Who dou you think are the richest people of the world?

  • The richest man/woman is one who can get a good nights sleep.

  • Dearest Thelma,
Quote “The Lord is my shepherd, that I may not want…” Doesn’t this mean that God watches over us, so that we do not go hungry…? As not to confuse you further… I meant that, with so much of God’s Love, I could not possibly want for more… ;)
    Love, Paul

  • Dear Paul from Austria, now you succeded in .. confusing me with your comments above!! What is that, you may not want???

  • “I” am the richest man in the world… because I have been blessed with a complete set of functioning senses… and a very large portion of God’s love… “that I may not want”…

    Love, and be grateful, Paul

  • “…For he is not poor who has little; only he that desires much … “

  • “Rich” and “Poor” are incredibly subiective titles. It seems that Mr. Coehla’s answer poetically magnifies the lesson that no one should fall into the “er” descripter of these words. You have to be continually courageous in order to become “richer”, or NOT “poorer” in life. Money and material become inconsiquential on those paths.

    Peace and Love

  • I remember once a spiritual teacher saying that we should never feel pity for the poor – although certainly we should help them if we can – and we should never feel envy for the rich, because it is impossible to judge by the bank account who is really rich and who is really poor. That bum living under the bridge might be richer in spirit than you are – in his heart he might be closer to God – and that rich man who lives in the penthouse might be the most wretched creature on earth.

This way of thinking of wealth and poverty has always stuck with me, and when I see someone who is very poor, it very much changes how I see that person. I recognize that the person may need my help, if I have help to lend, but I do not look down upon that person in pity, because I know that in terms of where that person is in their spiritual development, I may be a pauper by comparison. That person may well hold some word of wisdom that will add to my wealth by inciting me to grow. So, we should never discount the poor as being of no importance, a “no account” with nothing to offer the world; that individual sleeping on the street may have the very thing we need and can find no where else in the world. Only God knows who is rich and who is poor.

And I do agree that following the path of one’s personal legend, courageously, makes one rich in a much deeper sense than money. If we do not follow that path, fearlessly, willing to risk all, we have just squandered the one thing of value we have – time. I think we are indeed each here for a purpose – to follow our destiny. If we are too fearful to do this, we have wasted the very life we were given. There is no greater sin than this.

  • A poor person can be richer than the most rich people on Earth.I am talking about the inner world. You can make it as rich as you want and you will be surprise to see that things from inside … come outside into the real life.’Ve been there.

  • When I was a girl I used to like the .. most beautiful things, the best quality, the ‘real’, ‘original’, that of course were the most expensive. My father used to try to make me … land on Earth, jokingly saying : “You are a poor girl, with rich .. desires!!
So, for me, rich is the person who knows how to adjust and balance his desires with his… income. It is also the sincere acceptance of capabilities, probabilities and possibilities in our journey.
    LOVE,
    Thelma
