THE BOOK IS MY FAVORITE! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THE FILM TO BE RELEASED FOR OVER A YEAR! I RECENTLY FOUND IT ON U TUBE AND WAS UTTERLY SHAKEN KNOWING THAT IT’S BASED ON PAULO’S PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WHEN HE WAS ADMITTED IN A MENTAL INSTITUTION AS A TEENAGER! CAN’T WAIT FOR IT TO BE RELEASED, I JUST HAVE TO HAVE A COPY!!

Too bad that the movie is set in New York. It really should be set in Ljubljana. In my opinion that’s a lost opportunity for the city of Ljubljana. It has been proven that famous movie locations have positive effects on tourism. My thoughts on the movie and lost opportunity http://brandsandfilms.com/2010/03/veronika-decides-to-die/

Does anyone know if the book that the character Eduard speaks about in “Veronika Decides to Die” is real?

I will quote from the book so that you know what I am referring to.

“The book was about visionaries who had shaken the world, people with their own vision of an earthly paradise, people who had spent their lives sharing their ideas with others.”

I’m sorry Elly but I don’t agree with you. I know that Sarah Michelle Gellar’s lates film were not so good as they were expected, but I think she is very talented. that’s why she was chosen to play Veronika.
On the other and, as you said, If the film is successful, of course it will be because it’s based on a fantastic book.

Dear Paulo,
As I was reading “Veronika decides to die” I understood, like you, that “madness” is probably one of the only time when we get close to God, where we can make sense of life.
Personally, I am convinced that we all go through some kind of madness at a period in our life and I had confirmation of it as I was observing the behaviour of one of my relative together with my own experience.
All I could see was fear and fragility.
I am glad this important subject has been laid onto the carpet once and for all.
People need to know the truth.
Thank you
Love

Dear Paulo,
You know what frightens me more than anything else, Paulo,is the way people are being labelled “mad” and subject to all kinds of “Abuses” by some members of the medical profession, governments in times of wars, family, etc. when there are better and natural ways of dealing with these problems.
I will always agree with you 100% on that subject.
Love beijos
:)
Marie-Christine
