  • @ Mirela Baron, I have just read your comment. I read that you are breastfeeding your baby for two years now. I did the same for my second daughter and it is the best and most rewarding action regarding the baby’s health and extra-sensory communication with her. I just wanted to tell you to take care of your health, because there are increased needs for your organism for special vitamins and especially ‘iodine’. Take care.
    All my love,
    Thelma

  • Since 7 years, since I bekamme pregnant with Aisha my first child,I took 20 kilo more weight then before.I decide to brestfeed her for 2 years,so I was sure that only with enough kalories I will manage to brest feed her all two hours and worck and keep myself fit. Before Aisha I was very hard to myself to keep my weight in control ,like I never eat after 6 p.m .or I`ve made gymnastic 5 days a week 45 minutes!
What I`m going to say is that Aisha healing me!All my natural ability to enjoy and feel how much i need in every moment to eat is camed back ,and is depending of many individual factors .The point is to start to feel again what the own cells are trying to say to us.Forget all the diets!!!
All are confuse!Let your brain outside!Just eat with your heart! It will tell you in every moment of your life what you need to satisfy yourself! The satisfaction that food is giving us is sacred!
Thank God that all my obssesion about the overweight of my mother are gone!Thank Aisha to came in to my life and gave me such a beautieful lesson!
In the meen time I loose 10 kilo and when i became pregnant with Hakim Paolo I took again 10 Kilo more ,and it is normal that after two years brestfeeding I have still more weight !!!I feel satisfy and happy and we are all helthy !!!That`s the point!!!I wish all humanbeing to remember again that Food is a Sacred Gift!

    Love

  • Dear Adina, thank you for the comments above. What do you think of … going away from home once again, so that your mother becomes.. slim again???!![I am joking!]
    Love,
    Thelma

  • I had to laugh so much dear Adina, I didn’t realize we “men” were responsible for the women’s over/underweight…;) Bless you dear…

Don’t you think that when someone for example diets in order to impress someone, that they are actually deceiving both the other person… & themselves…?

You are quite right that the slender image is marketed too well… much too much emphasis on looks & size, but it so important to remain true to ourselves… be comfortable with our own body… the true image we actually portray is to be seen trough our eyes… where our soul resides…

    Love, & be yourself, Paul

  • It is the current culture’s fault.VIP’s rules of living. Actors, singers, models, they run the world with their rules. They offer models of how to look, how to dress, how to cut your hair. Too much TV and magazines on this subject of “looking good”.

Also,as I am a tall woman (175cm), it is very often difficult to find in shops my size. It’s really frustrating. But even if I tried dieting after giving birth, my body is actually partially changed. Now I look “like a mom”, but I am ok with that. That’s why I think diet is seek particularlly by women that want to impress men.

Of course there are people with medical problems that may need diet.

So I thing it is our today’s culture fault, mainly men’s fault. We women want to impress men. What for? For love? What kind of love? By sacrificing your own body and health. Will men appreciate it? Nop. They may not know we do it for them. But we do it. Till when?

Do you remember the ancient statues from Motherhood times? They were leading the world and they didn’t care too much about their weight.

Also, in the insects world, the Quin is larger then any other insect and she the greatest and the most respected. She brings life into the world. We mothers shouldn’t be frustrated if our body don’t returns back always to the old shape.

I think overwight or underweith has conexion with your spiritual and emotional state also. When I left my country for good, my mom lost many kgs and she looked skiny like a really seak person. When I returned home she put them back.

  • why diet?
    why not love-based food?
love-based food, makes you happy and healthy . you feel more energy.
eating lovely, without stress masks you slim and young.
lovely ingredients, are not harmful for body.
so try to learn language of food’s soul.
during cooking, sing a song, that sounds of happiness makes the food happy and healthy.

  • Judith from Austria

I was naturally very skinny as a child, at the age of 13 I reached a normal healthy weight(still slim), but I felt everybody was disappointed by me. People treated me differently. Behind my back my family was talking about me, my mother despised me. She despises everyone who isn´t underweight, even if I would win the Nobel Prize she wouldn´t respect me if I was at a normal weight.
This spring, at the age of 22, I nearly became anorexic despite the fact that I am naturally underweight again. I looked in the mirror and all I could see was fat. I took ballet classes until I was 11, was one of the skinniest there, but in the miror I saw an overweight person.
Now I am able to eat healthy and normally again, because I remembered a vision of Jesus Christ who showed me unconditional love. I told Mr. Coelho in an e-mail and he answered it. Thank you very much, this gave me the courage to fight for my dreams and to battle the daemon in my head who tells me I don´t deserve to eat and to live.

  • Sometimes I lose weight without any effort, for example in the period of exams.Great stress.Than when I am short of money.Last summer I lost 15 kilos in two months.I had little money.Or now ,I worked all day and eat only little. But other times I must do lot of exercises, walking,so on…And my weight just the same…I dont know,I will never believe a receipe for losing weight. All bluff.
Anothe good thing would be kissing a lot, making love. That is good for being in shape…

  • I believe Eros has something to do with it…..yes.

    So who´s to blame?

    Mirror, mirror.

This is just a symptom - of the choices - We - make.

    In Love. In Life.

“We” chose and want beautiful, slim, sexy, attractive women. And men.

    Warming us up.

And who doesn´t want to feel attractive for the opposite sex - and be able to push the “right” buttons ?

No matter what it takes…..or the price paid……

Because that is - the straight way and key to paradise…..or…..????

    Hmmmmmmm.

  • The Mediterranean Diet is not a diet per se, it is ensuring that you eat at least five vegetables a day and fruit, and all you do is mixing all the products together.
Capsicum, lentils ,chickpeas, potatoes (bio) ones, eggs, celery, tomatoes, etc together with some garlic, 3 tablespoons of olive oil extra virgin (Bertoli), 1 of vinegar, some Moutarde a l’ancienne Maille(you can find it at Coles. or at Simply or Casino and you mix it all together. Add pepper and salt.
You can have your lettuce or spinach leaves , mache, etc separately or together.

  • ‘.. being in love is the best …calories spending!’
Eating chocolates gives the same signals in our brains, as when we are in love!
These are some ‘wisdoms’ I have read in various instances!
What do you think, dear Paulo Coelho and dear-est;] Paul from Austria, in .. our age, we can afford??
    LOVE,
    Thelma

  • Like Marie above, this is a sign -

The last paragraph in the article stood out to me ‘instead of artificially burning those calories, we should try to turn them into the energy we need to fight for our dreams; no-one has ever stayed slim for long just by following a diet.’

Focus your energy on your dreams that is the only to stay slim, as really its not what you are eating its how your eating!

  • Everything in moderation… no extremes… and take care that the chocolate rations are topped up… ;)

Too much of some good things “Like Love” can however be very good for your waistline… ;)

Love, is the dietary key, Paul

    [Reply]

  • …and you really think you are above such thing, Paulo?
You are not vain at all? You don’t consider a well-shaped body as attractive?
There is the reason for the modern cult of beauty - women (and also men) want to be admired for their appearance.
Would e.g. Madonna be admired on the stage, if she had 15 or 20 Kilos more of weight, which would be quiet normal at her age? Can you imagine that? Therefore she prefers to plague many hours in the fitness studio and makes special diets - and this way she is an idol!
You know I am right, isn’t it?

P.S. I have to be a little bit provocative today - I read somewhere you burn more calories in this state of mind. ;-)

  • Once again, this is a sign! I was just thinking that I feel fat because I gained 3lbs over the weekend. Weighing myself everyday is a weird ritual. Very bad.. Anyway, the Holidays start tomorrow here in the US: Thanksgiving, then comes Christmas, then New Years and whatever parties. I will just focus on the joyful moment with my family rather than my food consumption.

  • Being a vegetarian is not only eating salads! This is for sure!!! Being a vegetarian is not eating deaths!

I believe the most important thing is to be aware about what you are eating. Making choices!

  • Eat not much, nor less. This is the right way in every need/deed of human being.

  • I think that we should eat to live and never the opposite!! Food is a pleasure for many, but I think the time we spend with others while eating, is that gives to food value. It is the time spending with our beloved ones. Food also is a ..concern for mothers. I remember me ..crying because my daughter did not want to ..eat! I remember a friend pediatrician who told me that our body gives us the signs when we need to eat and drink, so that we can be healthy.Excess is a danger. So I stopped… crying.
Well we all wish to be …. like Madonna but I wouldn’t ’sacrifice’ bread and chocolates, just for a … smaller size!
    Love,
    Thelma

  • Thank you for refering at the topic of diet, and obsession about diet at this issue..SO many girls, younger and older women, spend so much energy in dieting…They Spend days, weeks, years, a whole life without actually Living..feeding to the vampires as you say.
I also love what you say about trying to commiting this energy in our making our dreams come true, converting something that harms us (in our soul) to something magnificent that cant make us understand more the miracle of Life..we can become little Alchemists…:)
    Thank you
