M.Ch. (short for Marie-Christine) :,
Went to the super-market – the price of the Flora anti-cholesterol Margarine has gone up .50 cents. I cannot believe such a rise. It is part of the daily staple. Soon, I’ll have to use my Visa plastic card to purchase food in credit.
It reminded me of the story of the truck driver, going through customs, “Anything to declare?”" No, Sir”,”O.K. Let’s check the back of the truck, please, open the door.” “Sure”. Puzzled look onto the customs officer. There is an elephant with two pieces of buttered bread stuck in each ear? What’s that?? he asked. You said you had nothing to declare?”
“Oh. Well now if we cannot put anything we like in a sandwich….”
Not Flora Margarine, that is for sure.
I don’t know why my last post wasn’t approved but I really want to share with you a bit of change in perspective with what was said in that message, although it is only a small story, but that can make you think. It’s also important to see the context in which this was said, so with your permission I will copy/paste again what I’ve tried to post yesterday:
““You may remember the story of how the devil and a friend of his were walking down the street, when they saw ahead of them a man stoop down and pick up something from the ground, look at it, and put it away in his pocket. The friend said to the devil, “What did that man pick up?” “He picked up a piece of Truth,” said the devil. “That is a very bad business for you, then,” said his friend. “Oh, not at all,” the devil replied, “I am going to let him organize it.” I maintain that Truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect. That is my point of view, and I adhere to that absolutely and unconditionally.”
This was said by Jiddu Krishnamurti in 1929 in Holland
This was said at the dissolution of The Order of the Star and it remained in my mind from the moment I’ve read it because it is very relevant for the idea that you cannot organize the Truth because it is loosing it’s profound meaning. Tell me what do you think about this and especially about the illusion of following the Truth in an organized way…
You can find the rest of the text here: http://www.kinfonet.org/Biography/dissolution.pdf
Leaf,
OK, I got your pronounciations too…
Catherine M,
I like your poem “Good News”…
Well done, Keep up the Spirit, Simple and beautifully written !
God bless you all :)
I keep on hearing that what we need in Washington is “new thinking”. Yet we keep on going to people with lots of experience or “old thinking” to come up with “new thinking”. This would make sense if the people with lots of experience are willing to put aside their old experience and be creative and think in a new way. Somehow this sounds like a difficult task. If you have years of experience doing something a certain way and got the results you wanted and it worked for you, why would you start doing things differently? One reason might be, that the old ways just don’t work anymore. It’s not about right or wrong, it just means that what used to work does not anymore. This is a very difficult concept for most people to grasp. This is at the heart of all transitions.

Alex,
Very helpful and well-written post which I have shared with a number of people.

Good news
October 27, 2008
That morning
A miracle-worker
Woke up betting
What new blur
Could be reading
In the paper
As soon as he
Put his glasses
On his nose
He discovered
Paper’s empty
He ran the lanes
To the vendor
To get the idea
Why
Why
Said the vendor
Baldly
No more wars
No more starving
No more crimes
No more aimings
No more rapes
No mishaps
No more
Good news
Claimed the miracle-worker
While the vendor
Was closing his shop in anger
Now all the journalists
I bet
Will have to talk the words
Of the poet

Today my mind does not work properly!! I have a cold! Yes, we catch colds even in Cyprus! It is raining and it is snowing on the mountains! It is a blessing, we will have enough water this year.
Have a nice evening.
LOVE,
Thelma
Well done Santosh.
It’s really heartbreaking..and disturbing sometimes. The way you write is sincere and there’s al lot of emotion in it.
Read them all and will read them again.
I have loved “Scientific people, unscientific mind” and that sentence:”between religion and science, all that matters is human lives”,some are fogetting that on both side when money matters are coming.I also liked “Heartbreak I and II” and many more.
The two last ones, illustrated, are my preferite.
Great work.I know it’s unbelievable how you are able to express through words when you are in pain and in love,I know. It’s unbelievable, magic and after you are asking yourself, what did that come from?
Dear Alex,
Thank you for your great post, and although I hate to use the most popular of all current cliches… this, possibly the worst of all financial & commercial disasters… is most definitely a chance! Indeed perhaps the best chance we have ever been blessed with. I do however question the ability of those who have been entrusted with the power to turn things around… WE, US!… Barack Obama, just to name a single national figurehead… is powerless, if we do not all consider this situation to be a chance… and to understand that we must all play our vital part in the restructuring of social order…
Want less… give more…
Love, Paul
Grace,
Thank you very much for reading those poems,Well, Yes I never majored in English neither Philosophy as you said and I agree that “everything is relevant to one’s path” as you said.
Appreciated. :)
Thanks !
Santosh- Thank you for the book of poems. I downloaded it and read what you had to say about love. I like it. I will read the rest when I have time. Congratulations! I also find it inspiring that you are writing poetry and you didn’t major in English or Philosophy. Proof that everything is relevant to one’s path. I hope that makes sense.
Just a litle question: Do you write answars to any thing we ask you Paulo? If so, where can I find them?
Have a nice day and a good new week, love from Toril Marie,,,
Leaf, (Sorry, I do not know your real name)
Thank you very much, appreciated :)
Good day ! :)
I’d like to offer a small bit of hope in the midst of this global economic disaster we’re all facing for changing “poison into medicine,” a Buddhist principle I wrote about in my most recent blog post, which begins as follows:
“What’s the worst problem you have right now? Have you lost your home? Your job? Are you worried you might? Have you watched your savings diminish before your eyes like I have mine? Or are you facing a terrible illness?
From the Buddhist perspective, all people are endowed with the innate ability to create value out of any situation, no matter how awful or tragic. Unlike the idea that every cloud has a silver lining—that something positive can always be found in everything negative—the principle of changing poison into medicine explains that we can transform even the most horrific tragedy into the very thing we need to become happier than we currently are.”

All you need is love…love is all you need!
Lalalalalal lalalalala
Have a very beautiful day all of you
Sunshines to all
This is a little poem i wrote this morning
THE LAST CALL OF THE BEES
Why are you leaving me alone,
While I have given you so much to take back home?
Why are you letting that to happen?
Keep on spreading the poison.
Season after season, till there won’t be another season
For our flowers not to blossom.
And now your precious gold liquid,
Is starting to disappear.
And we are all singing a last call,
And hope you won’t let us fall.
And perhaps you will take some serious action,
As there’s always a solution.
Today a queen is crying,
And many brothers are dying.
But we keep on hoping,
But bees don’t feel,bees don’t think,
Wait… that’s what you’re thinking
Sad song on dying trees
As it is the last call of the bees.
Well done Santosh

Another 23rd February.
Always a special day.
Visions of the girl dancing the six-step garba, her skirts atwirl.
Images of the girl as a six year old, specs and all, sneaking into her sister’s class.
The girl, cap askew, jumping from one part of the terrace to another, as her kite soars up the blue.
I’m blinded, I shield my eyes.
Another 23rd.
Another quiet taste of Black Forest cake.
Another toast to too short a life.
I no longer ask “Why?!”
