I have never written for an audience before today so I would like to share it here because Paulo has been not only my inspiration for attempting to write but also it was he, through Brida, who helped me discover the greatest gift of all – the true gift that I have been blessed with. I will always remember the day I first discovered his work and that day was only 3 weeks ago. Paulo, if you ever read this short story, I dedicate it to you.
———————–
‘I wonder where he is now’ she thought to herself as she gazed into the crystal blue waters of the small mountain lake.
She felt at one here with the universe; the fresh air caressed her skin as the leaves floated weightlessly to the ground beside her. The healing energy of this wondrous area danced with all of her senses and enabled her heart to feel full and alive. She relaxed with each breath of air, tasting the essence of eucalyptus in the air, listening to the sounds of nature, smelling the freshness of the morning dew and feeling the energy surround her as she gazed at the majestic mountains and soft clouds reflected in the water.
Sometimes an occasional ripple formed in the serene waters distracting her from her meditation, allowing thoughts to re-enter her mind. It occurred to her that Mother Nature artistically illustrated all the colours so perfectly, even before mankind. The colours were vibrant and alive; various shades of purple in certain leaves, pink in the most delicate of flowers; oranges, yellows, shades of brown and contrasting greens. She noticed how at peace she felt here and was thankful to the Universe for guiding her to a location with such powerful positive energy.
Randa knew she had met her soulmate in this incarnation and felt tremendous gratitude yet great sadness for the short time they had together. She had met other men and enjoyed their company, but none felt as familiar and intimate as her short time spent with him. It had been a year since they first met, but she still felt his presence with her; comforting her in times of sadness, rejoicing with her in times of victory and guiding her in times of doubt. She could see his face and feel his energy beside her as distinctly as if he was right there with her in that moment. She could imagine charting his features with the same intimate touch and attentive detail that an artist would give his masterpiece.
From the instant she’d looked into his eyes, she’d been enchanted by something within his soul. She felt her own soul come to life and her heart rejoiced. It was something she couldn’t define but that her heart understood. Randa recalled how she’d attempted to conceal her feelings because he was involved with someone else but the connection was unmistakable and she still couldn’t shake the feeling that they would meet again. She could only hope that it would be at a time when they were both free to be together but she knew that would mean he’d at some point have to suffer sadness and heartbreak so it was something she would never wish for.
For months after she left, the words of AS Byatt lingered in her mind; ‘I cannot let you burn me up nor can I resist you; no mere human can stand in a fire and not be consumed’ but when it came to love, she understood that no one person should influence another’s personal journey, even if that meant never seeing her soulmate again. She knew in her heart that her Guardian Angel was with her and had led her to her soulmate for a reason and that this reason was much Greater than she could ever know. The true blessing was that, now she could comfortably live alone, understanding that she would now always know great love because of that moment. It was enough that she had simply known him.
She recalled what she had learned; how each moment brought with it something different – a different energy, a different memory, a different experience all captured within one life. She was astounded at how much she enjoyed being alive and how she had found love within herself again, especially after having experienced much trauma in her short life. That small moment in time brought her soul back to life and taught her how to dance to the energy of the universe. She once feared the uncertainty but now understood that no two moments are ever the same and she certainly knew that, since that moment, nothing for her would ever be the same again. The universe and every element of life within it is ever-changing and for that reason, the magic in life continues.

This is based on a true story and is what Paulo’s guidance helped me to graciously find. For that I will always consider the book Brida as one of my most dearest treasures.
“This is the first lesson of Chivalry: you will erase what you have written in the book of your life until now: worry, insecurity, lies. And instead of all this you will write the word courage. Beginning the journey with this word, and following with faith in God, you will reach the place you have to reach.”
I rarely attended school, but read widely and profusely, and managed to graduate from high school. Through sheer serendipity I got into college, but was undisciplined, had low self-esteem, and a tendency to daydream that bordered on a total psychic break. A friend handed me a copy of “Psychocybernetics” by Maltz. Basically a handbook on creative visualization and how to build self-esteem from practically nothing. The author spoke about courage, about forgetting, about lies (he went to great lengths to explain how the brain can’t distinguish between what is real and what is a fantasy (worry is imagining bad consequences which have not materialized … yet).
Maltz based his advice on behavior modification theory, but he occasionally referred to God. This infuriated me since I was doing all the work in remaking myself, and God didn’t seem anywhere near when I really needed a divine presence.
I had the same reaction to the quote above, “faith in God.”
The only way I was able to resolve my dispute with God was to embrace the divine within myself. Faith in God and the Path to God is not the divine inacessible Other. It’s in each and every one of us, and it is only when we recognize and stop counting on some flash of the divine unknown to light our path that we will begin to change the world.
“When people get touched, they light up. When they don’t, they go into the shadows; so we should try to get everyone touched. They are not numbers and statistics, but real people.”
the young son of Peter Gabriel, from “Losing my virginity” by R. Branson
In a friend’s blog, he shared a story about how his broken ankle was actually a blessing. He posed the question:
Have you ever had an event that happened in your life that was portrayed as ‘bad’ to most people that you instead viewed it as ‘good’?
This was my reply…
———————-
The simplest way it affects my life is that I have much lower stress, more peace of mind, improved overall health… and opportunities seem to “fall out of the sky.”
When I (and most everyone I know) get upset or wrought about something, I get tunnel vision and become narrow-minded. This closes me off to opportunities that may be sitting right in front of me. By internalizing things differently, and seeing the ultimate good in all my experiences, I keep myself open so that tunnel-vision doesn’t occur. If an opportunity arises, I have the opportunity to see it and the energy to pursue it.
That’s why I mean by opportunities “falling out of the sky.” They’re always there, and by choosing to view life as my teacher I keep the line of sight between myself and the opportunities wide open.
The big way my father thought I was in denial was in 2001 when my older brother died of cancer. Most of my family was completely wrought, and while I did have sadness in my heart… it was mostly for his two children that would grow up without a father.
My view was – I was grateful for his influence in my life, both as a role model, as a 2nd father (he was 10 yrs older), as a friend, as a mentor… in many context I was grateful. That feeling doesn’t change whether he’s here or not, and mourning his loss doesn’t actually enable me to live any more of the life he helped enable.
I’m not saying that grieving is pointless. The heart wants, and it’s important to respect its feelings. However, holding onto the grief… dwelling in it… especially over “what might have been” is moving away from being true to one’s heart and is borderline masochistic. Excessive grief prevents us from learning the lessons, growing, and living even greater than before.
Your broken ankle is no different than a broken heart from the loss of a loved one, or getting fired from a job, or a relationship breakup. They’re all stuff that happens, and after the initial shock and working through any emotions that come up, it’s up to us to choose how we act from here on out.
At my brother’s eulogy, I gave a speech in which the basic theme was to smile. I spoke with strength, conviction, compassion, composure… and with tears in my eyes. There was no denial, but rather, gratitude and acceptance for what was and what is.
Now as I continue to get older, my father no longer believes I live in denial. He’s seen me go through enough of these upheaval / traumatic situations that he knows it’s not denial. He doesn’t understand how I handle these situations the way I do, and he readily acknowledges he couldn’t do it himself, but he now sees that it’s not denial either. It’s just me.

Healing is Allowing
Your natural self is a balanced self; it is a healthy self. Allow yourselves to understand that a preoccupation with being healthy can sometimes be an indication of holding on to a belief of disease. The self that is balanced does not think about the idea of trying to be healthy. You do not have to try to be healed; you do not haveto try to heal others. All you need do is go to your center. You do not have to “try” to go to your center; your center is who you really are. All you have to do is allow yourself to be who you are. Healing is allowing, not making, not trying, not forcing; it is allowing. You have to “try” to be away from your center. You do not have to “try” to go back to your center. Just let go; relax the expectations. Relax the resistance and you automatically glide smoothly back into center.
This is an excerpt from a Bashar Session – brilliant as usual. Read the rest here:

Change and a better world begins with each individual. It is being the change you want to see in the world regardless of your circumstance. This will end envy, jealousy, poverty and hatred. By taking responcibility of one’s self, dreams and fears, each individual can rise to the greatness they are. From a place of love and respect individuals will want to help empower others. We must each face the wars, the anger, the hatred and the negativity within ourselves, surround these feelings with love and open up to the possibility of our goodness.
For myself, it has taken suffering, courage and strength to look at my weaknesses, fears, anger and blame of others and claim all of this. I now have a strong enough sense of living and sharing my passion with others that each day opens new doors. I meet people from all walks of life and I am better for having faced my fears and moving forward one step at a time. I have just finished reading The Alchemist. I am grateful for how this book validated me, my journey and the human spirit.
Wishing everyone prosperity!

I am worried about the future of the State of Bolivia. Sunday 60% of the bolivians voted for the new Constitution, which is a very important process for any democracy. Although when you read this new Constitution it proposes a different treatment of the people. It classifies the people between nationals, indians and afrobolivians and each “class” has different rights. Moreover this Constitution recognizes a plural legal system, which is not defined and not organized in this general Constitution. How are the Human Rights going to be garanteed in a state that recognizes different legal norms? How are the judges going to give justice? How are women going to be treated in the indian communities where discrimination is part of their culture (generally although not always)
This differentiation of human beings was made in the nazi-Germany and we all know what the consecuences where, The potential discrimination of people in Bolivia is scaring.
I made an informal analisis of the new Constitution in my Blog. It is in spanish.
Thanks for this space!
I was trying to write my name on a petition for the link on your email Warrior of the light regards the witch.I recently watched a programme on this woman and she appeared to be so highly thought of.I could not access the Petition site.
This is another blog I like: “Dhamma Musings”. The author of the blog is unpretentious, humorous, learned and serious. You don’t get this combination easily.
In this post, he recommends the film, “The Elephant Man” as “the best commentary I know on Dhammapada 262-3, ‘If someone is jealous, selfish or dishonest, they are unattractive despite their eloquence or good features. But the person who is purged of such things and is free from hatred, it is he or she who is really beautiful.’.
He writes, “Today theater, whether on stage or screen, can be intellectually, morally and spiritually uplifting (although it often isn’t). It can challenge us to think, it can transmit important ideas, it can motivate us to act and change things for the better. Seeing a good film is little different from reading a good book.”
His is a contemporary voice, dealing with the issues of today from the depth of timeless wisdom.
Please check this post http://sdhammika.blogspot.com/2009/01/elephant-man.html, if you are interested.
Regards,
we are all prisonners somehow,it’s just is.
It’s very irritating to be surrounded with people who wanted to change things around them and refuse to see that the problem is within themselves.. Why can’t people see that the reason why bad things happen to them is because it’s their own doing?
Of course it is good to do yur greetings on a deli basis.

Life in Mars
Scientists say they can prove that there is life on Mars. NASA released a similar video.
What raises many questions is that the information which led to notice the existence of water and methane on Mars and thus very high probability of the existence of life, nearly two years ago, is evidence that NASA had ALREAYDE in its hands.
Why NASA did not bring these evidences much earlier?? Just… guess!

Many attempted to change the world… promised to make this planet a better place to live in… only for them to taste disappointment and failure… Because it’s impossible to change this world alone… Not the president, not the people, not the government, not the church, not the most powerful country, not even you or me… it takes every person on this planet earth to surpass daily struggles and make each day relevant…
” Hours are too short, years are too long
Days are the bite-size portion of life ”
In our attempt to change our perspective towards are daily life: like greeting the day with a smile, eating healthy breakfast, doing your homework, studying your lessons, going to school/office early, stretching your patience to the car who cuts you, greeting the security guards in your office, smiling to your officemate you’ll bump along the hallway, reading a good book, being grateful – in this seemingly irrelevant events of our day we are actually changing the world…

I’m wondering why the media has put shut a huge spot light on what Michelle O is wearing. Does fashion have that much of a role in our society today? Don’t we have so much more to worry about than what the first lady is wearing? When there are folks out there that don’t have two shirts to put on their backs!
