Vision never manages to see everything, and unintended consequences crop up, don’t they? Progress is not perfection, and not necessarily a goal in and of itself… Some things are better left alone, like burning bushes, talking snakes, whatnot…

Yes, there are quite a few ingenious inventions that have been runaway wheels of destruction i.e. the atomic bomb

Often man is more interested in inventing and damn the consequences.
