The Argentine writers have a unique creative talent, which reflects in a great way the Argentinean culture, but mainly the Buenos Aires life. I am fan of Borges, Sabato, and Cortazar, so when I had the opportunity to go to Buenos Aires, I understood the charm inside all its books. All this magical places that surround them, are the perfect atmosphere to create those unique stories. I think that finally I increase all city magic going to a Tango Dinner Show. Since I didn’t have a good reference for choosing a tango house, I decided to do a research on the web, and thus through an agency called BsAs4U, I book the most innovative (Sr. Tango) and one of the most traditional (La Ventena) tango shows. Both were lovely and everyone had their own appeal that made it unique.

‘I am not sure that I exist, actually. I am all the writers that I have read, all the people that I have met, all the women that I have loved; all the cities that I have visited, all my ancestors . . . Perhaps I would have liked to be my father, who wrote and had the decency of not publishing. Nothing, nothing, my friend; what I have told you: I am not sure of anything, I know nothing . . . Can you imagine that I not even know the date of my death?’
I found this quote on one of the websites about Mr Borges and wanted to share it with you…

Was it Borges that you said that you had travelled to see when you were a young man?
I haven’t had the opportunity to read Borges extensively, but I have read some of his short stories. The ones that have stayed with me are “El sur,” “Funes, el memorioso,” and “El etnografo”. (I hope my Spanish is correct here!!) I don’t remember having read any of his poetry.
What an awesome mind, intelligence and imagination this man had. From what I’ve read by him and from what others have said and written about him, I would say that he was a genius.

“He cometido el peor de los pecados
que un hombre puede cometer. No he sido
feliz. Que los glaciares del olvido
me arrastren y me pierdan, despiadados.
Mis padres me engendraron para el juego
arriesgado y hermoso de la vida,
para la tierra, el agua, el aire, el fuego.
Los defraudé. No fui feliz. Cumplida
no fue su joven voluntad. Mi mente
se aplicó a las simétricas porfías
del arte, que entreteje naderías.
Me legaron valor. No fui valiente.
No me abandona. Siempre está a mi lado
La sombra de haber sido un desdichado.”
…a mi entender lejos pero muy lejos uno de los mejores escritores que nos regalo este mundo…
Well, what an extraordinary great surprise. Finally, you come with that topic.I have such a great admiration for that writer,I was almost shock when I see you put his name on the page.I can tell is one of my very favourites, impossible to compare to someone else,so originall in his writings.I was amazed when I first read his short story”The Rose of Paracellsus”,sory if the title is not exact,I translated it.Than I read more and more about him, even some discourses in confferences,in a book “The beauty as a physical sensation”,again tittle might be not exact, was in romanian language.I loved “The Book of Sand”,quite incredible.I am so glad I read some of his works, because it would be a big lost not to do that.I loved the kind of fantastic he used, the symbols, that I am already too fond of,the tension and the surprise that kept awake the interest all till the end.Why not, amazing labyrinticall constructions, lovely, that make us not to be sure of anything,to think,to be part of the story.I am only sorry he was not rewarded the Nobel prize,I thought he definitely deserved it.The library as a labirynt,he himself as a character,in some writings,so interesting approach.I am so sorry I am not able to write very well in English ,because now I feel I lack words for describing what I feel when I hear that name,of that very important great writer.I must repeat is my very favourite,is something appart, above normality,he is kind of genius.Love you Paulo, for I know you like J.L.Borges ,bye
