There is an interesting article on Pr David Servan Schreiber’s site
http>//www.guerir.fr/Me,bers/david_servan_schreiber/anticancer-1/…
on obesity.
“The video that makes you understand the epidemic.
Obesity is one of the main factors of cancer risk. We are in the middle of an obesity epidemic. Have a look to understand.
These animated map of the obesity’s epidemic in the U.S.A gives us an idea of what we are going to face.We can see the distribution of obesity state by state from 1985 to 2007. In the states coloured in light blue, less than 10% of the population is obese, in the states coloured in red, more than 30%.
This is particularly worrying when we recall that cancer develops several years after the apparition of obesity. This gives us an idea of what to expect if we don’t stop this phenomenom.
How did this happened?
During the second World War, we completely changed our diet habits
massive use of refined sugar and white flours, introduction of vegetable fats, transfat, (artificial and dangerous feeding of animals based on soy and corn(loaded with Omega6).
All these factors contribute both to the obesity and cancer epidemic. In fact, the obesity is one of the principal factors of risk in developing cancer. We know to-day that the link between the two is due to the high consumption of sugar (3) and probably also from fat acids Omega-6(4) : the sugar stimulates the secretion of insulin which in turn, stimulates the inflammation of cell-growths. The fat-acids Omega-6 (when they are not counter-balanced by sufficient supply of Omega-3)do the same thing.”
You can replace sugar by Agave Nectar , a natural sweetener.
Hello everyone,
When I read what all of you wrote here, I start to beleive again that there is still a chance for all of us and this world!
At some point in our life we always get to the situation, where we think it can go on like this anymore… We think there is no way out, we are unable to see the light that would guide us back on to the right track! But when I see all this positive energy combined on this website I can see that there is more to come for us!
One of my favorite quotes:
No matter how long the road to your goal is, it always starts with the first step!
I think we are all walking on our own roads or are beginning to walk them. Let us all take the next step and achieve something.
I thank you all for publishing your thoughts and being an inspiration to people reading this blog… As you all said, every action you take is going to have an affect on the world and sharing this ideas and opinions will also have an impact on the people reading this.
Love and respect
Marcel
Angeline16,
You are right, sixteen year old cannot make difference, she can only learn how to make difference for tomorrow…
Dear Angeline16, with all the stupid news they show in the TV channels please do not believe them and just do what you feel good…
You do not have to take the burden of entire world since even if you do a single bit of your own work, that will make a lot of difference…
Leave those problems for us, we are going to take care of those problems that they show in TV channels.
Those are debt to us (Paul, T.K., Catherine M., Liina L.,Nancy and many others…) So, forget about listening to what they are showing…
In a speech that I heard from Barack on US Congress he says, “We are not quitters…” that was for USA for it holds true for each and every one of us…
OK ?
Good, Very good … Therefore, Start concentrating on your own work (even if it is small) and forget about the depressing news that is currently going on…
Those are not going to last long …
God bless you !
Angeline16-
No matter what… never give up on your dreams. You CAN leave an impact on the world. Far too many times, the world leaves an impact on us. Flip the script.
‘You can quote me if you want on the blog, please go ahead.. You are right, we can make a huge difference. Paulo Coelho for instance, was in a mental institute three times and suffered a lot as we know; he has changed a part of world ten times over! Communication is the key to peace, without it all fails. Look at isolated North Korea, there is no communication there’
-Thewolffather
Someone in an email exchange said this, I do not quote the person because I respect their privacy.
“I am also concerned with the world, it is a big mess and I do not think that anyone is capable of cleaning it up until all the countries are talking to one another and come to better understandings; then we, the people, can start to make a difference in every street, city and country. The biggest problem is fear, the USA is afraid, Iran is afraid, Russia and China are afraid every country is afraid of something, they are afraid of each other and terrorism. The only ones that are not afraid are the extremists, the murders, the rapists, drug dealers and the ignorant. We do live in a big lie at times, one could say that politics is a lie, another can say religion is a lie, others say it is the multinational companies that are a lie, or a combination of all these things make international relations a problem. Oil, religion and politics… ”
While I completely agree, I do not agree that we cannot make a difference. This is the problem, every one of us thinks that we cannot make a difference; I used to think so too.
But everything starts with us. Who carries out the dirty work of the extremists? We do!
Who goes to war, will these extremists put on a uniform and go fight for what they believe in? Hell no! They get people like us to do.
If we stopped for a minute and realized this, things could be a lot different. Every person can help in their own way, whatever way they can. I myself hate politics, never understood it, never will. I don’t think I would be able to talk to a politician I wouldn’t understand them, probably because they have complicated things so much that even they don’t know what in the world they are saying.
I have no doubt things will get better! Good ALWAYS prevails! As my daddy used to say!

Angeline,
I thank you for your compassion. It makes me think I thank my dear Universe for I was born in a socialist country. Here in France we have curious advantages for a so “shortie” (:) country. Indeed, many money was given to Health, Elder people, Families, Studies enterprises… Then, there was a little break between 2002 until now. But it seems now, though my country is in debt of more than 1000 milliards of euro (…), that the aids start again.
In real it’s impossible for the money to be secure now. I mean, logically, and because of interest banking, the repayment differential’s growing up, while the countries’s funds are diving. In real, we are in a crash for several month. But as absurd the usurer’s method, as absurd telling us about.
As for me money is not a bad thing. It is the use of it that counts. But it would be great to see if it is really money the problem, or the way people are sharing with each other.
Since, everything will be all right. The human being has always learnt a way to do and be better. Sometimes blind and deaf to the lessons, that’s true. The human being also lived deluges.
And though I consider we are not all born to be monks, I agree with Paul. When we put sandals on, we have us, and the other, we are totally devoid of material things. It tends to develop human’s reaction face to emptiness. the human realises he has himself, and the others and the infinity: sharing, giving, offering, is also growing, as he lost the fear of lacking. How important to give my skirt if I know you’re cold. I’d be warmed by this gesture.
Inevitably a world without money conduces to that generous behaviour. But when it is accepted. In the case you talk about it is underwent. A big difference.
With love.
hi all,to do think if you hurt someone out of stupidity ,ego ,vanity whatever really deeply hurt them should they forgive you.has a person the right to look for this gift if they trully repent.what if they are still on a path to understanding their own shameful action yet they need forgiveness,is it selfish to need and want it ,do we need it.im not talking crimes that you could be imprisioned for i mean relationship wise.i am pondering the whole concept of forgiveness can it free guilt if its genuine.to hurt the one you truly love is what i dont get yet many do it ,ive done it.
It´s interesting how people sometimes seem to be totally different than how I see/sense them. This happened to me today when looking at pictures of 2 very close people. When I looked at the pictures they seemed so far away and totally different. At first this was really confusing and started doubting. Maybe the pictures show these two the way they really are and I was totally wrong all the time…doubt, a very nagging feeling in my stomach.
When I take a deep breath and clear my mind and heart, my inner voice tells me that I am right, that I can really see/sense these two…how wonderful and beautiful they are! Those pictures just show the world just an image…like a mask.
I guess we´re all wearing masks, at least sometimes we do!
I am so thankful that I can see these two unmasked!
Angeline16, every person in this world matters, so do You and your aged youngsters. At this moment, yes, this is a period of crisis in the world, but as in history – we have always come out of it somehow. And more and more people are starting to realise that every single one of our actions matter, every person makes a difference in the world.
And Angeline – we always have something – we have the love for each other, as humans. If we are in trouble in material way, we always find somehow how to survive… people helping people. It works… and would work even better if we would not be so scared to care for each other more…
It is lovely to see how much You care about the state of the world. And this way of thinking, I may say proudly, will get You far in the world – because nowadays (also like in the past) we need that kind of thinking. If we love, the world will find the right way.
Love from Estonia,
Liina L.
Dearest Angeline16,
it may seem hard to believe, but YOU can make all the difference in the world! These are the times to keep hope alive, have faith and share as much as possible. It’s not about having anything, it’s about being. The recession is a reality, but I am sometimes amazed how easy people despair and lose themselves over things. Our attitude and behaviors affect the world more than we know, even a recession. I’m still not sure whether this recession was imminent or if we convinced ourselves into it, like Ireland’s recession in 2000.
At my work, there are managers with big salaries. They keep me in meetings talking for hours how they do everything they can, complaining about job loss and how it’s affecting their ‘lifestyle’. When I ask for a budget to help improve the morale of the staff, even something small for a barbeque, they talk for more hours on how we need to cut budgets and how nothing can lift morale.
And also at my work, there are minimum wage workers, retired people that have to work to afford being old, students that have two jobs to pay over expensive education that won’t even be up to date by the time they finish, single mothers struggling to raise their children, crippled people pretending to walk without pain so we don’t send them home. We’ve already fired some, and cut the hours on many of them. These people have no ‘lifestyle’, they barely struggle to live. They are the ones that we might think that they have nothing, that are the most impacted by the recession. But on pay days, they take turn in bringing doughnuts or home cooked sweets, they bring guitars and sing in the evenings, and almost never complain.
To have nothing to lose
To not be shy at working hard
To still enjoy life, each other
To still be able to give, and give hope
and to never doubt the power of a single action.

Thank you for asking this question, Angelina, are thoughts I should think more often.
Wishing you courage to act and love,
Anca
I am sorry to say this but we are an infection, a plague upon the world. We are like a virus, spreading to each and every person, transmitting ourselves and our symptoms upon all those who “know” us. We are viral. 20 years ago we could never have dreamed of having such impact upon any stage, we would not have known of each others existence so profoundly, We would not have the power to infect others with knowledge about us that we currently have.
I was just on facebook and I saw this article by Jose Vargas, a political technology writer for the Washington post. I have followed his stuff concerning the rising generation and their impact on the political sphere and have greatly admired his work up till now. He has discussed many aspects of this virality (yes I meant that and not virility) that each and every one of us posses. He has discussed how, using the internet, citizens of Idaho got a huge amount of people supporting Obama. His newest article is entitled “Bloggers are changing the way the gay rights movement communicates.”
This article shows how a group of people with no voice without the internet, now have a large voice in the white house and it is through this technology. We have the power to become like this group. We have the power to band together, to share our message with all that we know. The interesting thing about this is that this is a movement that is being propelled exponentially and it will not stop. This movement is like a stone cut without hands growing until it fills the whole earth. We are here, we have a voice, and we have more power than we know.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others” – Nelson
We have the ability to become the city on the hill, the light uncovered, and as we share the light of that candle with others it does not diminish our own light, but increases the light of the whole. As we share our information, our knowledge, our stories with those around us we are illuminating the whole. We need to get up, to stand up, not to leave, but to speak. We need to share our stories with all those who will listen because who knows who the beating of our small butterfly wings will influence for the better. Who knows what torrential storm of change, what purifying force we can become. We will never know if we stay silent, but if we continue to stay silent then what becomes of us? We fade. We become worthless. So speak up, and share yourself with the world, do not limit yourself to the few circles of interactions that make up your life, but expand them for we are all members of the HUMAN race. We are all connected to each other.

Angeline16, from your comment I say be the 16yr old girl that you want to be. Just balance your interest and having fun with showing kindness to family, friends, and neighbours.
Maybe find an organization you would like to do volunteer work for during the summer. I found volunteer work for a young person teaches a lot.
:) Yes! I’m appearing now! Thank you Paul. It was indeed about my email adress…
Chère Marie-Christine,
Oui! :) Branchée et unplugged en même temps! :D
Yes! Plugged and unplugged at the same time! :D
Santosh- Dont give up! You have to send it out in the universe and keep at it- this is the tough part- and really really believe it will happen, then one day it does. Trust me.
It may be a trickle, it may be in a different form than what you wished prayed and yearned for – but it happens.

As we walked past zombie eyed, a tree burst into song, a million bird calls setting free this dawn. Each note expressed with joy, with such sure clarity. Humbling.

How can a sixteen year old make a difference? I watched the news recently and all the news stories was about the global economic crisis, people losing jobs, losing their property, etc. But I want to know is what about who already have nothing. What would they end up with?
