Advertisements and ‘brain wash’. Money. The system in every aspect of our lives. They ‘hypnotise’ people and serve whatever they want.
I think we must always use our judgement and make our decisions unprejudiced and freely.

Thelme

We have come a long way haven’t we. Or have we? Some may not have noticed the title of the movie, “Have gun, will travel” What is the status of the gun in todays society?
Although cigarette smoking may be declining in most modern countries, guns still seem to be a problem.
All we can do is work toward that evolution, when destructive thinking begins to decline also.
Remember, the world used to be flat.

Oli: I agree… we should live and enjoy our lives. And if You need a cigarette to do that – ok! It is fine with me!

But my perspective is – I do not enjoy them, I dislike the smell, and the smoke also makes my hair, clothes smell etc. Just like Thelma commented on yesterday’s smoking advertisement. This is also something I feel strongly about.

It is everyone’s own decision…if to smoke or not to smoke.
BUT! In the other hand – if it is everyone’s free choice and if they find it themselves, it is ok. But why advertise it? (Yes I know, I know, the companies need money and new clients…)

All best,
Liina L.

I have a lung disease and I believe part of it was caused by other people smoking around me.
I respect people right to smoke – it is a choice – Our children smoke and they go outside (in their house or anywhere else)

The “Gauloises” and the “Gitanes” are the worse.
These people should be going straight to The Hague….

hi everybody!
1:to Liina l: who knows if there was a doctor or not:))?
2:i would like to tell u a story
it was august,i was working in the center of a big italian city,u know, the time of the holidays, when everybody deserts the city and goes (to hell) = there isn*t much traffic on the streets = less smog (at least i think so). but guess what! surprise! one day i opened the doors to the balcony to make enter fresh air ,and in the evening there was so much dust as i can*t describe.i am a smoker from around 17 years, and lately was thinking to leave the cigaretts as i*m the only smoker where i work.but the lesson i learned this day is that even without the cigaretts the dirt around us is enough to bring us any desease (i won*t mantion how many cases i know of nosmokers with cancer of smokers) and at the end, witn or without cigaretts ,there will come the day when i will die. or maybe i should think for the poor worms that will eat my smashed lungs?
so! enjoy life as long as possible!
and with the old mad advertisments (for that one-lots of thanx) (what kind of man did believe this…lie?!)
think about how they wash the minds of the people (ans they still do it today)
peace on earth
and love to everybody
oli

I have read John Grishams novel The Jury. There were a very interesting representation of how companies are trying to show that smoking was not dangerous.I loved the novel, actually now I am reading another one of same author.
I smoked,while working in factoty,for each break I was alone,everybody went out to smoke.I gived up smoking once because my lover was not smoking.After several years,he left me.I went out with friends,so I start smoking again.For a short period,some months.After,I started sport,kung fu.Was good,I forget soon smoke.And I feel better,healthier.My class mates.who smoke,seem older many years than me.he he

Hehh… another funny one.

About the cigarette commercial: I’d start to wonder, who IS this doctor who did those tests. What tests did the proceed on the patient, which methods did he use, and how wide and effective and reliable was his research. What was his knowledge in medical area and the effects of smoking in general… and was he paid off. ;) (In other words, was he paid or manipulated to state these results for more people to believe in the commercial)

Ohhh!
Love,
L.L.
