Hola Paulo, Me encantaría viajar. Me gustaría estar sentada ahí. La persona parece que espera ver a alguien. El efecto visual de las escaleras marea, produce algo de vértigo.

If you are too far away ahead or too far behind…you are lonely..

I have a photo that was taken of me during my time living in rural Japan. Although taken from a distance, my location was evident due to how utterly different I look from my homogenous surroundings of black hair, shorter statures and different-toned skin.

I never considered myself a “winner” but rather she who opted, in the idea of Robert Frost, to take the road less traveled…and that made all the difference.

Be well, sir.

It looks like “the steps of life” :)

The little things left behind go unnoticed. Bewildered, we wonder what it is for which we long; and so we search the void, until at last they are retrieved. Thus received, they are returned, gracious acceptance. The idea of humility left behind we rise into sincereity.

Only one wins the gold. But, that win is never in a vacuum. Look around at the number of supporters that were behind the scenes, and are not here, now. They, too, are part of the picture, though not seen.

in all of your books, the same story – of one’s awakening to their true self, to their inner truth – how inspiring and hopeful is that? i can never get enough.

Wow… She is just standing there, but still the image seems to be so vivid, so perpetuum mobile, if I may say so. It`s a beautiful picture.

Perhaps she is simply tired, and stopped to rest. Perhaps she has been to the mountain top, and paused to remember something that was spoken that touched her heart. Perhaps it then could be said that she is romancing the stone foundation of her own heart, remembering. It is not just our job to love others but to love ourselves, perhaps even first. Yes, first. Maybe that is how we love others from our best rather then from our worst. The ego is our self esteem, we are allowed to have self esteem? A healthy sense of self is vital to our thrivability. The ego is a beautiful thing if we could rid ourselves of all the ugly myths that surround it, or so it seems to me.

She does not only … sit alone, but she is …tired in the half way!!
Hopefully we will not be tired on our up-ward way .. The ladder!
LOVE,
Thelma

I really like this picture. The black and white colors give it a sombre feeling, but I like that.

Today’s image reminds me of the first picture and the man walking on the dock(#3?). It really makes me think of loneliness on the path. The woman has stopped half way up the steps to rest or think? To me she needs to continue up the stairs because she has climbed so many and should not give up.

I look at this photo and wonder out of all the places she could sit, why did she pick that spot? Why not more to the right, or the left, or higher or lower. Why that position?

I think she views that place where she is seated the perfect spot to be (as uncomfortable as it may be).

Every baby step upward a small miracle.Sometimes it is good to look down to see how far we have managed to climb.

well…???
She’s in the wrong place or what? She came too early or too late?
Or…scary stuff…she’s the last person on Earth,lol.
No I’m joking,if you think deeper:she thinks she’s alone and that no one else has the same problems than she has.She thinks that no one can understand her.The place is full of people in fact but she only can see herself(ego again).Oh yeah the “5 of Cups”:she’s so concentrate on thinking about what she has lost(spilled cups) that she can’t see the new occasions(dressed cups).Or maybe the fact that she’s alone there associated with the title:”The Winner Stands Alone” means that she has finally won the game. It’s a stadium, right?not sure.Well you get my point.

There are too many steps we should pass to the victory and be the winner.
