By Paulo Coelho
The two worst strategic mistakes to make are acting prematurely and letting an opportunity slip; to avoid this, the warrior treats each situation as if it were unique and never resorts to formulate, recipes or other people’s opinions.

Dear Paulo,
I did both mistakes, now I am paying more attention and hope not to slip into same mistake again.
I am more and more listening my inner voice and accept my intuition as very good advice. It never failed me by now and it is pitty I did not listen to it before, as it would have saved me lots of troubles, heartaches and depression.
Another thing is that I never thought about it seriously until I read your books and it was real discovery to me, intuition and listening my own inner self (and accepting it) for good advice.
Thank you for showing me direction.

My .. sweet Queen Bee, my intuition has spoken and called you the name that you were called as a child from your Mother. I can ‘hear’ her now calling you with that ’sweetness’ in her voice that mothers have whenever they speak to their … sons!?
I am sure that ’stubborness’ to follow your dreams is what has kept you fighting even whenever there was a dark night around and loneliness. It is also the divine spark residing in your kind soul that kept you …. dreaming. Dreaming and creating as Kazantzakis has written and you have so wisely explained it above.
LOVE,
Thelma

I was reading all the new posts right now, and I’m happy that there is so many people out there that faces the life battles with their hearts open to life, it gives me courage to keep moving on and grow my faith each day, learning and trying to be a better person that I was before. And I totally agree with the fact that things happen for a reason, and there it goes some explanation of what happened before.
To Sido; I always checked the blog and everyones opinion, till I had read the question of the day and I couldn’t let it go, was chasing me everywhere, every thought, so I decided to post something for the first time, and the person that reply to me was Thelma, and she called me by the name only few calls me, Queen Bee; Bee is what my mom called me since I was a baby and Queen is the name that close friends started to use, that is for being so stubborn, following my dreams, (wich they always thought was crazy), so since I never followed anyones opinion, they gave me that name.
This is for T.K., since Kazantzakis is one of the discussion aspects here in the blog, I remembered that he talked about the ability that human beings have to transform things, to create things, and is that inexplicable force that moves us to act and follow dreams and fight battles, to create, that always intrigued me, we all have it, just like Kazantzakis says, so maybe you lost an opportunity but I’m absolutely sure you gained the experience, the knowledge that you needed for take the most advantage of the next opportunities to come.

Dear Sido, the story of the butterfly was mentioned before by Paulo Coelho and it is from a book of the famous Greek writer and philisopher Nicos Kazantzakis [I do not remember exactly from which book]. My library containts all his books!! They have been transalted to many languages and he has written directly into French too: “Le jardin des Rochers”. I am sure you have seen the film “Zorba the Greek” and the “Christ’s re-crusifixion” [I am not sure of the translation] that were adapted to films.
My dear-est Paul from Austria it was a … fruitful collaboration we had!!!;]

You can’t use your wiseness all the time and eventhough you act wisley it doesn’t gurantee your sucess. It doesn’t matter whether you act prematurely or hasty sometime but just follow your heart or God’s guidance( that is only human eyes haha and human can’t see what and how God’s see thing from vantage point.).Human like to work in math formula if we do this the result will be this, but God’s work doesn’t work that way.In God’s way sometime he lets you go ahead and make your mistakes( it wouldn’t matter) but what matters is do you have that much faith or trust on him that you may look hasty and premature now but he will make it perfect later, and will make it look like right thing at the right time.We people can only assume and love to think we could have done right if it was done otherway.I mean if we started thinking if we act hastily or prematurely then we will lose opportunity then that means we will neevr make msitake.I think there is no right time or perefct time we human only assume.God let thing happen at the right time withr ight reason which maybe revealed later but for us human who can see only one part of a thing and assume the rest to be something else ,it will always appear as somethign else orlike hasty or immature.

My dearest Bee,
everything is in the …plan. There are no .. coincidences. We just follow the .. signs. I may not have become a .. big pianist, but it seems that I have gained… intuition! ;] I do not follow what my logic says but my .. heart. The sound of others’ hearts!! The Path of beauty, of the Roses and of the … honey. This makes me … dream even in my darkest moments and continue .. living.

My dear Rami, we both fully agree! I wrote :to take the ‘pulse’ of the moment and then ….using all our wisdom..e.t.c,
Of course, the word wisdom refers to all our past knowledge and tools acquired in our path and then with the eyes of a child to see things as for the first time. Unprejudiced and with an open heart.
Unfortunately, usually we carry with us the vulnerability and the .. wounds of the past battles…
Thank you for .. reading my comment.

I let a major opportunity slip by years ago and its taken many years to try and move past the memory. i haven’t had such an opportunity of that magnitude since but remain in hope that maybe one day another chance will arise.
my mistake became a valuable lesson.

All I have to say is know how to pick your own battles! I try not to get wrapped up in fights that are not mine to fight for, meaningless drama, daily worries. I try to put my heart, mind and soul on those battles that are worth to fight, and for that I just have to listen to myself, and I fight with love and faith.
Btw Thelma you got it right the way you mentioned my name in the last quote, coincidence?!, only few people knows it and calls me that way because the meaning of my name. Thanks for your post.
Love, love, love to all!

some time in life we have to let oportunities stays a side and not taking them rite away, i believe that if we focus on leaving them a side but we dont give up on them, and we wait for the rite time and moment, most likely we will have this hapenning!!!!!! in Brida, that wich!!!!!who knew that he found his soulmate,,,,,,,the oportunity came… he didnt give up on it..
and yes we should look at each act and happenning as a unique situation, it gives this special HOPE esperansa, and that specilal feeling in us. (Brida was an amazing book- AMAZING)

well we should never listen to this or that of others ,and just listen to our own voice -that way it is done from spirit ,and not from fear.Blessings Tania

But without doing any mistake how can we then learn ?
And it´s also about practice, practic and practice.
It´s very good that you give us some advise Paulo :-)

Having been hurt a recipe or another one’s opinion to rely on, can be quite useful. At least for the moment. Just as some premature acts might have been useful in life to come to the conclusion what precisely is wise and not premature anymore. And even the phrase “don’t resort to a recipe and act differently according to the situation” is a recipe in itself, isn’t it?
Sorry, I’m having a negative day today… :-)
I like your thoughts, guys!

Thelma,
I agree with the idea that we must fight every battle as if it were our last. That way we will feel compelled to approach a situation with the utmost care and respect.
But because we all have experiences in life, it is foolish to not take with us the knowledge we acquire from past experiences into a new situation. We should not immediately and impulsively act on such recognizable patterns because things could be decieving. However, it is always good to have a library of tools and knowledge to merely assist you in finding the new, unique resolution to your current battle.

Oh,God,thats tough.I agree and disagree in the same time.Patterns may be of help, even if we change some of the details.I know we cant have patterns to all kind of situations, new things might occur.

The art is to take the .. ‘pulse’ of the situation and then act using all our wisdom and intuition with … passion. To fight as if it is the first and last chance of our life to .. gain Paradise!
The … secret, also, is to … enjoy the fight.
While I was writing, I remembered also the story by Nicos Kazantzakis of the .. butterfly.. Leave for everything the time to mature, to ripe.
