In my new book, one of the characters has this dream of walking the red carpet. This week, while I was at the Berlin Film Festival, a friend of mine asked for the same experience and I managed to put a hidden camera in the carpet. So join me in this experience.

I remember wen I meet Paulo year 2000 in a bookstore “Amadeus“in Vienna,in the very first moment wen the door of elevator opened ,a few TV camera were there and I`ve scared a litle;somehow the same efect was on the red carpet too…The flash light and that screaming is not the same like in a concert sall !It is not really confortable…
It needs a very good portion of courrage and a strong solar plexus,maybe a very concentrated mind!

From here, it seems a scary experience, a bit like a jungle. I don’t know is anybody did this kind of thing before. Anyway, it is interesting to see the other point of view, too… the point of view of the walker on the red carpet.

Paulo Coelho was NOT “The Cinderella”, dont’worry! He don’t was even “the one of the spinsters”! Paulo can be just “The Stepmother”; he can’t be even “The Crown Prince”, becose the Prince was NOT married! The Prince invited all the young ladies in the land to a ball for choose a WIFE, not a MISTRESS!!! ;-)
W CARNIVAL ON THE RED CARPET! :-DDD

The red carpet,
Well, My curosity took me to Googling the “red” keyoword where I quickly jumped to the Wikipedia pages (Which are for free), this is what is says,
“In human color psychology, red is associated with heat, energy and blood, and emotions that “stir the blood”, including anger, passion, and love”
Now remains another keyoword in your title called “Carpet”,
“A carpet is any loom-woven, felted textile or grass floor covering.”
But there were many definitions which I simply ignored,
Now, the experience of mixing these two terms gave me an impression that- Why should not I google the keyword “red carpet” then somebody has written something on wiki pages,
“A red carpet is traditionally used to welcome VIPs such as dignitaries and celebrities at formal events. ”
Now, As far as my understanding goes-
1. I am no VIP.
2. I am no dignitaries or celebrities.
Having said that, I am a normal ordinary human being and I do not know how you feel being on the Red carpet or blue carpet or yellow carpet.

As above mentioned quote suggests, I do not know if a person experience is simply the name which is given for the mistake committed or whatsoever.
Finally as I am quoting lot of text from other people, here is what I have to say-

I mean this in the best way- That was nerve wracking. I don’t think I could do that (I’m far too much of a hermit perhaps.) But I suppose it depends on the individual. You look really reserved and almost zen like. Is there a preparation for that?
Congratulations on the new book, from the looks of it the work seems to be very captivating. A brave departure from previous books. I reserved my copy so I wouldn’t have to deal with struggling for a copy.

KenaSiu – I didn’t see it at first either. There was a blank page at first. But later I tried again, refrhesed the site, and it worked. Maybe it needed a bit time to upload… before watching it.
For some reason I’m not able to see your video in the red carpet… even though it is not that necessary for me to see you there, you have been in MY red carpet for a long time.

I believe, that dreams do come true. One way or another, if we set our hopes, mind and love on it. In different forms, they come true – and possibly not exactly in the form we wanted it to, but a dream always “finds a way” :D. And sometimes it takes time, and convincing (convincing us to believe it, how You recommended me to do. Believe that it honestly can come real – sometimes that IS the hardest part for some people… but it’s also a neccecary part.).
With that hug, You’ll symbolically pass on my good thoughts and positive vibes towards that day You will be spending there (and I assume many will join me with this). And also the good vibes that this day will possibly enhance many lives indeed, even outside the crowd in present. And also: I will read the text with You, what Paulo put on his myspace last year… some traditional text, a prayer, that’s read each time on that date of year. So You will know, that I will be with You in my thoughts that day, even if I’m not there physically.

What does it look like? A cattle call. Ooh, I’ll take that dress, yuck to that other one, what was she thinking? Did she look in the mirror before she went out?

But on the other side I am sincerely very happy that You will have this event coming and another new experience coming Your way. Even if it’s not some people’s first time, some things can seem like the first time every time it happens. Maybe someday I will be able to join the crowd aswell… if it’s meant to be. :)
And comments on the video: on one side, I love Paulos humouros way and a way of attitude towards people – how he’s taking it so lightly. Ok Paulo, what were You thinking when You walked through there? :D But on the second hand, the noises, and how persistent the photographes were, and how many flashlights hits your eyes when they take the pictures etc. etc… to do this often, would be hard, if I take it from my personal level. But at the same time – maybe sometimes Your readers seem as percistent and keen on knowing more about You and they want to get closer to You… and that’s why You understand it better. It flashes You like the photo-cameras, but in a different way. Maybe me aswell – hoping to join Your crowd someday on the 19th of March. :) And since You are an open person, You don’t “shoot everyone down” from the first second, people love You even more.
But I did love the common-human attitude. It makes the surroundings look more peaceful, in another light… attitude changes many things.

Just to be on the safe side: I walked many times the red carpet, it may be thrilling sometimes, but the idea here is to show how does it looks like. This is the first time that I managed to get permission, as “The Winner stands alone” has a description of such an experience.

My my..Is scaring…One must be really balanced to walk on the red carpet.Is not easy.
I had in my life some nice experiences,not as nice at the red carpet ,but for me were exciting.When i was in school I was singing in the chorus,so we took part at a regional contest,on a scene,with lots of spectators.We got the third place,not bad.In the end of high school,I was in the yard with everybody to the closing festivity.Nodody warned me,just I hear the president calling the best student of the high school for taking the diploma.My heart started to beat fast,as I was afraid to hear my name.In fact,to faint,I hear exactly my name.What could I do?In the middle of applauses,I walked trying to not shiver towards the president,seeing my mother crying,the prof of history jumping and shouting “bravo”,smiles of other prof,lots of applauses.For several days the effect was there,I felt like walking among clouds.
I am thrilled from the enthusiasm, warmth and love people call you.. The vibrations of the experience have touched me … here in my home in Cyprus. I am proud of you, dear Paulo Coelho and honoured to be ..a …friend in your Blog.
