various types of love ..
I think the poets do say it best -
Just like the sun and the stars and the sea ,True love will go on through eternity . Helen Steiner Rice
” Love possesses nothing and does not want to be possessed, because it is enough in itself. It will make you grow, and then throw you on the ground. It will whip you so that you feel your impotence, it will shake you to rid you of all your impurities. ”
Yes love does all these things and more ,it can cause heartache ,grief ,despair and tragedy ..but Love is also
    Understanding -compassionate -
    unfailing ,humble ..enduring ..

    It is sharing and caring
    Giving and forgiving,
Loving and being loved, walking hand in hand,
    talking heart to heart ,
seeing through each others eyes, laughing together, weeping together, praying together,
    and always trusting and believing’
and thanking God for each other ..
For love that is shared is a beautiful thing -
It enriches the soul and makes the heart sing ..
another Helen Rice ..I love her books ..
Have a wonderful weekend - everyone Love Tania

  • Here in Austria the word Agape is still used for the celebration feast following a ceremony (usually religious), like a wedding, christening, harvest home etc… I find the word just as beautiful as love itself…

  • Dear Joël,
Agapē is a greek word for divine or unconditional love. Spiritual love. Love for humanity and truth. This is also the name the first Christians gave to their lunches, in remembrance of the Last supper.

  • I believe that children are our future
teach them well and let them lead the way
show them all the beauty they possess inside
give them a sense of pride to make it easier
let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be

    Everybody’s searching for a hero
people need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
a lonely place to be and so I learned to depend on me

I decided long ago never to walk in anyone’s shadows
if I’d fail if I’d succeed at least I’ll live as I believe
no matter what they take from me
they can’t take away my dignity

Because the greatest love of all is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all inside of me
the greatest love of all is easy to achieve
learning to love yourself it is the greatest love of all

I believe that children are our future
teach them well and let them lead the way
show them all the beauty they possess inside
give them a sense of pride to make it easier
let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be

I decided long ago never to walk in anyone’s shadows
if I’d fail if I’d succeed at least I live as I believe
no matter what they take from me
they can’t take away my dignity

Because the greatest love of all is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all inside of me
the greastest love of all is easy to achieve
learning to love yourself it is the greatest love of all

And if by chance that special place
    that you’ve been dreaming of
leads you to a lonely place
    find your strength in love

A great great song from Whitney Houston…

Love to Love, & all God’s children, Paul

  • LOVE my fovourite subject. I think that it is the only thing that matters for me!
I am Greek so I understand with my whole being the three words: ΑΓΑΠΗ, ΦΙΛΙΑ & ΕΡΩΣ [LOVE, FRIENDSHIP and EROTIC LOVE].
I have read that chocolate brings the same feelings as when we are in love… So I like eating chocolates. It is …very safe and we can ..afford it.[No complications]
AGAPE, it is the lesson to love our enemy. In the books and in metaphysics it is the ideal, but in real life and when money or interests are involved, then we tend to forget our PATH, until… later. We know the story of Abel and Kain. But there is HOPE, finding LOVE and Harmony for ourselves first.
The EROS, the love of the poet, is every man’s, woman’s dream. The finding of the Soul Mate. The other, missing half. The person that will make you forget yourself. The one who will look into your eyes and soul and be able to surpass our egos, personas and personalities and be ONE and Abyss will be filled of GOD’S WILL and LIGHT. THE end of the Path.
    LOVE,
    THELMA

  • I don’t really agree with all of this, except with the Khalil Gibran quote. And I think I’m fed up with Oscar Wilde.
I never considered Love as something that makes fall. And to that point, I never understood why we say “falling in love” (the same in french). Maybe if we could change “fall” by “fly”, life would be better. I fly in love. So well…

I agree we could encounter defeat and sadness when loving, but as with our family and friends…By the time we have to deal with the other, it happens difficult time, as we have to look at ourselves, by the simple way of the relation is living. Though love is a feeling that grows and grows when it is true.

If love brings the same effect as cocaïne. I couldn’t tell. But that’s a great thing. I guess I’ll have a line each breakfast of my life.

    Thank you Paulo.
    :)

  • This morning I felt a beautiful sunny love within me, this reminded me to a song “I want to be loved by you” and related you to myself…not ego-minded just when you love yourself you love the world and that’s agape for me…being love everywhere.
