I’d like to think this is what I am going through right now – the final test before the dream is fulfilled. Only time will tell…and signs. The signs say “yes”: believe, trust, fear not, entertain no doubt, push forward, have patience, but above all, persevere. Perhaps this is the test: to exhibit these qualities when the sky is on fire and all the stars are falling. And only yesterday it seemed I was there…or almost there.

This is the way the legends speak of the Holy Grail. Always there is that first glimpse, followed by its sudden and mysterious disappearance – it simply vanishes into thin air, leaving the beholder to wonder if it was ever really there at all, yet filling the heart with an otherwise unquenchable thirst for the shimmering contents of that cup. Then come the tests: the passage through the dark night of the soul, where everything seems suddenly impossible; the odds, insurmountable; the vision itself, surreal. And only when all the tests have been passed does the Grail again make itself visible, only then does it render itself attainable.

I do feel that way in this period, almost as though some slight-of-hand trick has been played upon me by the gods themselves. One minute I was just about to reach out and take it in my hands, the next, I found myself embroiled in a torturous test of all my beliefs and convictions, a test of all the things I’ve learned (or thought I had learned, now hope I have learned well enough) along the way, on the journey that brought me to this place.

Dear Jessica, So sorry to hear of your daughters, the chin and the high fever. I have 3 daughters and when they were small I always felt so badly when they were ill or hurt, much worse than if it were myself, that’s for sure.

I hope that you’ll be over your bout with the flu very soon.

Take care,

Nanci

we shouldnt be scared of tests,,,, we r tested every moment in our life,,, it helps us to know that what ever we have learnt and even if we have had some mistakes,,,,, we still can try and do and fulfill our dreams,,,, and if we r faild in one test,,,, dont worry tomrrow we’ll have another test , and another one,,, and yes we just know that we r getting to our final answer, dream, deccision, etc,,, so lets the test chalege us,,, thats fine we just have to have our courage to go on! not to give up!!!
good luck in ur test!
with lots of love

oh my goodness! How I have repeated the test many times only to figure out the lessons I’ve learned for some reason I fail to apply. They become a lost memory in a sea of confusion.

But for that final test to come you must dare to dream and fight till the end. Never give up, it’s all worth it at the end.

When we try to understand the language of the universe, how
do we know which is a test and which is a sign to change our
dream? Is it enough to listen to your heart, to your soul,
to your gut and use that as your guide to your dream? What
do we feed our heart/soul/gut so we know which dream to
follow, and which dream to abandon? Or do we always follow
our dreams to the end, no matter what?

Dear Paulo,

It’s a funny thing, this test. Just when you think you’ve arrived, your entire sphere of existence seems to laugh in your face. Everything that you thought you were, and that you thought you knew is questioned.

I suppose that coming full circle is a unique experience for each person. But, I do not think it happens quickly – not a single aha moment. It happens more slowly. We may stop at each “question,” cautiously at first, to examine what we thought we knew, and when it finally stops biting, we face its ironies. We struggle to understand and sometimes do, but sometimes acceptance is the most that we can manage.

Our glimpses of truth, or even interactions with it, may falsely lead us to believe that all knowledge can be tested. It can’t. Here is where you realize just how vital are your beliefs and your faith.

Sometimes I think that this “soul of the world” test is reserved for those who think that they know more than they do, but definetly reserved for those with the courage to have travelled far enough to be tested.

Again, I thank you, Paulo.

Love,
Diane

just when all is at last nearly well…

Hi,

I am a big fan of Mr Coelho and I have all his books. They have really been an influence on my life. Mr Coelho’s books have encouraged me to follow my dreams which I have done. The first dream was to start a creatve organisation. The first attempt I met with terrible negativity which really hurt me. The second attempt everything seemed to fall into place. I met amazing people with wonderful talents. From the second attempt I met a man who I believe to be my soulmate. Everything started well and then obstacles started appearing. I really do believe that we are tested and that these tests help us to grow stronger as people but they also teach us to let go of the past and follow our hearts. I also believe in signs and concidences and since I met the fella there has been a lot of coincidences. Thank you Mr Coelho.

Best

TL
