In one year from now…

So how do you see the world one year from now? Meaning the world in November 2009? Let’s do a type of exercise, not a prophecy, about the state of the world in the future. As you know we are at the brink of the US elections;  the stock is crashing; wars are ravaging, etc… So I turn to you : in one year from now, where will we be?

So speculate about this and – God willing – I will repost here your answers in November 2009 and see who came closer to reality.

I do not think I am able to speculate how the world will be in a year from now. But the fact is that after all we are humans and we like to know what is going to happen in the future so we try our best to exhaust our mental abilities in order to GUESS what is going to happen in the near future.

I believe that since the American Elections are over, and we have seen how have won. This will not affect the Middle East, because if it was either of them both would have the same policies against the Middle East but one is more diplomatic than the other, but the results are the same. But there is a possibility that US would go back to US and stay in US and mind their internal business.
If this happens in one year from now, China is the rising power now, and unfortunately Iran is the one controlling the Middle East.
And if the US (also one year from now) mind their business and take the cover off Israel, then we are looking at a new middle east.

Where as in Lebanon, (my home country) nothing has changed since 1984. Lebanese actually think that the world revolts around them, The Lebanese lands is being sold by bits and pieces to Syria and Israel, step by step. Syria negotiating with US means one thing it is not being funded by Iran anymore and this also means one thing, the link between Iran and Hezbollah has been broken.
So there will be a clash in Lebanon, and again Syria will interfere to solve the clash (as it did back then for 30 years)

Israel won’t accept a Muslim country with Nuclear that made clear that as soon as the nuclear is finished they will drop it on Israel. So there will be something concerning Iran from Israel covered by the Americans but with no American troops.

And Afghanistan will stay as it is right now. Iraq.
Iraq…Iraq…Iraq is something. In Iraq I think the American & co. troops will start withdrawing in slow manner.

Economy. If Iran was hit, the economy will rise again and become as stable as it was before. There will be fixation for the economical problems in US since the new president’s main concern is economy (which I don’t totally agree, what does it matter if the economy is good and a nuke has been created to be dropped over them?).

And I will gain bits and pieces of experience in one year :)!

QUESTION FOR YOU PAULO COEHLO?
Where are you going to be in a year since you ask everybody this question,what about you?

Oops! Forgot – one more card:

HEALTH/ECOLOGY:
There is an argument over some sort of official document or global decree pertaining to public health or the environment. A piece of extreme legislation reflecting the struggle between the masculine and feminine energies at play here. Essentially, the masculine is enraged by and attempting to subdue and dominate the feminine. There is death in the air (famine? pestilence?) meaning that many lives hang in the balance, and will be effected by the outcome of this decree or anouncement.

So there you have it – November 2009, in a nut shell!

Okay, let me begin with a little disclaimer: As for myself, I would never spend a moment of the present speculating on the future. (This is probably why I don’t play the stock market and don’t gamble.) I try to take events and circumstances as they come to me. First, I can’t do anything with something that hasn’t happened yet – I cannot take action “in the future.” I can only act in the here and now, based on the events and circumstances manifest in this moment in time. Secondly, whatever the future holds, I am 100% certain of this – the circumstances that arise in my life, whether seemingly “good” or “bad,” will be precsely the circumstaces I need to experience in order to continue to grow spiritually. Thus, there is no need for fear, whatever the future may hold.

Furthermore, I think the world as an organism is no different from an individual. What will be is what should be – the environment necessary for the human species to continue to learn and evolve. Circumstances may not always seem pleasant or positive, but even the worst is divinely intended as a medium of growth and catalyst for change. Example: The phenomenally high gas prices in the U.S. over the past months. As much as they may pinch my pocketbook, I do not lament these high prices, because I see them as a necessary catalyst for a long needed change. Perhaps when all is said and done, Amrican’s will learn to live a bit more conservatively – drive smaller cars, live closer to work, use public transport, etc. So, even if one year ago I could have looked into the future and seen this event, I would not have panicked, declaring, “The sk is falling! The sky is falling! Oh, what will we do?” What we will do is adapt and adjust, and in the end, hopefully be all the better for having gone through such a crisis.

Lastly, I believe that fear breeds fear and negativity, negativity. In essence, we create today, by our imaginings, the world we shall dwell in tomorrow, both on a personal basis as well as on a global level. Thus, we should be careful what monsters we imagine, for we may just wake up tomorrow and find the beasts of our dreams knocking at our door. In a sense, we give energy to the negative when we allow ourselves to imagine it. Thereby, we create the very type of environment ripe for evil to manifest. Last night, for example, I was watching a talk show in which one man from the audience brought up the subject of a possible U.S. presidetial assination in the near future. His idea was basically, “What ever are we going to do if Obama is assassinated?” I personally feel that we should avoid all such speculation, as to speculate along these lines creeates the very sort of environment where such an event is not only plausible but actually highly likely. Instead, we should celebrate this victory with an enthusiasm and positive outlook capable of sustaining a similar future.

Now, having said all of that, I do read Tarot cards. So, I look at this just as I look at a client asking for a reading. I might advise the questioner that the question asked is somewhat futile and that it would be more useful to focus on the present circumstances and what can be affected in the here and now. But, in the end, I shall offer my reading nonetheless:

NOVEMBER 2009:

POLITICS:
Many secrets, secret plots, talk of scandals flying about. Egypt is somehow a central figure in the world political picture at this time.

RELIGION:
A war is raging between a silver knight and a red dragon – a religious war in which two opposing forces are attempting to establish dominance over a certain region. It is hard to tell which is the “good” side and which is the “bad.” If you are European, you will think the dragon is evil. If from the East, you will think the knight brutal and merciless. This assertion of power, this show of force is a fight to the death, as neither side will surrender until the one or the other is wholly destroyed.

FINANCE:
Much weeping. It is a time for consolation. Many bittere tears are shed. I see many empty vaults – much loss, unconsolable despair. It is a bleak scene, a scene of mourning, a time for wearing black if you are of the older generation (i.e. “old money”). Somehow there is a lighter side to this however, as it is also a time of learning what is of true value in this world, a time where the value of true friendships supercede financial greed and gain.

CULTURE:
It is a time of lighthearted flirtation and flowers – a sort of cultural “flowering” or rebirth. Renaissance. (For some reason, this card is not coming through veryclearly for me. It seems somehow more individual than global in focus.) A time of music for young maidens, as in a serenade of sorts, much courtship and “stepping out.” Archery for sport. (And the only reason I can imagine that archery popped up is because the questioner is paulo Coelho, and somehow this relates to his personal “culture” or private life. Sorry about that. Not intentional, I assure you. Perhaps you’ll find yourself involed in a sort of archery competition next November. The thing is that the figure holding the bow is a woman, a sort of Venus. I suppose, as his mother, also the teacher of Cupid? Whatever that means.)

All in all, I would say that this last card is a draw, as it makes no sense at all in a global context, at least not as I am reading it. Something is interfering with the message here and I am getting more of a personal angle on it. Ah well! The other cards at least came though quite clearly

Best of the next twelve months to you all! But especially – don’t forget: YOU ARE THE ARCHITECT OF YOUR DESTINY. Tomorrow is rooted in the HERE and NOW.

Love,
Savita

Walaa Hamdan, Insaallah means god willing, maybe that has same menaing as hopefully.

THERE IS A LOT OF EXITEMENT THE WORLD OVER, SPECIALLY AMERICA, AS OBAMA WINS THE PRESEDNETIAL ELECTIONS. The chap certainly deserved to win, he has what it takes. the timing of the economic crisis could have also helped ( divine intervention ) change the mnd of some of the fence sitters.

I READ HIS SPEECH AND HERAD IT TOO, I LIKED IT. ONLY ONE WORD OF ADVISE TO HIM AND REST OF THE WORLD : the economic crisis was brought about by superachivers who were working very very hard, even Obama mentiond hard work in his speech. Thnaks to the toils of our forefathers ( and mothers ) humanity today has enough for everyone ( and some to spare ) if the greed, obscene wealth accumulation, could be addressed. IT’S TIME NOW FOR SMART WORK AND NOT MORE OF THE SAME IDIOTIC HARD WORK. and smart work begins with leisure. let’s call upon all the presidents, the powers to let humanity have respite, let it have some idle time so that it can develop a consciosuness, then all action will be good.

Hope Obama sees the diffrence between hard work ( which has resulted in this perilious world ) and smart work.

One year from now we will understand more about the intentions of other nations and peoples, especially where there are many terrorists. Barack Obama as president changes some of the stereotypes about the USA and indicates that here truly anything is possible. How will groups that seek to repress the freedoms of others, in the name of religion, respond to this challenge?
Are we really involved with a holy war based on some interpretations of the Koran?
Reading the posts above leads me to think that people are convinced the economy will remain troubled. If enough people think this way it will remain troubled for sure.
I think we are going to see a more classical look in fashion.
With less disposable income more people will stay home — and online, so social sites and Internet connectedness between people will continue to grow.
There will be changes in the art world. A new form of Post Conceptual Art will emerge.
New solar and wind power alternatives will develop to deal with our energy needs.
And a year from now, if we are blessed, we will be one year older.

Oi Paulo!

*eu vou ter mais coragem e vou ter enfrentado meus temores;
*eu vou ter recuperado a minha liberdade que durante algum tempo coloquei nas mãos de outras pessoas;
*eu serei menos dependente das aparências;
*eu não temerei a necessidade financeira, pois “os lírios não se preocupam em tecer nem fiar (…)e se Deus veste assim as ervas do campo, não fará Ele muito mais por vós”…
*eu estarei exercitando mais a minha Fé;
*eu serei eu-mesma, mesmo tão diferente – ou tão igual;
*eu terei conhecido Paulo Coelho pessoalmente!!!!

Em meu mundo:
*os diálogos entre nações terá um aumento significativo;
*os conflitos no Oriente Médio não terão cessado;
*as tendências da moda serão pelo natural, simples;
*as bolsas de valores terão se recuperado, mas outra forma de investimento será fortalecida – uma mais concreta;
*a humanidade estará lendo mais;
*será inventado o teletransporte e não precisaremos mais perder tanto tempo em aviões, ônibus, trens…

Beijomeliga

Hi Paulo and Everyone,

Hope is the seed which leads to belief, out of belief comes will to action, after that comes intent to action and then there is true action itself. Intent leads into action and becomes it. When our words and our deeds match then we are in tune with life.

Hope belongs to the feeling side of life. When situations seem impossible it is often all there is left. It is an intangible and not of the realm of reason.

Hope needs germination in the absence of desire for guarantees and where there is that still small flame in the darkness some light can always be found. Often enough it is all that is needed.

We are in a sense talking about group consciousness here, if the world has hope then it can lead to will-to-good and with this, whole countries can be motivated towards action.

Often it is a vision or a dream that inspires hope. It gives it the sustenance to move out of the ephemera and into physical plane actions and behaviours. Back to Martin Luther King – he had a dream.

We are the architects of our own future.

So I will hope for a better and new way of being. I will intend it and believe it possible. It is.

Best wishes,
Alan

I live in the most unpredictable coutry in the world. And it’s even impossible to guess what will be in the future. I hope nothing terrible. But “HOPE” is not good word. You can “believe”, “think” or “consider”. But don’t hope, ’cause the hope is the first step on the way of disappointment

Spirituality and humanity will be a mere discussion everyday, people will look after alternative medicine like herbs and therapy beside modern medicine. In the Football world. Dunga will keep his job as Brazilian coach but Maradona will step-down due to health problem.
Obama can settle the financial crisis. US will start drawing his troops from Iraq and Afghan and world will oriented to Europe and Asia

Dr. Michael Newton.

I think that Past-Present-Future is the concept-idea of Time on Earth. In the spiritual world it is One, the Eternal Now.
It is said that it is the Divine Mercy that has made us people being in ‘amnesia. If there is a good reason for our evolution’, then we are able to have a look into the future.
Now, we all know the new President of America, the first ‘black’ president in the White House!! Progress is coming, the knowledge that all people on Earth are equal will be spread. The elections, I read yesterday, were won by the Internet and .. Facebook! It is the techonoly in full glory! I wish that it will be used for the benefit of humanity, for feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, giving water to the thirsty and knowledge and love to all children of the world and to…. us the older ‘children’ with the … demanding HEARTS, SOULS and SPIRITS.
We are all ONE and ETERNALLY.

a better world,perhaps,with Obama in the white house. Less of Iraq, more of nations helping each oother in times of difficulties.I think, with the economic crash, the world has realized that its a small one, that everybody’s interconnected, that you can’t just let another nation fall without endangering your own..I think this will help nations in realizing that in helping one another, they’re actually helping themselves.

oh, i hope fore less corruption in my country..and much better and service oriented leaders (unlike the selfish and greedy ones we now have).

but then, nobody knows for sure…that’s why i like horizons…you’ll never know what’s beyond it…and that’s an adventure I can never resist…

I think he is an autentic person like Bill Clinton!
I belive that next year in november, he will show us and the whole world that fairness and to be corect to himself and to politic decisions,is an exempel that altough other importent political persons and presidents in Europe will move to develope and start to do the same!Because America is still a country that move the interesting of the whole world!!!Bad and good things.It is still capable of reflexion!
Sure,he can not change the economic stocking!But he will start a new direction witch will take time.
Ofcours, we all, will be pressed to find new solutions for to live (to be more economical with energy in our home ,to travel maybe with train, not with cars,to help together more in the small circle of family,and in the next social comunity at the worck, on the street,in our small blogcomunity!!??) .Sorry now , I have to Laugh!! Things will start to move for the better slowly but steady, people will start to open their eyes more and more as they have been closed for a very long time.

Serpent as symbol,itself is very complicated.It already has its association with many a things like religion,myth etc..

Roughly It can be associated with any darkness;be it revenge or any negative/evil stuff or something of that sort.But there are many good things about it, like providing medicine and even it symbolizes guardianship etc..Guardianship involves the idea care and responsibility.In ancient myths it can be seen that time and again many lords like Lord Krishna Lord Budhha etc. had been guarded by serpent. But at the same time it is merciless,rancorous!It is powerful as well, as sometimes it’s worshipped also.

So,I can associate it with some wild protector!

As from this time on, my hope is that we are turning a corner.
I hope that this year has made us aware of the greed, hate, dishonesty, aggression, prejudices and fear which man has created in the world. We have a new leader moving into place in an important part of the world, who has his a different vision which resonates with many all over the world. Look how Nelson Mandela made such an impact on the hearts of many everywhere. We can change our ways just by awareness. People are basically good. I am optimistic. But it will take some time. I would say that by the end of 2009 we will have become more and more aware, and more clear about what is in our hearts, and who we are, and that we are a part of a whole. Together we are so strong, but to be separate and divided we will live in fear and be forever weak. It is ultimately our choice. I feel we will move towards the right conclusion for the earth and its people.

In one year, November 2009. much will have changed and yet still stay the same. Poor countries will still remain poor and rich countries becoming richer. Yet in small steps, the world will slowly move on as the times reject atrocities and the youth gain one more year to amass experience and take on the mantle of responsibility.

It is highly likely that there shall be a greater thrust to become eco-friendly and technology will most likely try to link families together. New types of fuel will begin to slowly enter the field and greater social responsibility for all.

We will live on another way , if we learned something from the crisis.
I will enjoy live more then before.
The continent Africa will still suffer of starving.
There will be still war.
There will be still polution at sea and on shore.
The Amazone forest will be reduced.

I hope we keep doing the right choices, althoug I dont like the WORD right.
What I mean: I am happy about the choice of american people today. And I hope, in one year we keep thinking and saying yes we can!
I hope we can keep manage the CHANGES…
Thanks for your voice, Paulo!

Now, I can answer this question..
after Obama winning the US elections, I guess that in a year from now a few things would have changed..
the economy is starting to get better, finally..
the Iraq war won’t ber over yet, but it will be soon..
No other wars will be started by the US..
All will be changing for the best inshallah (Arabic for hopefully)

1 year hence !

obsession of the present ‘system’ with profits ( at all costs !) and vulgur display of wealth has taken its toll, economies are in doldrums, once again the world is at cross roads.

unless there is a concerntrated effort by the world to turn itself inwards, get into spirituality, meditation, silence !! human civilisation may be in for some very tough times. One year hence, the present feeling of uncertainity, unease will continue, but the general direction in which the world is headed will become clearer. the good old world of cold war days was gone with collapse of communism, the intoxicating days of rampant capitalism, and overachieveres is also slipping, now what, cross roads.

One year down, the looking for direction will continue, the turmoil in society will continue.

I am no ‘seer’ but i take solace in a quotation from osho, he has quoted somewhere that in some very ancient stone engarvings, teh same problems ” younsters don’t listen to elders, things are becomming constlier, times are becomming togher, etc e etc…”. so in a way nothing chnages, on the surface things may change, but the essential nature remains same. Individuals can make a consious choice to get above it. For the first time in the history of thsi planet, there are so mnay humans around. It is the responsibility of each of us, and more so the leaders to lead the people away from excessive greed to a balanced approach towards life ( carrier, family, society and individual growth ), if that happnes things will turn out well, but for that to happen, humanity would have to endure some more pains, it is so fast asleep ! by Nov next year the ‘pains’ will increase, in 3-4 years things may start chaging for better.

One year, such a long, and in the same time, such a short period of time………….
Some will be born, some will be dead, the earth will be following the way around the sun.
Day after day we will learn our lessons, we will do our mistakes, we will love and be loved, we will share our ideas and things and feelings with others, and , so, a day will come when we’ll say : another year it’s gone!When?
