More and more languages are disappearing from the face of the earth.
When this occur, a whole community dies, their soul vanishes. This is what happened to the South American Indians (not only we have depleted the rain forest region), the Natives from America, the Aboriginals, the French did it in Indochina by changing their written language into a westernised way, etc.
By all means, let us have a common language, be English or whatever, in order for us to communicate and understand each other better. This can be done without taking the dignity and the spirit of other nations, our roots are at stake here.It is our heritage.

International music is not widely broadcasted. When you listen to different songs in different languages – you get transported into a different world – it is the same with films. I used to love going to the movies with the subtitles it enriched me so much, even if I could only grasp one word at the end of the film I felt a connection with the people of this country.

The web never fails to surprise me. It really is a web when former classmates and colleagues can find you on the web. And it’s a gift especially when you’re linked via the web to family abroad. But I’ve also chanced upon many mudslingers on the web. Brings back images of the dark ages, the witch hunts, the Ku Klux, racism, bullying and the irony is that its being on the web displays the great divide in terms of time…but not in terms of human folly and destruction. High tech modes, same modicum of behavior on the web. Of course, it’s a free enterprise, just that you’d wish it’s used more for genuine human advancement. But then again, I’d bet those mudslingers who come into my blogs and spit at me number fewer than I’d think. I’d never blow things out of proportion in real and virtual life.

Here’s the beginning of a spiritual story that I wrote called “Lightning Crashes…”
—————————-
With a thundering and ominous boom, lightning struck fiercely into the redwood tree nearly splitting it in half. As the rain continued to pour, Mother Eagle knew she had but one chance to save her offspring before the tree would no longer stand. She knew they all had at least another 30 years of life left in them, and she was going to do everything in her power to make that become reality. Even with the tree’s promise to stand tall as long as possible, she was not confident that her family would survive this storm.

Mother Eagle knew she had to move her offspring to a safe place, so she flew them one by one to a small nearby cavern where she knew they’d be out of harm’s reach. Unfortunately, Mother Eagle was growing old and her talons were not as strong as they used to be, and this ordeal was a significant strain upon her already wavering body.

She returned to the nest for her last little one, Antinanco, and as she was closing her talons upon him, another bolt of lightning struck the tree its final blow. The eagle’s nest also split in two from the vibration, Mother Eagle lost her grip, and little Anti plummeted towards the ground….

Here’s the rest of the story:

I consider myself to be a very spiritual person, yet, it has taken me until now to understand the full import of loving my neighbor as myself. I have heard so many people, Christians, say to me that they live a certain lifestyle while there is such poverty in the world because, “They worked hard for what they have, they earned it.” Or, they may say that they, “give to the poor” or to charity. But that is not what Jesus is saying here, it does not say give what is left after you give to yourself. Or, give what is comfortable, after you give to yourself. It is saying, think of others in the same way as you think of yourself. Care for others as you would care for yourself, not after but in the same moment, in the same breath with the same love. It says give to others what you would give to yourself, because you earned it for yourself and for your brother. If we all did this, then no one would be without enough. This could be called many names, it could be said that I am talking about socialism or even worse, communism – but I am quoting the Bible, I am speaking about religion. Yet, I am really speaking about the topic I began this with, fear. Fear is as responsible as greed and selfishness for the mess that we are in.

We fear that we will not have enough to share, yet in truth, if we do not share we will not have enough. No one rises up with a full belly. No one steals when his needs are met. The storehouse is dwindling and if the owners don’t begin to share, the peasants will take it over. It is a story that is repeated time and time again throughout history. We must begin to allow ourselves to open to the belief that we are not separate unless we separate ourselves. We are all connected by the Spirit that runs through the One Body. We are One in reality, we are One in necessity, and we are One in God. The only way that we will guarantee our own health and survival is to care for the health and survival of the entire Body of which we are all a part.

Thank you,

Denise

I want to see in the supermarket(I’m not talking about bio market)
-soya butter(in U.K. they got it,here no)
-almond milk without sugar!!!
-Agar sugar ect…..
we need more adverts,we need to know that we can make a tart pasta with rice flour,we need to see pizzerias with a soya flour pasta, like I’ve tasted it in Italy recently,no difference and the pasta is so light.Stop saying that cow milk has the best amount of calcium,it’s not true..
Stop calling those things “exotic things”,make it an habit.
And about the price too,I know it’s a different matter but still those things need to be more accessible.

I think that if we want to change,we first need to change our eating habits,it plays on our mood,it plays on so many levels, but we need help to advertise it more and make it a reality to those who can’t afford it as well.

Joe Ades got people’s attention very easily outside the Union Square Greenmarket in New York. Here is the video which demonstrates his skills-

(In this video,Joe Ades demonstrating the use of his $5 vegetable peeler outside the Union Square Greenmarket. He died on Sunday. )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCUct4NlxE0

Adapted from New York Times news-
——————————————————-
“He loved the street more than anything.”

It helped that he had a voice like a radio announcer’s. “His voice really carried,” Mr. Hughes said. “Joe would say to me, ‘You have to not be afraid to talk to yourself out loud.’ He said that once he started talking out loud, somebody would stop, and once he had one, he’d have a crowd, and once he had a crowd, he’d sell peelers.”
———————————————————
May God bless the departed soul, and give his family the strength to bear this enormous loss.
