A very important symbol. The sign of eternity,of complete cycle.I remember that the 3,14.The number used to calculete the ray of a circle is a number considered important for Feng Shui.

Another one of these clever visual tricks. I don’t know why but looking at this pic gives me the start of a headache.

The first thought that came to my mind when i saw this image was…Toy Story….and the character Buzz Lightyear…and his catchphrase…”To Infinity And Beyond!!” :))

Thank you Paulo :)

When I was a kid my dad made a Mobius ring like this one out of papier mache to try and illustrate some of the paradoxes of physics and eternity. Having made what looked like a solid vessel he then poured water into it and obviously, it came straight out again, having neither inside nor outside. This was one of those moments when you realise that a) your dad is far cleverer than you’d ever thought and b) the universe is way stranger than you’d ever imagine. It might have been the same year he gave me Asimov to read; I’d be about 9. I had a slightly unusual upbringing.

Endless time. Notice the negative space behind the eternal oval. Graet work.

Hi,

it is wonderful. The human perception is so relative. Depending on the the spot that you focus on, the lower outline becomes upper outline and it never ends. if we keep this perception in our day-to -day transactions, conflict resolutions come so easy! You accept the fact that while you focus on one line, others might be seeing the other line!It simplifies life so much

Thank u, Paulo.

love,
jaya

Looks like eternity to me. (A better symbol for infinity than the infinity symbol itself.)

Visual perception is how we see the world. In the picture it is not easy to distinguish which is the upper part of the ring. This is very interesting and makes me think that we ‘see’ what we ‘think’ and the visual … illusions! Reality is a .. personal perspective.

Thelma

Marvellous. A physical mold of this would be excellent craftsmanship.
