What do you think are some of the most critical issues standing in the way of achieving peace in today’s world?
I would say that greed is what stands between humanity and peace. To see that wars are still fought for the sake of a privileged few is what perpetrates this endless circle of violence and hatred.

Yep, could not agree more. The good thing about it is that people are aware. They know they are being fed a pack of Lies and are willing to take a stand on those issues more and more. The Internet has something to do with that.
I think its the lack of great inner peace that confuses the man to believe that something “out-there” must be taken care of. If everyman was to find peace within, who would have the will to fight? Instead of fighting there would be sharing and giving.
After peace comes love and nothing negative can come out of those two. What do you think?

I think that greed and evil resides and fights in every one’s soul. It is the fight of good and evil. Our aim is to lead the way towards the victory of GOOD and VIRTUE. If each one of us, in his “tent” transforms darkness into light then the luminous aeons of Humanity will rise. To allow the Sun to shine in every soul and love to warm and melt the ice of .. egoism and separateness. We are all ONE. Our actions, feelings and thoughts affects the Planet’s destiny.

Yes, greed is a huge problem. But that begs the question of why people are greedy. Why do people always want more, even when it’s clear that they have more than enough already?
I think the answer to this is fear. People act out of the part of them that is a small frightened animal in a very dangerous world. Think of a mouse, or a squirrel hoarding nuts. We all have that part inside us.
Some people just act out of that directly, without thinking. Others try to be “grown-up” and act rationally by denying and pretending to themselves and others that they don’t have a frightened little mammal or small child inside them. They treat that part of themselves brutally. But it doesn’t work: their emotions rule them nonetheless.
The way to true maturity and mastery is to be aware of, and take good care of, that small frightened part. Only when that part is cared for, can we act from our higher selves.
It’s no use just telling people not to be greedy, or frightened, or aggressive, or prejudiced or…
What I think is really interesting about this way of looking at things is that it brings together spirituality and the latest brain neuroscience.
We all have a part of our brain called the limbic system, that is present in all mammals, and that holds memories and generates emotions. We also all have a very large part of our brain called the neo-cortex, which is uniquely human, and which is responsible for rational thought. What most of us struggle with is to have these two brains work harmoniously together, rather than flipping back and forth between them. With the right kind of work we can all (or almost all, excluding some unfortunate people with brain injury or serious mental handicap) develop this harmonious co-ordinated functioning. Some people can do this with meditation or other spiritual practices, others in good psychotherapy. If you’re really lucky, you learn it from your parents unconsciously in childhood, but that is unfortunately rather rare.
And isn’t it fear that lies beneath greed?

Well, take a look to the Middle East. What’s dividing people there, and forever? Greed or Ideology? Let’s accept difference, and the whole world would be a far better place.

Eh yes , some heading the world and some maintain conflicts by greed . When the man will understand that money cannot restore the love and peace in this world , and therefore THE change: a major step will be done

I agree with you. Greed was the main reason of bleeding the first drop of human blood, son of Adam killed his brother because of greed. So it is in todays world.
