Hi Paulo, Used my hearing aid to hear you sing.U rock! Especially liked it as your voice is high-pitched, if it were low-pitched, then I wud have to strian my ears. So, I like Mohd. Rafi and Kishore Kumar more than Mukesh because of their high-pitched voices…..:-)

What a wonderful surprise to wake up to this morning! One of those songs so familiar that every last chord is etched into my memory, like a portrait into glass. And the lyrics as well, seem addressed to my very soul in this hour.

Just last night I stayed up with a friend until the wee hours of the morning, conversing about men. She is in the midst of a divorce, and I in the midst of a break-up, and the burning question we shared: When you can’t stop loving someone – when all the upheaval and turmoil is still not enough to destroy the love you have for them in your heart – how do you continue to experience that love, and yet still move on with your life? How do you continue on your path and not merely stand frozen, waiting, thinking “someday…maybe…”?

I think it is possible: I think that you can have other relationships, even enter into them fully, and yet still hold that person in your heart, knowing that if ever the opportunity arises for that love to be reborn from the ashes, you will be there, still loving them. If you truly love someone, no matter what happens – even if you break up, or even if they pass away – no one else can take their place in your heart. And so, you can meet new people, you can enjoy being with them, you can even love them for a time and in a way, but that does not erase the unique and incessant, once-in-a-lifetime love in your heart for this special person.

Some claim that this is what it means to be soul-mates – that the love of a soul-mate is a fire that never goes out. Others we may love for a time in our lives, but when circumstances change, that flame soon wanes and grows cold. The love of a soul-mate is like an ember that ever glows, awaiting only a single puff of air to be blown upon it to start a bonfire burning again in our heart. No matter how far apart we are or what sort of circumstances keep us from being together – no matter who we are with, or what we are doing in our lives – we still love that person and nothing whatsoever can destroy that love, because it is indeed eternal, invincible, ever-lasting.
