I keep thanking God for being healthy, for giving me the possibility to see, to hear, to walk on my feet, to talk, to think.
For letting me know so much things, for helping me in each step I make.
For having the possibility to continue my studies and enjoying my time.
For having a place to call home, a family to love, for never suffering hunger or thirst.
I feel so lucky for having all that, but still I had no idea that the number of those who are not as lucky as me were so many.
I always used to feel lucky for having enough and for not having too much. It is really hard for me to imagine my life otherwise, even though I know I should sometimes, but still now that I am thinking about all those people... It is shocking ! A world without love and compassion in such circumstances, would be better to not exist, because it would worth nothing.

I received a e-mail from a friend which I want to share with you’ll –

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests tea, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of tea and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some
expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the tea.

When all the students had a cup of tea in hand, the professor said:

"If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the tea. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was tea, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups. And then you began eyeing each other's cups.

Now consider this: Life is the tea; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the tea God has provided us."

God brews the tea, not the cups. Enjoy your tea!

"The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything."

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Whenever we read statistics, our optimism makes us think that for us there will be an .. exception, or that we will be the 'lucky' of the catalog ot that they do not concern us. I think this attitude is a shield our mind uses in order to be able for us to continue 'fighting' and proceed in our Path. It is the same 'illusion' that we try to have by forgetting our mortality.

Sometimes I feel selfish and I like it. The good thing is that it is only sometimes. Sometimes I need it and they need me to be like that... sometimes.

We are blinded by what we can see. We don't realize what is going on over the hill, across the river, in the next barrio. We wonder what that guy is saying, that accent so thick we wish he knew how to speak out language better so he can make himself understood to us. We don't understand the cost it took for him to get to where he is today, we only think how ignorant and unfortunate he is. We don't see beyond the end of the noses on our faces, and those who would tell us different have deadlines to meet, budgets, profit margins, agendas. Were can we find the truth in walking in another man's shoes? The pastor only wants to save the man's soul and nothing more. But someone said that true religion is to do justice, love mercifully and walk humbly before God.

My people only want to know what you want to do about your problem and how we can help.

One of the Human Rights, (http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html)is having the right to work. At a meeting with Department of Economic Security on replacement of unemployed workers, they informed that the ratio on applications for a position in this area of the USA, has gone from 8 to 1, to 80 to 1, in just a few months. Unemployment rises fast, and with it serious problems. Everybody having a job should see themselves as very fortunate.
